[XBOX/UWP] Back to Basics - First Levels Rework - Release Note Hey Anglers, Back to Basics: First Levels Rework is finally available on XBOX! Completely reworked Lone Star Lake, your own House with a Trophy Room to show off your best catches - it’s all waiting for you in the game! Alongside the reworked first levels, the update also brings a wide range of quality-of-life improvements, visual enhancements, and gameplay refinements across Fishing Planet. To celebrate the release, log in to claim your Lone Star Welcome Box*. Place it inside your House to receive a set of special Texas lures. Then check the Personal Offers tab each week for even more free rewards. The full Release Note is here: Lone Star Lake The updated Lone Star Lake now offers much more territory to discover. The waterway has been expanded with four locations: Home Sweet Home, Kayak Rentals, Lakeside Grill Area, and Beaver Dam. Kayaks are now available here as well, so whether you rent one on-site or bring your own, you'll have plenty of opportunities to explore the lake and reach new fishing spots. Angler's House and Trophy Room The Home Sweet Home location at Lone Star Lake finally lives up to its name. You will now have a personal house that you can actually enter and walk around in. Inside, you'll find a spacious Trophy Room with plenty of space to display your finest catches, achievements and Mounts collected from waterways all around the world. The house and its surroundings have a bunch of interactive objects, so be sure to explore and discover them all. Brand-new StarRanger™ Trolling Kayak We’re introducing an entirely new type of kayak to the game: the StarRanger™ Pedal Trolling Kayak. Since the kayak is powered by your feet, there’s no need to stop and recover stamina while moving across the water. The StarRanger™ also comes equipped with two rod holders, letting you troll with up to three rods at once and maximize the amount of fish, XP, and Credits you can earn during every trip. To make things even better, the kayak features a built-in Echo Sounder, helping you locate fish more efficiently and making trolling easier and much smarter. The new trolling kayak is available in the StarRanger Kayak Pack, which also includes 7 days of Premium, extra Baitcoins, 20 Marker Buoys, Storage Extensions, Repair Kits, and unlimited Advanced Licenses for Lone Star Lake, Mudwater River, and Emerald Lake for you to always be covered on these waters! As always, a rental kayak will also be available at the location. The Outrider™ Trolling Kayak at Lone Star Lake will be at players’ service for those who want to experience pedal-powered navigation and trolling across the lake whenever they wish. A New Tutorial & Adventure Missions We’ve completely reworked the Tight Lines tutorial to make the first steps in Fishing Planet more engaging and intuitive. Beginning at Lone Star Lake, Kayak Rentals, it guides newcomers through the game’s core mechanics, including casting, landing fish, traveling between pins, and selling their catch. The Tutorial grows into Adventure Missions. Follow mission chains that guide you through the adventures assignments and help you discover the best fishing spots, and reward you with upgraded firmware for Tablet. The missions start at Lone Start and continue at Lesni Vila Fishery. Now let’s go and check out what’s been done in other locations. Mudwater River, Lesní Víla, Rocky Lake, Quanchkin, Ghent-Terneuzen Canal You’ll now be able to take your kayaks to Mudwater River as well or rent one right there. The bite map of the location has been updated, and predator trolling has been added to the river. Lesní Vila Fishery has been spruced up visually and now also has its own chain of Adventure Missions, along with a reworked bite map and numerous visual improvements across the waterway, including updated terrain and shoreline areas, giving you a great reason to explore this location all over again. Complete the missions to unlock the Tablet Firmware “Lesní Víla Map” with a detailed map of the waterway! Rocky Lake, Quanchkin Lake, and Ghent-Terneuzen Canal have also received a variety of tweaks and improvements, including bite rate adjustments, new fish species, and many other small enhancements. Please note that Lone Star Lake and Lesní Vila Fishery have been completely redesigned. As a result, any marker buoys previously placed on these waterways are no longer relevant. To avoid confusion, all marker buoys have been removed from these locations and returned to your inventory, allowing you to place them again and mark your new favorite fishing spots. The fish bite system on Ghent-Terneuzen Canal has also been significantly reworked, which means some of your existing marker buoys may no longer be in the most productive locations. However, since the waterway itself has not been redesigned, we have not removed any markers. We recommend reviewing your existing buoy placements and updating them as needed to match the new fish behavior. New Fish Species A total of 6 new freshwater fish species are making their way into Fishing Planet, each finding a new home across different waterways. Lone Star Lake welcomes Threadfin Shad, Yellow Bass, and the iconic Guadalupe Bass, a species endemic to Texas, which will be available there in all three fish forms, including Unique! At Mudwater River, Anglers can now target Shortnose Gar, while Rocky Lake gains Greenback Cutthroat Trout and Longnose Dace. Quanchkin Lake also gets a new resident, with Yellow Bass now swimming in its waters as