Does anyone have any good tips for these 2 specific fish in the Everglades? I can consistently pull in most any other fish there and I can pull in Alligator Gar from Louisiana pretty regularly now. Yet I can’t find or catch the Florida gar. I’ve targeted them on a couple trips and maybe have caught 2 or 3 small ones total. Same with tarpon. I hear they are elusive but I’ve caught just 1 and have also had several trips targeting them. I usually get frustrated and switch to bass and snook to get some money in my net. Im confident I have the all the gear I need and I listen to people suggest the “hot” spots, and I try fishing peak times on fish chart. I must be using wrong tackle/lures at the wrong times/weather. Anyone got more pointers? In the mean time, I’ll keep trying!

Ok so the story is I joined this group and was fishing the infinite tunnels in Florida. I was using the farcaster 8 foot 6 with the attorney 3000 p on 10lb floro. The lure I was using was the blue/black spinner bait. I was fishing on the lowest speed and slowly twitched it back. Needless to say I was fishing for bass when this monster took my lure. It took me about 10 minuets real time to bring it in. I checked the species list but noticed it should not hit a spinnerbait and you should only get them on the salty delta. I have not caught another one since and I also added picks for proof.

Hi just for anyone that has not tried them yet buy frog lures if you can and are bass fishing they are deadly. I have had so many trophy bass on the yellow and light green frogs it is unreal also a unique. They catch all day and night. I use a very slow stop start retreive and bam fish after fish every cast :).

I am currently at L30 and fishing for LMB in Florida to make super fast money to buy gears. As the tournament is imminent I need a guide to reel those big monsters along with need to know that Michigan is profitable or not compared to Florida as I got finned 10k yesterday in Florida and I was able to make it all back in just 15-20 mins. Any suggestion would be very helpful regarding minimum gear setup etc.. Spots not required because I keep experimenting at different places with different combination.

I am done with New York (Emerald Lake). So now I want to go to different place but I am kinda confused on where to go? I don't have bigger stringer or keepnet and also want to make some quick cash to buy higher gear. What I have now as follows:- 1. Jig winner 8"10' 2. Omni Float (forgot the size) 3. Stringer 44lbs (Max 13lb) 4. Reel - wincast 2500 & Primary 3500 Do I need bigger gear for those particular lakes or I am OK. Please suggest me place and what species to look for particular.
