They had it nailed with the Xmas event, that was superb fun with everyone working together.

This one is 3 or 4 level 40s all crowded into the same peg fishing the same little spot.

I think you're forgetting all the bullheads stuffed in my keepnet!xD

  2. I have a slight issue with the comps but it has little to do with cheating. It is the huge factor of luck. A recent walleye comp (3 best) I was in, the winner had 3 over 16lb uniques. I think that happens not through cheating but a good day of RNG. Hell, I won a LMB comp because I caught 2 big uniques doing nothing but a 2 speed twitch. RNG smiled on me that comp. However, I would much rather someone win because they are just the better fisherman than to enter a comp hoping on luck. I have seen the usual names at comps practicing beforehand, so they put the time and effort in.

Question on the days and licenses.

Sometimes I have several hours to play at a time and other times I may not log in for a few days.  The licenses appear to work in real time, but what about the trip days?  I've been doing 1 day trips all the time because I don't know if I'll be able to log in the next real time day.  If the licenses go by real time but the trip time does not, does that mean you have to keep reupping the license every time you log in?

The in game days only advance while playing. You only need to pay for 1 day travel as you can extend as much as you like at 5 am when you sell your fish. Don't hit leave, just exit the game and you come back where you left off.

  4. I responded to your first post on the entirely different thread very civilly. But you come onto a second thread with the same m.o. They're different threads but the same forum and the same people responding to them. They don't occur in a vacuum.  Listen to me, don't listen to me.....that's fine. If you say it was a lighthearted remark, ok. But that's not how it was taken by many on here.

  5. First, critiquing the efficacy of an internet forum poll is an exercise in futility. Second, any constructive criticism you gave was lost with your opening sentence. In another thread your first post was something like "you guys are clearly not anglers". Now the intersection of people who play Assassin's Creed and those who actually are assassins is probably small. But the intersection of those who play Fishing Planet and those who actually fish is probably large. You made an assumption about people who you know nothing about. And saying "you guys are clearly not anglers" is basically calling them stupid. Your critique is lost by your opening much the way you can smack someone on the back of the head and say Pay Attention! but they won't pay attention. All they will do is think about how you just smacked them. If you tell someone their cooking sucks but here's how to fix it, again, they focus on the first part and you're probably not getting invited over for dinner anymore. Your posts are the equivalent of walking into a room full of people with both middle fingers raised. No matter what you say after that, they justifiably are going to focus on the double birds. You can open a peanut with a hammer but it's not really efficient.

You guys are clearly not anglers. You do realize that this a fishing simulator, right?

Yes, it is a simulator but it's still a game. Race car drivers would eventually get bored playing Forza. Whether you agree with him or not, he is a dream customer for the devs. He buys all the dlcs and he offers help both on the forum, and during the game. Him, J. Mitchell, and Hate_ful are probably the main reason I didn't quit playing when I was frustrated. And then I spent real money on the game. FP is a ftp game but it's also a business. VV is just giving the devs consumer input on something he obviously enjoys playing.

I myself just came off a 3 day expedition to the Everglades, and was without a doubt, the most succesful trip to Florida to date. I fished in one place the whole time using two outfits, and 3 lures. My Aurora 8'2" w/Espira ML3000SE 10lb test, and my Jiggwinner 7'10" w/Espira ML 3500 12lb test. The three lures were, being the max casting weight on both these rods is 5/8oz and 3/4oz, the 3' 3/0 crawlcrank, the 3/4oz 3/0 red devil spoon and 3/4oz 3/0 green watermelon bass jig. I exclusivley fished the Lily Pad channel from the left hand side of the dock and casting to my "right" up the left hand side between the reeds and the lily pad patch, (opposite, and 180 degress, of the boat location). In the morning I used the 3/0 crank, and the afternoon the 3/0 spoon mixed with the 3/0 bass jig. I'm using a technique I call the "double clutch" and the "double clutch stop and burn" lol. It works for me like this. Cast up the left hand side between the reeds and the lily pad patch. Max cast for me is about 180'. Begin your retreive on speed two for a few turns of the reel, and swith to speed one for a couple of turns, and back to speed two (the double clutch). I've noticed there are three strike zones in this area. One at about 125' to 90', which brings you across the point at the edge of the reeds. About 70' to 50', which puts you running parallel along the lily pad patch. And from 50' on into 10' or less of the dock. If you haven't gotten hooked up using the "double clutch" by the time you hit 80' of so, switch to the "double cluth stop and burn", which is the same as the double clutch, but it goes speed 2, speed 1, stop for a second, speed 3 (the burn) just for a crank or two, and repeat beginning at speed 1. If you didn't hook up then, don't give up just yet. I never give up on a cast because I've caught to many fish right at the end of the retrieve. From 50' on in to the dock, mix it up a bit. When using the spoon and jig, I start with a lift and drop till I hit 80', then swith to a stop and go till I hit 50', and then back to the lift and drop. Once again if you haven't hooked up, don't give up, mix it up when you get close to the dock. There was at least 6 times that I caught 10+ bass in a row, and then strike out on a cast, and then catch 5 or 6 in a row, and so on. So the results of this method landed me two Uni's over 11lbs., a boat load of trophies, and just a bunch of bass in general. All three days I was letting fish go one after the other because I was maxed at 330lbs. All in all, three days, about 90 to 95k, give or take.