well. Some of the fish species across all these waterways received additional fish forms, so you can go ahead and check out the locations' fish lists to find what’s been added. New Competitions & New Achievements From now on the competitive spirit will start from the map one! You can try chasing Bass from a kayak, targeting Buffalo with precision, or competing for the best Sunfish score at Lone Star Lake, or go for a mud battle to fight toothy gar at Mudwater River. There have been two new Achievements added catch all fish species of unique form: Senior Limnologist at Lone Star Lake and Hydrobiologist-engineer of the Lesní Víla Fishery. New Bait and Lures Every angler loves new baits and shiny tackle, and this update brings a few new additions to your tackle box! We’ve added three new color variations for Bass Jigs, a new Dragonfly Nymph bait, and three Texas-themed lures that you can claim from the Lone Star Welcome Box absolutely free! A More Immersive Environment With this release, we’ve started a gradual rework of the game’s overall sound design. Lone Star Lake, Lesní Víla Fishery, Mudwater River, Rocky Lake, Emerald Lake, Neherrin River, Ghent-Terneuzen Canal and White Moose Lake have received completely updated ambient audio, including new bird, wind, rain, weather, and various other in-game sounds. This is just the beginning, and we’ll continue improving and updating audio across more locations in future releases until all waterways are brought up to the new standard. For the best experience, we recommend starting with all audio sliders set to maximum. Once you’ve explored the new ambient sounds, feel free to tweak the settings and create your own perfect balance. In addition, we've Improved Audio Controls by introducing a dedicated Sound Effects volume slider, and renamed the Sound Volume to Master Volume, that now controls the overall game audio. UI changes Inventory Sorting We are continuing to improve the Inventory sorting and navigation, and it now includes a new All Items category with an expand/collapse option, making it much easier to browse through large item lists without opening every section manually. We’ve also added a Search feature, so you can quickly find a specific item or item group by name instead of scrolling through the whole inventory. Managing items between the Backpack and HomeStorage has also become more convenient. You can now move entire subcategories between storage tabs, with a confirmation window showing what will be moved and how much space is available. Individual items can be moved in one click, without an extra confirmation step. We’ve improved the Equipment setup flow to make tackle assembly more intuitive for beginner players. Placeholder icons now better reflect the required item types, equipment rules are more consistent across different setups, and hints provide clearer guidance when something is missing or equipped in the wrong order. This update also adds automatic category switching when selecting empty equipment slots, making it easier to find the right items for your setup. Results & Progression Window Improvements We’ve redesigned the results screens to make the end-of-day and trip summaries more informative and easier to read. Rewards, catches, location details, and completed challenges are now presented more clearly. A new Level Up window has also been added to better celebrate progression and show newly unlocked content and the next location to look forward to. Time Forward Window Improvements The Time Forward window now is easier to understand. The chart shows Fish Activity, so it’s more obvious what the graph represents, and Next Morning was renamed to Next Day to be more clear. We also added a reminder that all fish will be sold when moving to the next day. Shop UI Improvements We’ve improved the in-game Shop to make browsing and comparing items easier. The top navigation is now cleaner, filters are better organized, and search and sorting controls are more convenient to use. We’ve also updated controller navigation in the Shop to make it more consistent with other main game sections. Submenu navigation, item selection, search, sorting, 3D preview, and item description scrolling now have clearer controller mappings, making the Shop easier to browse with a controller. On top of that, we’ve expanded the local shops at Lesni Villa, Mudwater, and Ghent-Terneuzen Canal with a wider selection of items, giving you more useful options when shopping at these waterways. On Lone Star, the local shop now matches the Global Shop in assortment and prices, helping players explore the full range of available items while getting familiar with how different shop types work. Setup Compatibility Finding the right gear combination now will become much easier. When browsing tackle in the Shop, simply click the Rods button to bring up a list of rod and reel types that work with the selected item. Everything is displayed in one place, helping you compare options more easily and build compatible setups with less effort. Full List of Premium Benefits Over the past few years, the list of Premium benefits has continued to grow as new features have been added to the game. To reflect these additions, we've updated the Premium description in-game. Let's take a look at the complete list of benefits that Premium now provides: CORE BENEFITS * +50% XP from Fish Catches * +50% Credits from Fish Sales * +1 Daily Mission * -50% Forward Time Cooldown SPEED & CONVENIENCE * -50% Navigation Buoy teleport cooldown * -50% Groundbait