Thanks Ez, presuming ps4 will have this dlc added in neek weeks update. Update: Devs replied & said Halloween event fish will only be available during the week of Halloween, also said there's more than the Spooky Gar being added, but wouldn't elaborate. So Happy hunting during Halloween week y'all!3 points

I've been in this game a very long time and I would say I wholeheartedly agree! Oh and this just out:2 points

Finished my trip to Michigan last night. Went home repaired equipment and stocked bait etc. Bought a couple of new medium light rods and reels, and ready to catch me some trout this evening. Thanks for the comments fellows.2 points

Great to see someone is still using NAD's and mine timesheet! Its outdated, but the main trends still make sense for the game as it is today.2 points

I tried for an hour or two yesterday fishing the regular gar spots in NC and hooked something on a dead mouse that smashed 20lb line with ease. But, it wasn't a cat as I know how they fight and have landed them to 85lb on 20lb gear. However, I have a feeling it was a trophy or unique longnose gar as the uniques go over 20lb. I also messed up on the drag having recently switched to a Thunderspin and keep forgetting about the max drag settings. I don't think the halloween fish are in yet, but, that being said, I only fished where the longnose gar are to be found. Maybe the spooky gar are in different spots?2 points

The PC platform really doesn’t have its own area in the forum, though this might be appropriate here and include all platforms. Everybody's welcome. Might be fun to show off including bragging rights for your Trophy and Unique (Only) catches in FishingPlanet. These are the big ones guys. The fighters that raises your heartbeat, damaged your equipment, invoked jealousy on everyone watching and caused the chat box go crazy with “WOW, NF, N1, VNF” etc. Show us what ya got! Post Them Up!1 point

Hey folks!:) From this post on, we’ll be sharing with you how things are on our side of the screen! We’ll let you in on our thoughts and secrets as well as make sure to keep you updated on what we’re currently working on. Follow the bold and daring plans of our programmers, daydream together with our designers and graphic artists and get the overall vibe of Fishing Planet’s dev team! But first, let us thank you guys for supporting us from the start! We know and remember all those who were with us right from day one and feel that we’ve truly bonded after all these years. We couldn’t have done it without you! And now that we’re officially released it’s almost impossible to believe in the long road that’s been leading us up to this point for the past few years! We’re officially out on Steam as well as PlayStation®4. For those of you who asked about Xbox… Yes, we definitely plan to port the game to this platform and are already working on that! BOATS But the main focus atm is the new big update we’re working on right now! Those of you who were most attentive already noticed the Garage icon we added a while back and guessed correctly in thinking that we’ll be adding Boats soon!;) Not much longer to wait! We’re already preparing a teaser video to give you a sneak peek! This awesome update will come out on Steam first, and after a month or two will become available on PS4. The first update with boats will feature kayaks that you can use for boat fishing on 5 waterways. After a while we plan to add zodiac boats, bass boats and other motorboats as well as extend our boat fishing waterways for more exploration opportunities. NEW LOCATIONS Way back in the beginning of our journey, the Fishing Planet dev team was just a handful of people with countless dreams and numerous plans! We wanted to add waterways and fishing destinations from all around the globe. And it was extremely difficult to narrow our point of focus and choose something specific to put our efforts into. But that choice was made. And as you all know - we began our journey with North America. The variety of fish species in this region played a significant part in this decision. The territory of USA alone is home to over 1000 different kinds of freshwater fish! There are as many as six types of Bass here, that’s not including the hybrid forms. Another reason was that one of our game designers is an avid angler who spent a lot of time traveling this region and was mesmerized with American waterways, knowing exactly which fish species are found there and what their behavior patterns are. But the game is growing and our plans are too! As much as we love these locations, we already started creating European and British fishing destinations. Actually, one British waterway is finished - Weeping Willow Lake and we’ll show you more screenshots soon enough! BOTTOM FISHING But that’s not all. We’re also busy working on 50+ new European fish species, that will be added to the game together with the new ponds. As we already told you in our Q&A, we plan to release the new waterways and fish species together with bottom fishing in one big update. We had plans to add bottom fishing for quite a long time and now finally began working on this cool feature! Right after we release the boat fishing update, we plan to put all our focus into bottom fishing development. Well, that’s probably enough info for now:) We’ll make sure to keep you informed about our plans and overall day-to-day life. It’s hard to decide what to talk about, so how about you help us out and tell us yourselves what you’re interested in and what you’d like to know more about? Please, comment below and let us know!1 point

So i buy the “catfish” pack and get to fishing and get reduced xp when I catch a fish? Really. You sell me this to catch large catfish and when i do, I get negative xp. Wtf? So using lower equipment is the keep to more money and xp when ypu about to break your line or rod? Seriously....same with bass set up, catch one and two to three negative arrows.1 point

So I'm looking to have a bit of fun. Not that catching keep nets full of Monster Pike, Muskies, Gar, Catfish, Snook, Red Drum, Salmon etc. isn't any fun lol. But the other day I was fooling aroung on the dock at Michigan. Using some medium light gear I was catching brownies, smallies and walleyes, and having a good time, of course with a little help from Mr. Absolute, and I am wanting to go somewhere new, and catch some smaller fish on light gear. So I thought, hey I've never been to Oregon. Yelp, level 37 and never been there lol. The thought of loading up on some trout sounds like fun. Will I, or will I not have fun, that is the question. Any comments would be appreciated.1 point

