Hey folks!:) From this post on, we’ll be sharing with you how things are on our side of the screen! We’ll let you in on our thoughts and secrets as well as make sure to keep you updated on what we’re currently working on. Follow the bold and daring plans of our programmers, daydream together with our designers and graphic artists and get the overall vibe of Fishing Planet’s dev team! But first, let us thank you guys for supporting us from the start! We know and remember all those who were with us right from day one and feel that we’ve truly bonded after all these years. We couldn’t have done it without you! And now that we’re officially released it’s almost impossible to believe in the long road that’s been leading us up to this point for the past few years! We’re officially out on Steam as well as PlayStation®4. For those of you who asked about Xbox… Yes, we definitely plan to port the game to this platform and are already working on that! BOATS But the main focus atm is the new big update we’re working on right now! Those of you who were most attentive already noticed the Garage icon we added a while back and guessed correctly in thinking that we’ll be adding Boats soon!;) Not much longer to wait! We’re already preparing a teaser video to give you a sneak peek! This awesome update will come out on Steam first, and after a month or two will become available on PS4. The first update with boats will feature kayaks that you can use for boat fishing on 5 waterways. After a while we plan to add zodiac boats, bass boats and other motorboats as well as extend our boat fishing waterways for more exploration opportunities. NEW LOCATIONS Way back in the beginning of our journey, the Fishing Planet dev team was just a handful of people with countless dreams and numerous plans! We wanted to add waterways and fishing destinations from all around the globe. And it was extremely difficult to narrow our point of focus and choose something specific to put our efforts into. But that choice was made. And as you all know - we began our journey with North America. The variety of fish species in this region played a significant part in this decision. The territory of USA alone is home to over 1000 different kinds of freshwater fish! There are as many as six types of Bass here, that’s not including the hybrid forms. Another reason was that one of our game designers is an avid angler who spent a lot of time traveling this region and was mesmerized with American waterways, knowing exactly which fish species are found there and what their behavior patterns are. But the game is growing and our plans are too! As much as we love these locations, we already started creating European and British fishing destinations. Actually, one British waterway is finished - Weeping Willow Lake and we’ll show you more screenshots soon enough! BOTTOM FISHING But that’s not all. We’re also busy working on 50+ new European fish species, that will be added to the game together with the new ponds. As we already told you in our Q&A, we plan to release the new waterways and fish species together with bottom fishing in one big update. We had plans to add bottom fishing for quite a long time and now finally began working on this cool feature! Right after we release the boat fishing update, we plan to put all our focus into bottom fishing development. Well, that’s probably enough info for now:) We’ll make sure to keep you informed about our plans and overall day-to-day life. It’s hard to decide what to talk about, so how about you help us out and tell us yourselves what you’re interested in and what you’d like to know more about? Please, comment below and let us know!7 points

Why is it so hard to leave some feedback what is done with this update. The only gaming producers that don't have any sort on announcement when they release big updates... Come on search the community what kind of answer is that....2 points

so i didnt know that you can catch a common shiner and wull be added to your bait count..that's so cool. lol2 points

I have been sitting on the same rock at the same lake at the same time of the year catching Crappie for over sixty years2 points
-
The answer is simple - the game is already alive for 2+ years and grown up twice for this time. We will keep servers up at least 5+ years from now (actually I think 20+). Also, Xbox One version is coming in next half of the year with more servers. And kayaks coming next week, so your unlimited licenses will work for a very LONG time.2 points