Mixing Time * -50% Groundbait Load Time * -50% Repair costs FREE PERKS * Double Rewards on Level Up and Rank * Free Marker Buoy painting * Free Competition registration * Free Boat Rental * Free Daily Mission regeneration PREMIUM FEATURES * Fishing Together: grant Captain Role to other players * Fishing Together Session continues while Captain is offline If you haven't taken a look at Premium recently, now is a great time to see just how many benefits it includes. Hey Anglers, We have just rolled out a Bug Fix Patch that brings a range of fixes, quality-of-life improvements, performance optimization, and usability enhancements designed to make your experience smoother and more enjoyable. We've addressed several highly prioritized issues affecting gameplay and visuals. These fixes include restoring missing bell sounds on rod stands, improving the appearance of Marker Buoys, and resolving an issue that prevented some players from placing their Frankenfish Mount in the Trophy Room. In addition, we've Improved Audio Controls by introducing a dedicated Sound Effects volume slider, and renamed the Sound Volume to Master Volume, that now controls the overall game audio. We've also improved the Shop experience by renaming the Rods button to Setups, making it easier to check tackle compatibility before making a purchase. Hey Anglers, Back to Basics - First Levels Rework is LIVE on Steam and Epic Games, and it’s the perfect time to rediscover Fishing Planet all over again! Lone Star Lake has been completely reworked from the ground up, and that’s just the beginning. This update also brings plenty of improvements to other locations, along with a variety of gameplay enhancements across the game. Anglers now finally have their own home with the Trophy Room to show off their great catches! To celebrate the release, go ahead and log into the game to grab the Lone Star Welcome Box*, place it inside your new House and receive your special Texas lures to soak in the spirit of good old Texas. . Moreover, during the next four weeks you will be able to claim even more exclusive gifts from the Personal Offers tab. You will eventually get plus 4 gift boxes full of fishing goodies, each arriving once a week. Now, let’s take a look at what’s new in this update! Watch the Update Trailer on YouTube and write a comment under the video to get a chance to win one of three StarRanger Kayak Packs! Lone Star Lake The updated Lone Star Lake now offers much more territory to discover. Hey Anglers, The Fishing Planet Boat Series Tournament is back, bringing a full week of competitive predator fishing across the waterways of the USA and Germany. Grab your favorite spinning or casting setup, launch your boat or kayak, and compete for the heaviest catches of Bass, Pike, Carp, Zander, and more. Please note that all Qualifiers will take place from 6 PM UTC to 12 AM UTC and will end two hours earlier than in previous years. This schedule adjustment is required for technical reasons and applies only to the 2026 tournament. Before registering, please take a moment to review the Competitive Activities Rules. Hey Anglers, As many of you know, we recently released the Catch & Compete Update, bringing a variety of quality-of-life improvements and new daily activities to enjoy in Fishing Planet. But we’re not stopping there, we're continuing to improve and reimagine the overall player experience. This time, our attention is on the early-game stages and the first-level waterways. That’s why this update has a simple and straightforward name: First Levels Rework. Let’s take a sneak peak at what we’ve been cooking up. All Roads Lead to Lone Star Our stats show that many players keep returning to Lone Star Lake long after they’ve unlocked higher-level locations and new destinations to explore. That’s why we wanted to create a cozier space for you guys to actually feel at home here. The waterway is being completely reworked: significantly expanded in size with now four new locations and kayaks allowed on the water. There is much more to explore, so keep on reading. We’ve also reworked the Tight Lines tutorial to make the first steps in Fishing Planet much more engaging for new players learning the game’s core mechanics. Home Sweet Home Yes, you’ll finally have a real Home of your own—one you can actually enter and walk around in! Inside, you’ll find a spacious Trophy Room, one of the most requested features by players of all time. There’ll be plenty of space to show off your finest catches, including the Mounts you’ve brought back from waterways all around the world. Kayak Rentals It’s a small spot where any angler can rent a completely new to the game type of kayak. It is pedal-powered, meaning your character’s hands stay free so you can keep fishing while moving non-stop across the water. It will also come equipped with rod holders, allowing you to troll directly from the kayak. Set off and move through shallow waters, glide over grass flats, and paddle into quiet coves. Out here, you’ll find spots that stay out of reach from the shoreline, opening up even more opportunities to catch a wider variety of fish. Lakeside Grill Area Lakeside Grill Area is a lively part of Lone Star where people from all over the state come to relax, gather by the water, and enjoy a good barbecue and picnic. Here, you’ll be able to begin a brand-new chain of Adventure Missions that will guide you through the updated Lone Star and help you discover fishing spots along the way. Complete them to earn the updated Tablet