Yea, just meant the fish were probably part of the 4gb; and 4 is alot for a single update for sure. Must have been alot of minor unnoticeable fixes lol, only thing I've noticed is new baits, beyond that gear, spots, menus, etc. all still the same. I hope there is an announcement, you'd think for special events there would be. So guess I'm holding on to baits till some official word is given.1 point

I think they added the fish but haven't activated them yet. 4 gigs is a hell of a lot of data ( I remember when PCs had 4 gig hard drives lol ), certainly more than adding 3 baits to the NC shop. Halloween is a couple of weeks away yet. I could be wrong, I have no idea where the spooky gar are to be found, or the skeletal Bluegill. Stock up on those baits while you can. Would be nice to hear from the devs, we probably will either here or an ingame announcement.1 point

Two within an hour. Others were hitting Uni's every couple of minutes.1 point

If you're still in NC try standing roughly where the red circle is,there is a rock at the waters edge that I stand on, and cast along the left bank using casting spoons. Really casting anywhere towards the fallen logs works but along the bank worked best for me. The Red Devil spoon worked great for me. Tons of largemouth and smallmouth, catfish as well but worth less money per pound. Also you are at the level now that you can get cranks. I highly recommend those in that location if you can afford a 3ft craw crank, retrieve speed 2. Good luck buddy!1 point

up and down is reel speed. make sure the arrow isn't pointing down. left and right is drag.1 point

Just wanted to take a minute and share some knowledge with the beginner and maybe intermediate fisherman out there. I started playing FP just a day or two after release, after may son called me and said "dad you outta check out this new fishing game for PS4". So, I downloaded it, and I've played it...every single day since lol. And I figure like the mojority of us, I fumbled around for the first week just trying to figure everything out. Some of things that helped me along was first, research. As many of us know, there are some great youtube tutorials. Watch them and take notes. Secondly, there is the uber sheet guide. What I did was print every single thing listed in the said uber guide, from reel drag settings, balanced combinations, location summary, preferred baits and all the venue data etc. The whole damn enchilada. Then I made folders and labeled them for each venue. And then sorted the data accordingly, highlighting primo fishing times, prefered baits, notes that I had taken from watching youtube videos etc., and inserted the data into the appropriate venue folder. So then when I went to a venue, I could refer back to my folder that I had set up for that particular venue. (And yes, I did purchase some DLC to get me jumpstarted). So here I am now at level 37. 500 or so bait coins and around $475,000.00 in cash. Just about all the equipment I need, and now I can just sit back enjoy the fishing without the grind. So if you find your stuck, grinding to level up, catching trophies and uni's, and not making any money, do yourself a favor and research those videos and utilize those uber sheets. Believe me, they will definatley help, and will begin too see some profit. And like I said, even if you only have ten bucks, by the starter pack. You get some good beginning gear, a couple of pond passes, some coinage, and above all, a week of premium. And if you play 2 or 3 hours a day, and stay at one venue for at least a couple of days at a time, and using said premium, you'll see a big increase in experience and money. Hope this may help some of out.1 point

I've caught a couple of Walleye at the pike place and this is the same on all the other ponds/rivers. Fish do swim about.1 point

I agree with you and I wasn't complaining about it, well that wasn't my intention anyway, if came across different then I apologise. I don't think I've ever played a FREE game as much as i have as this one before, the only other one was RESOGUN when the ps4 1st came out.1 point

And, not wishing to tempt fate or belittle the devs in any way, the rest. They have so much going on even I find it unbelievable - topwaters, night fishing, boats, Europe, jerkbaits, swimbaits.... We have to accept we will always be behind PC, as that platform is what this game is optimized for and they've had it for 2 years now. Changes are coming. Not many other devs participate on forums. They've just given us the Halloween baits the PC had..1 point

That's cool. I wasn't coming at you negatively. I only figured it was the same as what you were talking about since the results are roughly the same. Thanks though, I was hoping it would help some of the other people here that have been having problems like I was. I was honestly getting tired of the grind, as it wasn't really that much fun, and it was so difficult to make money. This ways seems to still be a grind and make you good money, yet allowing you the freedom to fish for uniques, or whatever else you want once you've filled most of your bag early on. I've only been playing for a few weeks and am already about to turn lvl 33. I'm generally good at F2P's and MMO's on figuring out how to effectively grind in the most efficient ways. This game without making in game purchases for money to get gear and travel expenses I found to be extremely difficult and time consuming compared to a lot of others. Almost like you have to have money to make money. This is the only way that I found to come out ahead. I'm not slating you or anything for not divulging your method. I do however, think that it wouldn't really hurt anything as it would only make things easier on the players of a small community to help keep them playing and not getting frustrated and giving up. I was near quitting myself until I figured this out. It's tough when you can barely buy bait, repair your gear, and upgrade your gear when you lvl. Much less having other lakes unlocked, but not having the freedom to go fish them because you can't afford licenses or travel fees. To me having the money to move around isn't really game breaking, as much as it's game opening.1 point

You also need to make sure you have the correct bait and the equipment you want BEFORE you leave home. Make sure you have enough bait (if float fishing) and enough line to last for many days. Always plan ahead! That will save you a lot of money in the long run.1 point

Sounds good. I really would like to see some kind of very rare items (gold reel or something) you can get from a" tackle box drop" like a random drop in the game so you get a chance of getting this very rare item or other rare items. My experience comes from rocket-league.com and they have a really nice crate drop that comes randomly when you playing the game. I think it would add a little more to the game and a always "maybe today i get a drop" and more excitement to the game. /Micael0 points