Tried this method tonight...oh my did the bass not stand a chance! The crank and the jig both worked wonders. Tons of trophy but no uni. 😤 Uni FL largemouth get together and laugh at me.

  8. Was fishing with someone earlier who caught 3 unique largemouth bass in short order. When asked he said he used a 2 speed 3 dot popper technique. I have searched and searched and can't find any video showing 3 dots while popping. Anyone done it?

Well Bill, I only have the unlimited license for Florida, which I've had for maybe two months. And I haven't noticed any decrease in production, and I was there just a couple of days ago.

I can't speak for Violentvole, but I believe he has all the unlimited licenses. I fish with him on a daily basis, and haven't heard him mention anything about a decrease. I have no idea, but I'll be sure to ask around the posse and see if anyone has noticed a decline using the unlimiteds.

I've had the Texas unlimited from as soon as I could afford it. Fishing was fine there for a while but I did notice that when I went back there after places like OR, or CO that it did seem harder to farm bass there. Just anecdotal, not hard evidence though.

Before I start, this is not a self praise thread. The point of the thread is the result so bear with me..

I jumped on for an hour after work ( always seems to turn into 2 hours! I digress ). Was doing my own thing when a friend enters the room who was having...issues, regarding a uni.

In the course of chat I mentioned something all us regs take as given and well known. Not 5 minutes later, bang! That uni dropped for him. I didn't mention location, time, weather or anything like that. Just mentioned something we all take as a given these days. He did all the work required, I was just making my way through fifty or sixty 40lb gar doing my own thing.

I think I resemble this post!  It's all true.  The thing mentioned was something as simple as the presentation of crankbait. I've said before, i'm no real life fisherman. And the videos on cranks all show a strike in milliseconds of casting so no help there. VV is right, I put in a lot of hours trying for that SOB LMB and I could've kept grinding on it until I eventually got it. But he took the time to offer some advice and answer some questions and BOOM, three casts later my white whale is vanquished! BTW, there should be whales in FP. Like VV said, you gotta do the work (I have copies of ubersheet, charts, and even a map of the docks in LA) but it's nice knowing someone will take the time to help out when all else fails.

VV--self praise all you want, you earned it.

  11. Wow! Do the guys on here know their fishing! 5 minutes talking to violentvole and I caught not one but two of my nemesis Uni Largemouth Bass! Your help is much appreciated!

And he didn't even laugh at me when I lost my 8' crank on probably another uni when I accidentally equipped the wrong rod!

I give a lot of credit to you guys that are getting all of these uniques completed.  My experience so far is I’m in the right spot, at the right time, with the right bait/lure, and I still can’t catch them.  Even spending many real time hours trying.  It takes a lot of time and patience to complete all of those and I congratulate you and Jim for all that hard work!

Agree with every bit of this. The frustration and the credit.

  13. I have spent weeks (rt) looking for the Uni LMB in Florida. Tried every time on the ubersheet and what youtube shows. Every bait/lure recommended. I've caught a dozen trophies over 8 lbs. and lots more under that.I understand it's a RNG thing and all and will keep at it. Putting aside the fact that both places probably run off the same RNG, did anyone find it easier to catch in LA?