I saw a post on here recently talking about a "secret" method of how to farm money. It got very trolly quickly. I don't feel that disclosing this method is neither "game breaking" nor even really a secret. Everything you need to know is included in the tool tips in the game, and the features used to do it were included in the game itsself by the devs to be used for the exact purpose of the "method". I myself was having a tough time grinding long days for cash to buy new gear, repair gear, buy bait, and cover travel costs. To me that made the game start to become monotonous and not very fun. I feel that people in the know should help others, as to keep the game fun and to grow the community. Essentially all this method takes is a large fish-keeping net, management of time and return over investment, use of the in-game forward time function, and fishing for multiple days instead of just 1 day. This can be done easily at any level really, even starting at Mudwater, however I'll start by giving an example from Neherrin River(lvl 10). It can be applied to any location, and any type of fish as well. First thing any new player should do is use the early baitcoins they gather to buy an unlimited advanced license for Texas, as you don't have to pay travel costs to fish there. Farm spotted bass during peak hours to fill up your bag, then use the forward time feature to 5am the next day. This will sell all the fish in your bag, and you just rinse and repeat. Now getting on to the actual method to making large amounts of money from each trip. Firstly, you need to have a bag large enough to make your trip worth the investment. For Neherrin River I suggest you have at least the FishFort S which is a 198lb bag with an individual fish holding size of 33lbs(which will hold nearly any trophy flathead you may catch). The second thing you need to take into account is your rod and reels. You don't want to go too heavy or you will lose XP. My personal setups that work well for this location are as follows. For Large Catfish and Gar: The Nero 12'10" rod, EspiraML 3000 reel, 12 lb fluoro, #4/0 hook, Chubby Bobber, and Medium Cutbait(Catfish) or Crawfish(Unique Gar), as well as Shiners. For Bass: The Aurora 7'6" rod, InspireCast 3000 reel, 10lb test fluoro, and a few different lures. The 1/2oz Jighead with 3" yellow shad(Stop-n-go, twitched, or straight retrieve all on reel speed 2 works well). Also a 1/2oz Yellow Spinnerbait(Stop-n-go on reel speed 2), or depending on your level a 12ft crawfish colored crankbait on reel speed 2 straight retrieve(bass destroyer!). For Panfish: The Nero 12'10" rod, EspiraSlim 2500 reel, 8lb test Fluoro, chubby bobber, #1hook, and a variety of baits depending on what you're fishing for. Crawfish cut for Unique Redears. Leeches for Unique Crappie, small minnows or grasshoppers will also work. With that out of the way, now on to the method. What you'll want to do first is start by looking at the Ubersheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1wEvjycxSaVLNmVOCIZPALsPvLtxnJSz_LDcPKowAFb4/edit#gid=1622990818 which details all of the times that are prime for catching the fish you're targetting. This tells the best times for Uniques and Trophies as well for particular weather conditions. This will help you maximize your time catching the fish you need to make this method effective. When you go to travel to Neherrin it's $3,300 for a single day of travel costs, but you don't want to only fish 1 day, as it's extremely time consuming to fill your bag and to make at most a $6,000 to $8,000 profit. What you want to do is extend the days to 4 days minimum for a travel cost of $4,800(THIS IS KEY!). The first day double your travel costs, pay for all repairs for the trip, and the bait used. Make sure to bring enough bait for all 4 days, and make sure all of your gear is fully repaired prior to the trip. The more days fished, the more return on your investment and profit you will make. 4 days will net you $30K-$40K profit easily. My typical day here would be to start out at Rubble of Old Times and run to the right to where the well known 2 trees are sticking out of the water and fish for Trophy and Common Flathead Catfish from 5-8am. This will be on my Catfish rig with a 70in leader, and medium cutbait. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EiBqRhFT6iE . You can quickly fill your bag with these. It only takes 6-7 fish to fill up to around 160-170lbs. The sweet spot is 40-50ft out and watch the swirls in the water to let you know where the cats are. Alternatively, if it's a sunny day, I may fish for the Unique Longnose Gar using crawfish, just to your right in the grass mats with a 30in leader on the same rig https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=koIywkUTt8Y. Or I may possibly target the Unique Smallmouth bass https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7Z-S4SA7fo. After this, you will want to go to Into the Rocky Blue and turn around 180 degrees, then run to the right to the first clearing. This will be facing the sunken truck at Nice Parking Job. Cast towards either of the rocks directly in front of you or to the left using the bass rig, lures, and techniques I stated above and you will quickly fill the remaining 30lbs of your bag in 1-2 hours in game time with bass. After your bag is full you can either forward time to the next day, rinse and repeat, OR you can target uniques which is usually what I do to maximize the profit I make from the trip. One of the easiest ones to target is the Unique Redear Sunfish. For this, the easiest place to go is Into the Rocky Blue and run out onto the rock directly in front of you. Use your panfish rig with a leader of 80in and crawfish cut. Cast out between 29 to 41 feet. The prime times are from 7am-11am and 4pm-7pm on sunny days according to the Ubersheet. Use forward time to reach the peak times if need be, but be aware of your cooldown period. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVZ_WBukgBY So this is the method. This is not limited to only Neherrin River, nor is it limited to level for the most part short of not having the proper keepnet or gear. This method can also be applied to "pike alley" in Michigan, Large cats in Lousiana, etc... I really hope this helps out some of the newer people so that they aren't having to grind too hard for long periods of time on a single day to only make a small profit. It can be very frustrating for a free player to move up without knowing how to properly manage money, time, etc. Good luck guys and tight lines!1 point

