Even though it's small, it's my first ever unique.

I recently discovered something that has improved my numbers drastically when fishing with minnows. It only works with Small Minnows, Shiners, and Large Minnows. Some may already know this trick. If not, I hope it helps. I was noticing that the minnows swim around slowly and normally when there's not a fish near them, but just before they got bitten they'd always speed up their swimming. So I did a little research on youtube and found a video showing underwater footage of someone using minnows while fishing and was describing a game mechanic added in a patch called "Predatory Strikes". Essentially what this is, is when a fish spawns nearby your minnow, the minnows starts to swim erratically, then will stop. When it stops is when the fish will strike 1-3 seconds later. I started out by fishing the normal hotspots and it worked perfectly. It makes it easier to know when the fish will bite. Well, even better...you can use the minnow as a fish finder basically. When you're having trouble getting bites, instead of just tossing out your minnow into a hotspot and waiting for a bite, cast out and wait about 20-30 seconds and if the minnow doesn't start swimming around like crazy, just reel in your line 5-10 feet. Then wait for it to start swimming around all crazy again, if not, reel in a bit more. Once it starts swimming around all crazy, just wait and it'll abruptly pause in one spot and 1-3 seconds later, get ready to set the hook. This helps you proactively find the fish instead of waiting for them. I catch wayyyy more now by using the minnow as a lure instead of bait. I've noticed this since day one, probably because real life livebaiting is exactly the same. As a result I never leave my livebait static ( both in game and real life ). I also find twitching the bait with L2 induces takes if I don't want to pull the bait away from a feature. Can't beat seeing a virtual or real float meandering around aimlessly and then suddenly coming to life alerting you as to what is about to happen..

As far as I have seen the percentage is exactly what it seems, the % until the item breaks and is no longer usable. Theoretically, you could fish with your equipment until it hits single digits as well but the repair cost is going to be significant compared to repairing at 70-80%. If you travel somewhere and leave after 4-5 days due to gear getting down to 70-80% to me seems a waste on travel expenses. I'd much rather stay until day 10+ and make a larger amount of profit for trip and pay the higher repair cost. The only downside would be if the cost to repair is exponential rather than linear (such that $1000 repairs 20% and $3000 repairs 40%). I havent done the math to figure out which way it's calculated though.

I know it would be extremely helpful for me when setting up points normalizations for my bi-weekly competitions for the community.

If this isn't correct spot for this I can delete & repost correctly. I was wondering if it's possible to install Subspecies leaderboards? Alot of ps4 (& PC) users would appreciate this. Example, Uni LmBs have pushed all subspecies off the boards basically, same w/ Catfish. Is it a big strain on menus/boards to have a category for each species & subspecies? Same could be said for the "Other" category, would be nice to have Drum, Snook, etc. boards.

u select not in the menu..press L1 and left analog stick to select (keep it pressed until you select the rod) hope it helps

yep...that's y u dont cast very near to reeds and weed beds using those baits coz ull end up tangled when they swim from predators. p.s. what i do is when i see the bobber go crazy i reel in 1 time to have the bobber in place so the predator will have easier time catching it

I agree w/ Papubino & do the same. Line gets replaced when it hits single digits, you'd be surprised how many fish can be caught from 10% to 2%. Also agree about equipment, I usually repair around 70%, tested going lower once (like 40-50%) & can't remember exact percentage or cost of repairs but do remember thinking "omg that's a mistake I won't make again" haha. As for an exact time frame on when to repair, can't say because that's all relative to what you're catching, how you like your drag, how often you use L2 during fight, etc.

kind of answer it..the same with the line..you can still catch fish with 2%, but will you chance it? you'll never know what you'll catch..im just saying wherever you are..the travel cost u can earn it in 1 day..but letting your equipments goes down to say 10%..imagine the cost to repair it
