ondry Posted October 3, 2017 Report Posted October 3, 2017 Oregon Redband Trout Oregon Redband Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) are a subspecies of Rainbow Trout that is indigenous to cool lakes, streams and rivers of Central Oregon region. These fish are similar in appearance to the coastal rainbow trout but have larger, more rounded spots and are more orange-red around the lateral line with visible white tips on their fins. Redband Trout usually grow to be over 25 cm (10 in) in length, weighing around 1-3 lb. Fully grown Oregon Redband Trout feed predominantly on forage fish, while younger specimen prefer insects and crustaceans.