Firmware “Lone Star Map” as your reward, unlocking a much more detailed water map of the lake! Beaver Dam Beaver Dam is a rough area of the lake shaped by the natural activity of local beavers. Fallen trees and small dams create shallow cover that smaller fish like to hide in. Explore this quiet lake bay, but be careful with your casts, as the local beavers have scattered fallen trees all around the area, both above and below the water. There’s also a small island now hidden behind the dam. If you manage to make your way there, you’ll find an Insect Hotel tucked among the wild nature. Visit it once a day to collect a free bait reward before heading back out onto the water! Mudwater River, Lesní Víla, Quanchkin, Rocky Lake, Ghent-Terneuzen Canal While Lone Star Lake received a complete rework, some of the following locations also got a few updates and improvements. You’ll now be able to take your kayaks to Mudwater River as well or rent one right there. The bite map of the location will be updated, and predator trolling has been added to the river. Now, let’s get to the fish - the part every angler is always most excited to discover. Guadalupe Bass Guadalupe Bass is a freshwater predatory fish native to Texas. Lone Star Lake will be the only location in the game where you will find this pretty fish. It prefers well-oxygenated waters with rocky or gravel bottoms. Its diet typically consists of small fish, crustaceans, and aquatic insects. It responds well to live bait, small lures, and natural baits, which makes it a popular and engaging target for sport fishing. Depending on the time of day and feeding activity, Guadalupe Bass can hunt from the bottom to the surface. It is most active during daylight hours, when its energetic feeding behavior is easiest to observe. Threadfin Shad Threadfin Shad will also be added to Lone Star Lake. It is a small freshwater forage fish commonly found in warm lakes, ponds, and slow-moving rivers. It plays a crucial role in aquatic ecosystems as a key food source for larger predatory fish and is often used as a natural bait. Threadfin Shad is typically found in the mid-water layers and near the surface, where it forms dense schools. The species is mainly active during daylight hours, moving in tight schools as it feeds. Yellow Bass Yellow Bass will be added to Lone Star and Quanchkin Lake. It is a freshwater predatory fish that thrives in warm lakes, reservoirs, and calm sections of rivers. Yellow Bass feeds mainly on small fish, as well as crustaceans and other aquatic invertebrates. It responds well to live bait and worms. Most often found in the mid-water layer, it will rise closer to the surface during feeding periods. The species is mainly active during daylight hours, with peak biting activity occurring in the early morning and late evening. Shortnose gar Shortnose Gar is a new inhabitant of Mudwater River, it prefers slow-moving rivers and shallow warm lakes with abundant vegetation. Shortnose Gar feeds primarily on small fish and juvenile specimens of other species, occasionally taking crustaceans and large aquatic insects. It is most often encountered in the upper water layers and responds well to live bait. The species is mainly active during daylight hours, when it can be seen patrolling quietly near the surface before striking its prey. Greenback Cutthroat Trout Greenback Cutthroat Trout is a rare and highly valued freshwater trout native to Rocky Lake, Colorado. It lives in cold well-oxygenated waters and feeds mainly on aquatic and land-based insects, as well as invertebrate larvae. Larger individuals may also hunt small fish and crustaceans. Greenback Cutthroat Trout responds well to natural baits and artificial lures, especially insect imitations, and often feeds at the surface during insect hatches. Its activity is strongest during daylight hours and around dusk. Longnose Dace Longnose Dace is a freshwater fish adapted to well-oxygenated cold waters with rocky bottoms and is a perfect addition to Rocky Lake. It serves as an important forage fish for larger predators. Longnose Dace is usually found near the bottom, where it feeds mainly on small aquatic invertebrates, insect larvae, and organic matter. The species is most active during daylight hours. New Bait and Lures Every angler loves new baits and pretty shiny trinkets. You will get a few in this update as well! Dragonfly Nymphs inhabit shallow freshwater areas with dense vegetation, reed beds, fallen branches, and muddy bottoms. As a natural part of the food chain, they make an excellent bait for predatory fish species, especially Bass that actively feed near cover and shoreline structures. Popular Bass Jigs have also received several new vibrant color variations, expanding the available palette further. As for the lures, you will get three Spoons that will always bring a little piece of good ol’ Texas fishing spirit wherever the water takes you! And there’s a little surprise waiting for you with them, so stay tuned! A Few More Things With this release, we’ve started a gradual rework of the game’s overall sound design. We’ve also been working on a lot of smaller quality-of-life improvements. Inventory management is getting more convenient with item search, quicker category filtering when equipping gear, and the ability to move items between your Backpack and Home Storage either individually or in bulk. You’ll also notice improvements across various UI windows, making navigation and everyday tasks feel smoother. Premium Account anglers will