Poppa John Posted October 11, 2017 Report Posted October 11, 2017 (edited) Is there anyway you can save your fishing rod setup for a certain rod case..... When I change rod cases , I loose the set up and have to redo again.... ex. 2 rod holder for carp .... 2 rods are set up for carp fishing only...... then change to 5 rod holder all ready set up , rods ,reel and line..... My the fish be with you...., Poppa John Edited October 11, 2017 by Poppa John 1 Quote
Moderators PH_TalonAquila Posted October 11, 2017 Moderators Report Posted October 11, 2017 Can't do that as of yet, but I think it's a grand idea. Hmmmm... should I start my rod case collection now? 1 Quote
Developers Hegert Posted October 11, 2017 Developers Report Posted October 11, 2017 This has been talked about before on an "idea basis", but nothing confirmed. Just know that it's been discussed. 1 Quote
PH_Bear Posted October 12, 2017 Report Posted October 12, 2017 (edited) ***sign*** Please conceder it again. It’s such a great idea! Especially for comps so we can narrow down our equipment focused on the particular compitition requirements, please! Would rather travel light with a go bag for <insert target fish here> and not have to drag along unnessary stuff that might be damaged. You’ve all see those monkey baggage handlers at the airport that don’t give a damm regarding expensive equipment. Edited October 12, 2017 by Vicious_Bear Quote
Marshall_Maz Posted October 12, 2017 Report Posted October 12, 2017 Man I would love this option. A saveable case for each lake would be great 2 Quote
Treebeard60 Posted October 12, 2017 Report Posted October 12, 2017 This makes perfect sense as does separating the fish you have caught to the places they were caught in. Both of these ideas have been raised before and never been addressed. IMO a much more user friendly UI is an easier upgrade than most requests. Quote
BobTX Posted October 15, 2017 Report Posted October 15, 2017 (edited) What is safe to stop using your equipment??? What's a good cut off point. My 4 rods and reels are down to 85%, 80% on cpl. How long can you let it go down before it gets dangerous???? You know I dont wanna break my rod or any reels. Please help. I was gunna stop fishing at 75%, but who knows?????? Help Edited October 15, 2017 by BobTX Quote
BobTX Posted October 15, 2017 Report Posted October 15, 2017 How low can you let your rod and reels get with good line still to use. Should you stop at 85%,80%, or can you let it go to 75,70%????? Please help ty Quote
Moderators PH_TalonAquila Posted October 15, 2017 Moderators Report Posted October 15, 2017 I repair rods and reels after each trip, but I let the line go to around 10%. I've chatted with some who take line down to half that. My assumption is that all equipment can be used to as low a percentage as you are comfortable going, and my experience indicates that the less damaged the equipment, the less expensive the repair bill. That sounds like a great idea .vs taking the hit all at one time. For example, a 440 fishhut can be $8000+ to repair if you let it go to long (couple of trips will do it). Rather enter a comp or 2-3 day trip with some ingerity in my rigs. Just noticed that even some lines in the backpack have reduced durability. Why is that? Quote
Moderators PH_TalonAquila Posted October 17, 2017 Moderators Report Posted October 17, 2017 The lines degrade just like the equipment. In game options you can choose to show the wear on line, rod and reel by using the pro tackle load indicator. I generally use the line until about 10%. Note... floats also degrade, but cannot be repaired. One credit-saving tip not often considered - keep your old equipment and use it for the appropriate locations and species. The less expensive equipment is also less expensive to repair, not to mention the XP hit you take for using rod, reel and line too heavy for the species you're fishing for. I still use the Omni Float and the Value Spin, as well as fish cabin and fish fort keep nets... Quote

FISHERMAN please response if you agree and would like this added to the game. Thanks Quote
