  1. Left Alberta, too many issues. This does help soothe the pain some.

I guess not very. But I bought a pack that included the Cosmocast 6'3" and the Cyclone 6500 Sport. They matched those, not me. I just picked the line. I lost a lure on an insta snap where the rod and reel indicators were still blue. Not even gonna use it in Alberta with the size of the fish, not that it casts far enough to catch most fish there anyways.

Thanks for the replies. I will keep at it. Gotta give the developers credit. They made a fishing game fun for someone who never really fished and gets physically ill just to smell fish cooking!
  4. Does the rod appear as you approach the water? What area are you at?

Not sure what you mean. Reel indicator barely moved but line went straight to red. I admit I don't know much about fishing. I grew up on a 3 acre lake and thought fishing was tying some line to an empty 2 litre bottle and waiting!

They do know their stuff! My 20 lb braid almost got snapped by a 4 lb brook trout on the 2nd drag setting. Might be a bug. I need to go back to Florida!

Lures over 1 oz. 1.5 oz medium spoon. 300 ft of 40 lb flouro or 20 lb braid gets me no more than 120 feet. The Cosmocast 6'3" which i know longer rod = longer cast. But my main issue is what depth to retrieve at.
  8. I thought I had improved my lure retrieves but Alberta is confusing me. Should the lure go all the way down to the bottom? Stop and go and twitch all look very strange. I broke down and got the Sport Heavy Casting package but it only casts 100 feet. Any help would be appreciated.
  9. In Florida, trying and for the life of me can't get the uni LMB. My crankbait game needs work.
  10. I'm really not trying hard for uniques. I have started to pay attention to some of their times and if I remember I adjust accordingly. Currently in Fl. And making great money with the peacock and LMB. Tons of trophies but no uniques.
  11. I'm a little embarrassed to say I apparently caught one and don't remember it. Says I used the purple #1/0 narrow spoon. If I did it then it must be pretty random.
  12. I've been to Michigan and done Pike Alley. I go to Texas to practice techniques and just enjoy the fishing with no time constraints. I don't always have the time to fill 100 lbs. Today I practiced my new frog lure and made $6000. It's a game and games are supposed to be fun --Mr. Baseball
  13. Agree totally. I haven't spent $1 and got to level 35 so far. You're gonna have to grind a little like he said but it's still fun. Get to where you can buy a rod capable of bring in 4 lb fish and you can farm NY and Oregon. I haven't even gone after the really big fish yet. Still building my gear. Level 35 and still grinding spotted bass in Texas. And I have 100 coins I barely use. You'll get there.
  14. I caught nothing but sauger one night from the shore by the rock wall. 60 ft out with worms and even minnows. No uni though. Twitching worked for me too.
  15. I hadn't really tried fishing for uniques before. But at the end of a New York grinding trip with some shiners left I decided to try. By reading old posts on here and watching a couple of videos, I got this guy in 1 hour of gt. Keep posting those tips. They really do work!
  16. It has happened to me too a few times. My advice....catch what other fish you can, pickerel pay ok, and come back the next day. You can make back the $500 fairly quickly.
  17. You're spot on about the cash. Haven't been to Florida yet but Michigan sure did make me some money! The Nero came in handy there. Saving now for a bigger spin rod to land those big Northern Pike.
  18. Thanks for replying. I don't fight the fish very long. Just use enough drag to get a steady pace of return. Usually 4/6 setting. And yes, I am on day 3 with a 110 lb stringer. Not concerned how much wear, just the rod more than the line. Also, I have the Nero 14' 10" with EspiraMLR 3500 but it hurts my experience pts here.
  19. I'm using the Wincast 2500 reel. Currently in Colorado catching 2.5 rainbow trout. Level 33. The indicators seem normal with line going highest, then rod, the reel. The rod indicator never gets in the red. Started trip at all 100%. Now line is at 68%, rod 65%, and reel 76%.
  20. Wondering if I might be doing something wrong. My line and my rod seem to be wearing down at the same pace. I am using 6lb flouro and the Omnifloat 14' 10" which is rated to 7.5 lbs. Could I be reeling in incorrectly??