notice a few extra benefits as well. Beyond the well-known XP and Credit boosts, Premium comes with plenty of quality-of-life perks, including lower repair costs, faster groundbait mixing time, free boat rentals and competition registration, extra Daily Missions, and several advantages for Fishing Together sessions. With the addition of free Marker Buoy painting and free Daily Mission regeneration, Premium is now more rewarding. This update is all about making Fishing Planet more enjoyable and accessible for everyone. With numerous quality-of-life improvements and a more beginner-friendly experience for new anglers, we're laying the foundation for an even better journey from the very first cast. Best of all, these improvements will be available to all players for free. We can't wait for you to try the update and share your feedback with us on the water! Hey Anglers, Fishing Planet’s Catch & Compete Update has officially arrived on Xbox and UWP, bringing a whole new level of competition and quality-of-life improvements to your fishing adventures! Dive in and try out a more transparent and comprehensive Competitive Rating and Matchmaking System, brand-new Rewarding Leaderboards, long-awaited Daily Missions and Colored Buoys that add a new layer of activity to your time on the water. Now take a closer look at what’s new in Fishing Planet! Daily Missions Daily Missions are time-limited tasks that refresh every day, giving players a great opportunity to earn additional XP, Baitcoins and Club Tokens on a daily basis! They are available from level 10. Each day, you can get up to three missions with assignments based on your level and recent activity. Missions are split into Daily Catch, available to all players, Club Catch for those in a club, and Premium Catch for players with an active Premium account. Long-awaited Colored Buyos Colored Buoys are finally here, making it easier than ever to keep your favorite fishing spots organized. Choose from eight vibrant colors and set them up your way—mark Uniques, Trophies, Competition catches, and regular fishing spots with different colors so you can tell them apart at a glance. Organize everything in whatever way works best for you. On your tablet, you can quickly switch colors through the buoy menu and use color filters to show only what you need. You can also filter buoys by color right on your tablet, so it’s easy to focus only on the spots you need at the moment. And if you want to clear things up, you can hide all markers and get a clean view of the water. This feature will be completely free on Lone Star Lake, Texas and Lesni Villa, The Czech Republic, so you can try different ways of organizing your buoys and figure out what works best for you before heading to other locations. All players also have a few free color changes available, so you can experiment without spending anything and get comfortable with the system at your own pace. For Premium players, changing Marker Buoy colors will remain free on every waterway in the game. Enjoy! An increased Marker Buoy limit With this update, we’re also increasing the Marker Buoy limit from 2000 to 2500. We know some players were really looking forward to it! If you’re curious to learn more about how Colored Buoys work and what’s new with Daily Missions, make sure to check out the DevDiary: Colored Buoys and Daily Missions New Competitive Rating and Matchmaking System We’re introducing a new Competitive Rating System to make competitions more transparent. The number of Rating Points you earn depends on your final placement, and you can always check exactly how many points each position gives in the Competition Details under the Rewards tab. If you already have a Competitive Rating, it stays with you, so you’ll simply continue from where you left off before this Update. On top of that, Competitions now match you with players of a similar Competitive Rating! You’ll compete within your own group, with a separate results board, making it easier to track your progress and fight for top spots. Please note that Matchmaking works best when enough players register for a competition. If participation is too low, the system cannot divide anglers into balanced groups, which means experienced players may still end up competing against newcomers. To create fair matchups, the system needs to know in advance how many participants will actually take part in each competition. That is why registering for a competition without participating will result in a rating penalty. If you want to get a better idea of how Competitive Rating works and how Matchmaking now groups you with players closer to your level, check out the DevDiary: Competitive Rating and Matchmaking New Rewarding Leaderboards Leaderboards are finally rewarding! With this update, we are introducing three main Leaderboards: Global, Competition, and Fish, each with its own filters and views. You can track your progress by week, month, or year, sort by XP, fish types like Young, Common, Trophy, or Unique, locations and see top players by catches or XP gained. Altogether, this creates 1000+ leaderboard combinations, so you can play smart and aim for the amazing rewards like X-Series items, Premium Account, Club Tokens, Baitcoins, Credits, brand-new exclusive items, and more! Keep in mind that Competition Leaderboards offer the highest rewards of them all, giving you and your friends even more reason to jump into Competitions if you haven’t tried them yet. Please, be aware that Leaderboards refresh every Monday, on the 1st