Yes the rolling is normal but has no effect on you or the kayak, there is a challenge to roll a number of times and earn some baitcoins and if you balance the kayak by holding the rod over the front and not putting the anchor on you can be towed by the fish and there is a challenge for that as well. Also it is possible to land big fish faster from the kayak as it follows the fish and you are basically winding yourself to it rather than trying to wind it to you.

Looking for new challenges to do and saw this one listed is it still active and how do you activate it? Also Grinch seems to be a hidden challenge that appears only if you do it by accident?

I don't do competitions but I do like to do all the challenges and some don't appear until you do something to activate them. I noticed there are two listed I never heard of, catcher in the corn and grinch, both sound easy but how do you activate them?

The bobbers were part of the scary kayaking awarded at emerald and falcon with the vampire glasses at saint-croix.

Fishy race1 didn't appear in my challenges until I was fishing for ghost pike so assumed it was triggered by the event fish. Got it first try with Franky so it's worth keeping in mind if you haven't already done it. Also did the angling machine111 challenge with the albino gar, another one people have issues with. All over till Christmas now.

Was able to complete this challenge with the frankenfish from a kayak even though it's supposed to be a Christmas challenge. Got a free Elfin kayak worth 70coins, anyone else done this challenge as I am not finding anything on internet to show it completed any other way.

Earn an extra Kayak this halloween by doing the FISHY RACING 111 challenge by hooking the monster fish from a kayak and letting it drag you all around the waterway for as long as possible!!! Says its a Christmas challenge but it works so give it a go.

Putting multiple rods out after mixing potion I accidentally used my thora spinning rod with 19 lb line, after bringing in the first two on more suited rods I was still hooked up on it and found that it was simply a case of waiting for it to tire after about three or four minutes before it too was landed. As long as you don't mind a bit of a fight on your hands give it a go, and if you don't succeed there's always next year to look forward to.

Finally got a roach spoon in a tombstone at Michigan, I expect the spider spoon will also turn up about now.

Agree buy the creepy lures bundle. It looks like you only get one each of the spoon lures in the offer,but I got thirteen of each in my pack, so you wont ever run out!!!

Maximum drag of reel is not when that reel will break but what the maximum drag it can provide, so if you use a reel with a maximum drag just under the breaking strain of the line and recomended rod,in your case it would be in the region of 9.5 to 10kg it can safely be set to maximum drag, without risk of breaking and still utilising the full potential of the rod. Dont forget that any leaders used must be heavier than the mainline or it may break. Always use plenty of line on reel as without the ability to break the line, if the fish should be a monster and take all your line off the reel, it can then destroy your reel. You can select option to cut the line in this situation but I can say that I have never had to cut it. If done correctly only the reel should reach the verry top of the red zone and the rod and line should reach a max at one or two segments from the top.

PS.
The one warning you must not ignore is if it says lure or bait is too heavy for rod as this will result in rod breaking on a full cast.

dont forget you can only change the retrieval speed once the rod has been cast out.

Got a new account when I got a ps5 and have really enjoyed being able to do all the challenges again without always having to catch the biggest fish in the game, but I'm sure the spoons won't show up until the last couple of days no matter how many tombstones you visit.

Last year I bought one of the Halloween packs that had "all you required to complete the Halloween challenge" but it did not include the Roach spoon and Spider spoon. These spoons didn't turn up in the tombstones until the last couple of days. It would seem that they are as elusive as last year. Anyone got one from a tombstone yet or am I just unlucky???

Once you earn a special lure could it be added to your available lures in store so that you have a way to replace it if you lose it, even if it was at a higher premium price?

Is there a real use for PLAYER MODELS IN CLOSE RANGE, as I see it if it is off then that player is unaware that they are stepping all over you and your tackle, and the only person it benefits is them. Do the right thing and play in a private room if you do not want to play nice with others.

Full length mono leader? If bottom is slope then bait can move several feet when touched by fish, try shortening to 19inch the same as carp leader for quick fix

Use DPad right to go across to buy advanced licence press X use R analogue stick to move over to advanced licence box and then use DPad right and left to select required licence, X to buy. It's like a puzzle.

If it isn't in your monster missions then you won't be able to activate it at the waterway.

I had given up on this challenge but then I saw somewhere that you could do it with the Christmas fish when the jukebox is playing as the fish do not turn away once they bite.
At the everglades with a rest and three rods right next to the jukebox, and feeding in coins as the music ends worked for me. Google it and be patient until Christmas.

Is there a list of equipment that is available at the lake shops that is not available at the home shop, as I always thought you paid a premium for things at the waterways, but apparently some items are better bought on site. The HURU H1 is a great tackle bag that is only available at weeping willow (thanks soopadave),are there any more unique items available at other waters?

Is there going to be a Thanksgiving event as I know there used to be one and there was a "Catcher in the corn" challenge I would like to complete with a jacket you could earn.