doing this for about 6hrs in real time, coz i heard from a buddy that it gave an xseries crankbait in florida but everytime i got about down to 3 and the furthest is the last one ill just get the nibble and poooff..the counter restarts..almost throws my controller instead just played ufc to beat someone up.lol and today i tried bait fishing just to do the saint achievements in texas..apparently bobbing and angling machine is tied together, even if you got nibbles the angling machine counter wont restart..just land that fish and pray he wont run away with your bait..good luck..to all of us coz i havent finished them yet1 point

I feel for you on losing the fish but that's pretty awesome. I'm only level 25 so I have no shot yet anyways (I barely land 20 lbers on 8 lb line lol) it sounds promising that something's in there though. Thanks for the warning as well. Was debating on what to spend on, now maybe ill gear up for some size.1 point

perhaps they're only in Carolina's shop then. that's odd I figured theyd be at base shop since everything is as well but I guess not. Apologies I should've clarified further I guess.1 point

I didn't know that either, and given the amount of people asking for that very thing over the last few weeks a lot of others didn't know either. Nice find.1 point

You know, I was just thinking that the other day when I caught one. Why doesn't it add the shiners to your bait count? I Didn't bother to check and see that it did. Thanks for the info!1 point

That's cool. I wasn't coming at you negatively. I only figured it was the same as what you were talking about since the results are roughly the same. Thanks though, I was hoping it would help some of the other people here that have been having problems like I was. I was honestly getting tired of the grind, as it wasn't really that much fun, and it was so difficult to make money. This ways seems to still be a grind and make you good money, yet allowing you the freedom to fish for uniques, or whatever else you want once you've filled most of your bag early on. I've only been playing for a few weeks and am already about to turn lvl 33. I'm generally good at F2P's and MMO's on figuring out how to effectively grind in the most efficient ways. This game without making in game purchases for money to get gear and travel expenses I found to be extremely difficult and time consuming compared to a lot of others. Almost like you have to have money to make money. This is the only way that I found to come out ahead. I'm not slating you or anything for not divulging your method. I do however, think that it wouldn't really hurt anything as it would only make things easier on the players of a small community to help keep them playing and not getting frustrated and giving up. I was near quitting myself until I figured this out. It's tough when you can barely buy bait, repair your gear, and upgrade your gear when you lvl. Much less having other lakes unlocked, but not having the freedom to go fish them because you can't afford licenses or travel fees. To me having the money to move around isn't really game breaking, as much as it's game opening.1 point

TC, I refuse to discuss it anymore with anyone, as I stated in my thread. You have detailed a great way to make money and point out several essential things people should know, kudos to you for that.1 point

Yes! The blue/ white and the craw 3 ft are killer in FL. I got so tired of stop n go and lift n drop (L2R2L2R2L2R2L2R2 BAAAAH) that when I got the cranks I just wanted to hold R2 and sit back and let the bait do it's thing. The last couple days I've started trying more of a stop n go with the cranks though and haven't noticed a difference but it's a change of pace for me at least.1 point

Can I ask a mod to lock or delete this thread please? I refused to make my method public except to people it wouldn't spoil the game for. I thought that was the proper thing to do. Instead, I got accused of using glitches and exploits and got accused of lying by those who don't know what I'm doing....but above all else this thread has generated animosity which was not intended at all. If I'd known how this would turn out I'd never have mentioned it at all. All I wanted to do was get people thinking for themselves instead of turning to Youtube etc. Not that it's on there. I figured this out myself, so if I can do it anyone can. However, that is the end of it. I have 2 PMs from PH someone and someone else whose name I can't remember ( my inbox has emptied itself - or I did and can't remember doing it! ) which I will reply to - PM me again guys - and that's it. Bass15lb, still waiting for your PM so we can discuss amicably. Willing to divulge everything to prove to you I'm not cheating, glitching or using an exploit. One thing I know, keeping all findings to myself and friends from now on. Too much effort for people to think for themselves these days, and they get salty when they say ' gimme ' and don't reciprocate or contribute in any way. I think I have stumbled upon a second way to profit massively. This one needs further testing before I can confirm. But...I am not going to confirm on here. Only ever tried to help people, I help anyone on the same venue as me who asks. Disappointed this thread went the way it did, but I still stand by my decision not to tell lower level players. And Benzo, who went from polite to aggressive when he didn't receive an immediate response. Lock it mods, this topic is done. Along with Benzo and Bottomfeeders chances of learning my method.1 point

