	I'm confused about this.  I'd like to know if, for surface baits, the fish biting and then getting off the hook is a probability-based event in the game mechanics, or is it triggered by certain specific events?  Before we begin, I can rule out one factor: the technique I use to reel in the fish.  Because I always use the same technique.  However, the results are often very different; sometimes the fish bites and frantically escapes, while other times it's very normal.  I hope guys will actively participate in the discussion so that we can get closer to the essence of the problem quickly.

	Any recommendations for catching trout with Mayflies or other insect baits?  I've tried #1 and #2 hooks, at Falcon Lake, float and bottom setups with 6 and 8 pound fluoro line, with and without leaders, and almost nothing would bite.  I ended up giving up on insects and sticking with lures and small minnows.  But during slow bite times I like to have a float or bottom rod out on a rod stand while lure fishing to speed things up.

	It looks like Natural is the darkest, followed by Acid Tiger (green/yellow) and perch (yellow/orange)?

<p>
	Also, which is better for use on muddy waters/cloudy/rainy days vs. clearer water/sunny days?

	Does anyone know whether the top water fishing biting mechanism is pre-determined?
</p>

<p>
	I'm talking about when you use a walker/popper/frog and successfully lure the fish to the lure, but it misses the lure after striking it, swims up (bubbled water) to bite it, or they reaching out of the water to bite it, etc.
</p>

<p>
	I hear that there may be ways to increase you chances by changing the speed of the reel-in OR pulling the rod in the opposite direction after they bite the lure and not reel in immediately when they strike.  I think I've had some success trying both ways, but it's hard to really say if it's me or something else.
</p>

<p>
	I do notice that most times when the fish pops their head out the water to bite, more often they are trophies and uniques.  This gets a bit discouraging if you end up not being to reel them in.

	I carry a lot of items to the waterway, but it happened to me several times that I got the "tackle is to heavy" message. Therefore it would be helpful to know the weight of the different pieces. Lures and sinkers weights are given, but for bait I only see a classification from light to x-heavy.
</p>

<p>
	What I figured out so far:
</p>

<p>
	Light &lt; 5g
</p>

<p>
	Medium (all three types, not better resolution atm) between 5g and 15 g
</p>

<p>
	Heavy +/- 35g
</p>

<p>
	X-Heavy between 50g and 70g
</p>

<p>
	Any more detailed information on this?
</p>
