  1. Yeah, I was afraid I would have to do that but wanted to ask...just in case. Thanks!
  2. Hi guys, I haven't been on here in what seems forever. But you all know when I have a question, this is usually the first place I've come. I've learned so much from all of you that I leveled up in The Fisherman in no time at all. What I'd love to do is start the free version of Fishing Planet over again. I know this sounds crazy but I want to see how my fishing skills have truly developed. Is there a way to do this? I think I read you could contact support and they would reset the game for you but I thought there might be a work around that's faster. Yeah, I know this is dumb but it's something I'd really like to do for my own development. If you have any suggestions or thoughts, would you share them please? The only way that I could think of would be to create a second PS4 account and I hate to do that but if that's the only way, I will. Thanks in advance for any help! Sue
  3. I went crazy and bought Fishing Sim from PS4 store (full price - WOW!) and then bought a pre-owned disc for the Fisherman. I need to learn a LOT more before I try Fishing Sim. When they say pro, they mean it literally. It took me about four contacts to their support team to finally get a response to one question. And then the fix was a total work around. And not being a pro, the info/support was useless. The Fisherman is great for me simply because it gives me the opportunity to use some of the tricks and tips that you all have shared. But I have discovered the DLC's aren't free as I thought they would be. The lakes are practically the same as in FP and any changes that I have seen are minute. I think you level up faster in The Fisherman than in FP but that's about it. Since I purchased a pre-owned disc, the price was less than half of what the PS4 store sells it for. Personally I think the Fisherman is easier for a beginner because it gives you more details about the actual fishing experience than FP. Shoot, my 5-yo granddaughter was catching 1.9 pound striped bass at Lone Star on her first attempt. I had finally reached level 54 in FP but it took me a long while to reach it. Of course, I'm probably one of the least experienced members here so I have learned a few things from The Fisherman. My opinion (for what it's worth), unless you can find an extremely good deal on the Fisherman, stick with FP. You can at the least get a bit of support with that game. I've found a couple of bugs in the Fisherman but can't even get an acknowledgement from the support team. I play both on PS4 and seriously, I would have never switched if I knew then what I know now. The help that I've gotten from here and YouTube far outweighs what I've found for the Fisherman. Actually, I have found the Steam posts the most helpful of all... and that's bad especially since they are mainly for the PC version.
  4. Thanks for this info. And for the bite diagram, I probably used the wrong terminology. I've seen it on some sites called the bite chart, the bite diagram, etc. But what it is is the biting times that you find on the lake's home page where you find the fish listed for that location and the chart showing the best bite times for that location.
  5. Hi fellow anglers! I have been using Fishing Planet for a few years but I recently purchased The Fisherman. In the past, I always came to the forum for down to earth help. So after scouring Youtube for a couple of days I gave up and hopefully one of you can help. I thought one of the best features was being able to access the bite diagram directly from the lake/river. I also thought the option key was involved. But for the life of me, I can't remember the key combination to make it work and believe me, I have tried. Now did I dream this new feature and if not, do any of you remember how to do this? Secondly, do any of you know when the lighted hats will become available? I don't know about you all, but I'm finding night fishing practícally impossible without a light of some sort. And lastly, can any of you tell me if there a way to decipher what type rod you have, a casting or spinner? My husband tries to explain the difference but I can't make sense of the differences. Right now , if I want to upgrade the reel, I have to go to the shop and find a particular rod to see what type it is before I upgrade the reel. Well, that's all for now and thanks in advance for any and all help! You have no idea how much it will help me or appreciate it! By the way, I'm using it on the PS4 platform. Sue (Pollock)
  6. Thanks but I'm on the PS4 and thought I tried that last night but I will give it a go later this afternoon.
  7. Can someone please tell me what it means to hide your tackle? And how in the world do you do it? Thanks in advance for all of your help! Sue
  8. I just joined the forum and I hope someone can help me. I am looking for the sticking manual. I finally found it but I can't open the PDF. I get the error message that the file is corrupt or damaged. I'm pretty computer literate and I have tried everything that I know to do with no success. I have been on Fishing Planet for what seems forever but this game is totally different and I am lost. The next question is can you edit your avatar and go back to Level 1? My husband got me to level 3 but I have no idea how he did it. So again...HELP!
  9. ...leaving Fishing Planet yesterday and the only thing that kept me from going with another program is I've worked my butt off and finally hit Level 52. But I contacted Fishing Planet yesterday regarding a billing issue. It wasn't resolved and won't know for sure until our automatic drafts happen in July and this tidbit of info was only given after I did about three hours legwork for FP's billing department. Fine, $16 isn't going to break me; it's just a matter of principle now!did everything for FP's customer support but draw them a picture. But I'll wait and Lord have mercy on them if they do it again. FYI, keep your receipts! After the charge has cleared the bank, I delete mine but all they had to do was access my husband's account and look at the dates to see what happened. But the worse thing about this whole ordeal is that my husband (AGP_Destroyer) spent five in-game days at St. Croix. His premium account was never activated by us, but he got NO premium dollars or XP's. Fishing Planet says his premium was delivered to 'his' account immediately and he never lost any premium dollars or XP's.. And for five days, plus the other places he fished, he earned the NO PREMIUM dollars and XP's. I mean I spent seven days in California and left with over $248,000 and 56,000 XP. For five days at Michigan, he earned maybe, and that's a big maybe $150,000 and practically no XP's. I never lost my premium dollars or points so you can imagine how he felt! I'm sure that the billing department have access to his data. In fact if they would have compared his data with everything I sent them, they would have seen what I was telling them. I even sent them a screen shot of the FP scoring page. Okay, vent over but if you hear of anything 'good' out there in the line of fishing, tell me. To say the least, we both have a real sour taste in our mouths!