day of each month, and on January 1, with rewards granted right before each reset. Please note, that the previous Leaderboards will disappear, but don’t worry about your records - they all are stored in your profile, so you will always have access to the information about the biggest fish you caught. To find more details on how the new Leaderboards work and what kind of rewards you can earn, check out the DevDiary: New Rewarding Leaderboards Update to the fish weight distribution algorithm We’ve refined fish weight distribution to make catches more consistent across the Leaderboards. Please note that all adjustments are calibrated in kilograms, so any issues you may notice in pounds could be caused by rounding during the conversion from kilograms. If you spot any inaccuracies of this kind, you’re always welcome to contact Support. Some players noticed before that previous changes to the weight distribution algorithm also affected how Groundbait Mixes performed, especially for species like Carp. We’re happy to share that this has now been reworked, and with the updated algorithm, the so-called and known among players “carp oversizing” is back. Get your best recipes ready and enjoy! Bug Fix and Improvements We’ve also made a number of fixes and improvements across the game to enhance performance, refine gameplay, and improve overall stability. Let’s dive into what’s been done in more detail: Gameplay 1. Resolved teleportation issues between pins in Norway. 2. Adjusted Congo rented motorboat spawn position to ensure proper shore access. 3. Fixed an issue where players could be moved from a private room to a random room after changing theirs. 4. Fixed FPS drops and eliminated empty hint issues when approaching boats. 5. Fixed an exploit allowing fish to be landed instantly from boats at ocean locations without a fight. 8. Improved tracking of fish depth for the Fish Habitat Depth Metrics mission. Competitions 9. From now on if players are on The Globe or on a different location when a competition starts, they will receive a window that will allow them to join the competition faster. 10. Enhanced clarity of allowed and prohibited equipment in Competition Details. 11. Updated naming of Personal Competitive Rating in the user profile. 12. Hey Anglers, Every year on April 22, people around the world come together to celebrate Earth Day. It’s a time to reflect on how much our planet gives us and a reminder that protecting it starts with the small habits we practice every day. Water lies at the heart of it all, covering nearly 70% of the Earth and supporting an incredible diversity of life. As anglers, we experience this connection more closely than most. Every time we cast a line, we see how delicate this balance is and how important it is to protect it so these waters can thrive for generations. We all know the basics: don’t leave trash behind and reduce plastic use. But there’s another side that often goes unnoticed and that’s the role anglers play in protecting the waters they fish. Practices like catch and release give fish a chance to grow and reproduce, helping populations stay strong over time. In some cases, catching invasive species is just as important, as it helps maintain the natural balance of the ecosystem. Following local limits, choosing biodegradable lines, using barbless hooks, handling fish carefully, and taking only what you truly need may seem like small actions, but together they make a real impact. Using eco-friendly transport and behaving responsibly on the water is just as important: reduce noise, operate boats carefully, and avoid damaging vegetation or disturbing aquatic wildlife. And if you simply want to have fun and go all out with your boat or gear, you can always do it in Fishing Planet, just for fun, without harming real nature. Let’s keep our waters alive and thriving together. Happy Earth Day!

Dear Anglers, Live Bait Fiesta Cup is coming up this May as usual, but we want to let you know about a few changes in this Tournament, so you can take your time and practice for the new conditions. The changes will affect the weather and in-game timing in the First Qualifier and the Final. Be aware that the weather indicated below is the weather prevailing during the day, but if it says “Rain” it doesn’t mean it necessary will rain for 10 hours in a row, there can be slight differences during the day, just like in real life and in previous Tournaments. First Qualifier - Maku-Maku Lake: Weather: Rain (previously Heavy Clouds) Time: 13:00 - 21:00 (previously 8:00 - 16:00) Final - Amazonian Maze Weather: Heavy Clouds (previously Rain) Time: 8:00 - 16:00 (previously 13:00 - 21:00) Please note, that exact measurements such as temperature, air pressure, or wind direction can’t be provided. While the weather forecast indicates general weather type (rainy, cloudy, heavy rain, sunny, etc.), the specific parameters may vary slightly and aren’t announced in advance. Players need to practice under different conditions and be ready to adjust their tactics based on the weather they encounter when the competition begins. We’ve adjusted these conditions based on players’ previous feedback to make the experience more varied and engaging. Good luck, and see you on the water! Tight lines!