I think it's boats first, then bottom-fishing + European lakes later. No idea on ETA though, haven't heard from the devs yet regarding a status update (hint hint)1 point

This is in Florida at the Lilly pad peg. When you spawn you basically walk straight to the edge of the dock and there is a set of pads directly in front of you.The left side is a straight edge so try to line up accordingly to get the max time of bait in strike zone. I caught this one casting down the left side of those pads. There is never any indication that there are fish there but I fill my 220 net in under two real life hours using red or blue 3ft crankbaits.1 point

Cheat Spot my rump, you don't pull out trophy or uni on every cast if your lucky you will get one unique a day fishing there sometimes two. Alaska has much higher uni rates. How rare should a unique be? Should the fish just spawn randomly on the lakes because on the lakes where I live there are defenate hotspots near certain habitats for certain fish. This is what the game is emulating. If you fish that spot you catch bigger fish. Just like real fishing if a person finds a local fisherman and the guy tells him fish 3 foot deep 100 yards off the rock wall using a green jighead and pink skirt to catch those slabs but here someone went on YouTube and got the information or they saw someone else do it. I suggest you go on about your business and play the game for yourself find your own hotspots and let others play how they do.1 point

1.) There's Always Texas Get the advanced license for sure, with your first few baitcoins. 2.) Basic Licenses: With the exception of florida at the present moment you can buy 3 day real time basic licenses for just a little bit more then the 1 day advanced. You can keep all commons this way and get 3 days to fish real time. -Granted you have to release trophies/uniques, but the point here is working on a budget. -Trophies/Unis only give just a smidge more credits/lb when you sell them. 3.) Fish Sell Guide: See It Here-> https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MVthNeh0VrZZ2mxOAqHojrjowkRZwgcQXIgWlq6ErZ8/edit#gid=0 Thanks Wicked Viking! 4.) Extend Days, And Exiting. When traveling to new locations, extend multiple days. And when you exit the game do so by going to the gear in the top left, and exit game there, you will not leave the waterway. 5.) Keep Your Storage Updated: Your stringer/keepnet is your most important piece of gear to keep updated, it's your livelyhood. 6.) Travel Light! -Take one to three rods, to keep your rod case minimum. Use a small tacklebox and vest as well to carry just the bare minimum gear. (This will give cheaper repair cost because your gear is cheaper.) -When traveling to lower level lakes, you can reduce the size of your keeper/fishnet to reduce repair costs as well, why would you need a 200 or 300lb stringer when you won't get anywhere near to filling it? --Suggested By BonPadre THANKS! 7.) Spawning Locations: Fishing holes can dry up, try to keep moving, don't stay in one place, explore and find more places to get your target fish, this keeps the fish flowing in, which keeps the cash flowing in. 8.) Slow Your Progression. Don't always travel to a new location when it opens, as you won't have a big enough stringer/keepnet to be successful there by filling it. 9.) Keep Old Gear. -Suggested By BonPadre, Thanks! Don't sell off old rod/reel setups or other gear as if something goes wrong you won't have any prior gear to fall back on. 10.) Keep It In The Green, Saves Green -Suggested By darren, Thanks! Watch how much tension your putting on your line, keep all 3 bars for rod/reel/line in the green. If your not seeing those bars go into your settings through the gear icon and turn tackle load indicator to advanced. 11.) Expensive Baits Don't Mean Better. Suggested BonPadre, -Thanks! Keep an eye on how much each bait costs when your using it, and take into account the credits your getting for the fish. IE a bait that costs 50 credits to catch a 55 credit fish makes no sense. Personally this is why i use lures, only 1 initial investment cost, and it's not a consumable. Downside to lure fishing is it takes quite a bit to learn and be effective at it. 12.) IF You have a little bit of money to spend. Buying a New York advance for the $2.99 pack for the 50 baitcoins is worth it. Walleye there are easy to catch with narrow spoons, and give quite a few credits/xp and are a good fallback with a 6lb setup. 13.) Shop at home. Buy your gear/lures/baits at your home, not at the lake, there is a larger markup at the waterway. - Suggested By Hilrond. Also having premium helps as it gives you a 50% boost to credits on fish and xp. I may add more but these are just a few things off my head. Hope this helps. Tight Lines!1 point