  10. I had noticed quite a few changes in the game as far as physics go but I thought it was just me being picky. And I haven't filled my fishnet once since the update. Before, I could fill it before the in-game day was finished. And I'm glad that a few of you are having to grind to hit 54. I think it's taken me at least two weeks of fishing and still haven't hit 52. I'm so close but I expect another two days of fishing before I actually level up.
  11. I have been bedridden for the past two plus weeks and as such I've fished as I could and felt up to it. I was fishing in Alberta. Although I never finished a complete in-game day, on my third day of trying to finish out the in-game day, I returned to find that Fishing Planet had reset my day, still on day one, but I lost almost 400 pounds of fish! I didn't realize the game did this as I've never had this issue before. The word frustrating doesn't begin to describe how I felt! And since the holiday update, if I have to go to my inventory while on the lake and in the boat, when I come back to the game, supposedly in the same place where I left, my boat is positioned at the dock again and I must find my spot again. I must love the game to continue to put up with these issues!
  12. I was asking my husband last night which side of the buoy should I be on and we noticed there were no lights on the buoys or the boats. How about considering adding the red and blue lights to both? It would really enhance the reality of the game.
  13. FPdimsam, the first try I caught a trophy Largemouth Bass! Thanks!!!
  14. Thanks a bunch! I will try that later to tonight.
  15. Can / will anyone give me some tips on how to fish using the jerkbait? I have been using a stop and go with a retrieve speed of three but I'm not sure if I'm doing it correctly or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  16. Being a grandmother in poor health, I thought that I would have very little influence upon my grandsons. However, my thirteen-year-old has fallen in love with fishing planet as well as fishing with Mawmaw. Last night, his younger brother our little six-year-old Dillon, walked into the room and was so excited because he wanted to tell Mawmaw and Pawpaw that he fished yesterday morning. He managed to catch a bass, a bluegill and yet another bass. However the bluegill as he described it was very large, and fact it was "king daddy" of all bluegills. It's so nice to see the next generation of fishermen and fishergirls coming to enjoy this particular hobby. So all of you grandparents out there, never think that you do not have any type of influence over those grandbabies. And to all of you that have offered me so much help, thank you. I am passing your tips along to my grandchildren and they are finding themselves to be extremely successful in this newfound past time.
  17. Believe me when I first started the game, I was dumb as a conch, and still am at times. I always forgot about the home storage so as the others said, be sure to check there. And if not there, check your backpack. These guys (and a few gals) are eager to help and you can trust what they tell you. I didn't know about looking in the rod case myself but thankfully, I haven't lost any rods recently. I'm sure you'll find them but don't fret; while you're checking out these suggestions, you'll be surprised what else you'll stumble across! Good luck!
  18. I was online last night fishing when I had a message to come in. It was from my 13 year old grandson who just downloaded Fishing Planet. He had caught his very first fish. It wasn't but a 3.5 lb bluegill but it was a fish and he caught it without any help! Hopefully his love for fishing will continue to grow into a real life adventure for him as well. Needless to say, we have a party planned for tomorrow night. God bless his heart; he had no idea of what a minnow was so hopefully Mawmaw can share some of the tips her angling buddies have shared with her. Sorry, I know this isn't earth shattering news but I figured if anyone would appreciate it, it would be you guys!
  19. I almost released a 65 lb. blue catfish the other night and about had cardiac arrest! And I DID accidentally release a trophy rainbow trout! Talk about having a hissy fit, I had one. Thankfully my husband had pointed this change out to me but I forgot as it had become second nature to just hit the button to keep the fish. Very frustrating to say the least!!!
  20. Yeah, it would be nice to know how the arrows affect us as far as the XP points. Unless I am fishing in a pond / lake known for smaller fish, I usually err on the heavy side. Of course, I tend to go for the heavier fish too. My husband likes to go for anything that's biting regardless of the size, but nothing makes me happier than landing 99 lb alligator gar in Louisiana or a 75 lb blue cat in Michigan or even a 55 lb sturgeon in California. I mean I'll take the smaller fish but I much prefer the larger ones simply due to the fight. Thanks for the input too!
  21. I'm not an expert by any means. I mainly fish to salvage my sanity due to poor health so as I said, I'm definitely not an expert. But I normally fish in the same locations as I do during the day. (I've also had some great tips from other players!) And basically use the same bait. However, I found that if I can't get any bites on live bait, I switch to the lures and stay with the night lures. My husband swears by the glow worm at the river for bass! Good luck! You can add me as a friend if you like...
  22. Good morning anglers! I don't think I will ever completely understand Fishing Planet ins and outs. I understand the red arrows pointing left mean that your XP are decreased, however I have no idea of telling how much. But last night I noticed green arrows pointing to the right in the same location after some fish that I caught. Can anyone tell me the reasoning behind the green ones? I'm thinking the XP might be increased but how much, or is that even possible to tell? Thanks in advance for any explanation anyone can offer. Sue
  23. This isn't to get away from the bugs on the PS4. I was simply interested in knowing if it might be worth downloading Steam to play the game and wanted your thoughts. With my health issues, I can't always get in front of the PS4.
  24. Since I seem to find every bug known to man in FP, I had considered trying the PC version. I wanted to see what the overall opinion around here might be? If you have used it, what did you like about it? Less bugs, more bugs (God forbid), maneuverability better or worse? Just thinking about testing the waters.