Hey Anglers, We hope you enjoyed our little April 1st joke yesterday, but now it’s time to get serious about what’s really coming next. As part of the Catch & Compete Update coming this Spring, we’re continuing to reveal what’s ahead. We’ve already covered the new Rating & Matchmaking system and the Rewarding Leaderboards in our previous Dev Diaries. Today, we’re excited to introduce two long-awaited features arriving soon – Colored Buoys and Daily Missions. Let’s dive into what’s coming next! Your Buoys, Your Colors Colored Buoys have been one of the most requested features among anglers, as it can help you keep your markers and fishing spots organized. With the new update, you’ll be able to change the color of a buoy whether it marks a fish you’ve just caught or is simply an empty marker you placed earlier. The default marker color remains green, but with the new feature you will be able to change it to one of the eight available colors. To change the color, simply open your tablet, find the buoy icon on the map, and select it. This opens the buoy details panel, where you’ll see a new Brush button. Pressing it opens the color selection menu. Inside the color menu you’ll find a palette of available colors. When you open the menu, the currently selected color will already be highlighted. Once you pick the color you want, you can confirm the change and the buoy will update both on the tablet map and the 3D buoy floating in the water. Every angler can create their own buoy color system, marking Uniques and Trophies, separating casual spots from competition areas, or organizing locations however they prefer. Buoy colors can be changed anytime, with no limits. Since each player will use their own system, shared buoys will always appear in the default green color. The receiving player can then customize them as they wish or simply keep them green. Tablet Filters for Buoys When you start using multiple colors, your tablet can become a convenient organization tool. You’ll be able to filter buoys by color directly on the tablet, allowing you to show or hide specific colors whenever you want. You can also toggle the visibility of all buoys entirely if you want a clean map. These filters will reset when you restart the game or travel to another waterway, just the way they do currently. Though simple at first glance, we hope buoy coloring will be a small addition that delivers a cool quality-of-life improvement to your fishing experience. As a bonus, this update also increases the Marker Buoy limit from 2000 to 2500, something we know anglers have been looking forward to. Daily Missions When developing this feature, we focused on a few key goals: giving players daily activities to look forward to, adding variety to your fishing experience, and, most importantly, creating new, consistent ways to earn Baitcoins and Club Tokens. Daily Missions are a set of time-limited tasks that refresh every day, giving you objectives to complete and rewards to earn. Every day, you will receive up to three missions, generated by the system based on your current level and activity: - Daily Catch – available for all players - Club Catch – available for club members - Premium Catch – available to players with an active Premium account If a mission doesn’t match what you feel like doing, you can regenerate it and get a new set of tasks. Each completed mission will reward you with Experience and either Baitcoins or Club Tokens. We hope these assignments will encourage you to revisit locations you haven’t explored in a while and try new ways of catching species you may not have focused on before. We hope the entire Catch & Compete Update will give every Angler something new to bring into their experience on the water. If you’re into competition, the Competitive Rating and Matchmaking system makes the whole process feel more clear and transparent. If you enjoy seeing your progress grow and being rewarded for it, the New Rewarding Leaderboards will have you covered. And if you like experimenting, learning, and trying out different setups, Daily Missions will give you plenty of opportunities to do exactly that! We’re getting close now, so stay tuned as we head toward release and get ready to try it all for yourselves! Tight lines, and see you on the water! __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Follow us on social media to stay tuned and be in touch with our lovely community: Discord Facebook Group Instagram TikTok You are always welcome to ask for help in our support: support@fishingplanet.com *All visual content in this DevDiary is crafted to showcase the upcoming features; however, there may be differences upon the actual release of the update

Hey Anglers, We’re back with another look at the improvements coming in the Catch & Compete Update coming this Spring! In the previous Dev Diary, we introduced the new Rating and Matchmaking System. Today, we want to talk about the new Leaderboards. Leaderboards have long been part of Fishing Planet, offering a fun way to see how you measure up against other anglers. When thinking of improvements to this feature, our goal was to make everything clearer and more transparent, while also making Leaderboards more engaging and motivating to participate in. Most importantly, players will now receive rewards for reaching the top positions on the Leaderboards. With this update, Leaderboards page will feature three tabs: Global, Competitions, and Fish. Each category includes multiple options to choose from, effectively creating literally more than a thousand of different boards you can climb, allowing you to earn multiple rewards across them all. Let’s take a closer look at what will change and how the new leaderboards will work. The Global Leaderboards The Global Leaderboards Tab will include time filters for week, month, and year, so you can view rankings for each specific period. Each leaderboard only shows results from its own timeframe, and when a new period begins, the previous one is no longer displayed. Weekly Leaderboards reset every Monday, Monthly Leaderboards reset on the first day of each month, and Yearly Leaderboards restart on January 1. This means that every Sunday, every last day of each month, and on December 31, players holding top positions on the Leaderboards will receive their rewards. You can switch filters as you like and select exactly what you want to see. Simply click on the time period and choose the one you want to view. The other filter lets you choose from the list: Experience, Young, Common, Trophy, or Unique, and view the top players by the amount of XP gained during the selected period or by the number of the selected fish form caught during that time. You can also select Total Fish in the filter to see how many fish the top anglers caught during the selected period. By clicking on the position numbers, you can also see which rewards you will receive for finishing in that place. Keep in mind that Leaderboards will feature regular fish and will not include Fish Monsters, Tutorial Fish and Mission Fish. Fish you catch during competitions do count, and so does the experience you earn from them. So everything you land in normal gameplay and competitive events will still help you climb the Leaderboards. Competitions Leaderboards Competition Leaderboards work similarly to Global ones but focus specifically on competitive performance. Since competitions require more skill, experience, and practice, the rewards for top positions on these boards will be higher than on other leaderboards. They will also run on weekly, monthly, and yearly cycles, so you can track who’s dominating over different time frames. Navigating these filters works the same way as on the Global tab. In addition to choosing the time period, you can also filter by Rating or by the number of Wins in competitions. Filtering by Ratings shows the top 100 players with the highest personal competitive rating earned during the selected period. The Wins filter shows the top 100 players with the highest number of first-place finishes in competitions during the current week, month, or year. Fish Leaderboards Fish Leaderboards rank players by the record weights of specific fish species caught on a particular waterway during the current week, month, or year. When you select a location, in the next filter you will see all the fish species that can be found there, highlighted in green so they are easy to spot. It all looks quite clear and transparent, but what happens if two or more players end up with exactly the same results? When players have identical numbers on a leaderboard, the system first checks who reached that result earlier in real time. The player who achieved it first takes the higher position. If the tie still remains, the game applies extra criteria to fairly determine the final positions on the Leaderboard. Another important improvement that came alongside the new Leaderboards system is an update to the fish weight distribution algorithm. While working on Leaderboards, we also focused on improving and balancing how fish weights are generated, making the system more fair and consistent. A part of this system has already been running on our live servers, and since then it has been significantly refined. With the full release, we expect fish weights in the game to be spread more evenly. Rewards As we already mentioned in the beginning, the new Leaderboards will come with rewards. When a new period begins, players who finished in prize positions during the previous one automatically receive their rewards. These can include unique X-Series items, Premium Account time, Club Tokens, BaitCoins, Credits, and other valuable bonuses that make reaching the top more rewarding. We’re also adding brand-new exclusive items to the reward pool, making the climb up the Leaderboards even more desired. What makes this system most exciting is the sheer number of opportunities it offers. With so many fish species across all waterways in the game, there will be more than a thousand different Leaderboards. That means thousands of chances to earn rewards every week, month, and year. You can receive multiple rewards at the same time if you place on different boards for different fish or parameters. There will be something for everyone. You might focus on gaining as much XP as possible, catching large numbers of fish, landing the biggest specimens of your favorite species, or dedicating yourself to competitive activities. With the new Rating and Matchmaking system, participating will also be much easier for beginner players. We hope the new Leaderboards system adds more excitement and motivation for everyone to jump in and compete! Stay tuned for the next DevDiaries to discover more about what quality-of-life improvements and features are coming in the Catch & Compete Update this Spring. Tight lines and see you soon! ____________________________________________________________________________________________ Follow us on social media to stay tuned and be in touch with our lovely community: Discord Facebook Group Instagram TikTok You are always welcome to ask for help in our support: support@fishingplanet.com *All visual content in this DevDiary is crafted to showcase the upcoming features; however, there may be differences upon the actual release of the update
