Violentvole Posted October 17, 2017 Report Posted October 17, 2017 I will sit there for 10 or 20 minutes and my float doesn't twitch. But, the instant I; Scratch my arse Adjust my junk Pick up a drink Light a ciggie Stick a finger up my nose to mine for green gold Pick up a snack Have a look at my phone Open chat. Bam, the float goes and I invariably end up juggling an open beer, a cigarette and an open pack of doritos frantically trying to pick the pad up. And just like real fishing, I never learn my lesson and end up missing the bite. Thank God you can't get tangled in trees otherwise my crankbait casualty list would be shockingly high every day. Nothing quite like leaving a £12 lure dangling from a branch, glad the game didn't replicate that! 2 6 Quote
J.Mitchell WV Posted October 18, 2017 Report Posted October 18, 2017 (edited) I wanted to respond to this earlier, but I've been busy all morning. Funny you mention "trees". While at Oregon this past weekend, btw it's the only time I've been there, and at one of the southern spawn points, if you turn around 180 degress there is a tributary with a fallen tree laying across said tributary way in the back. SInce being my first time there, I thought I'd chuck a crank back there. Low and behold over the fallen tree it went. The crank hit the water maybe 25' behind the tree, and I shit you not, as I was reeling it in, a young small mouth hit it. I hooked him, and believe it or not I reeled his young butt up and over the the fallen tree maybe 8 or ten feet off the ground. He must have thought for a minute he was one those "flying" fish lol. Violentvole Posted October 18, 2017 Author Report Posted October 18, 2017 Lol did the same my first visit, it was one of those ' what's down there? ' moments. The poor Sockeyes on Alaska get dragged over every rock in sight, even had one swim up onto dry land during a fight. IRL I'd have run toward it with half a tree in my hand to bonk it on the head, but this thing kept fighting while up on the beach. So, this game is exactly like real fishing because...when I'm doing my own thing I do great. As soon as I enter a competion, everything goes to shit. I want a tiny Alaska Blackfish..I get the biggest bloody blackfish ever spawned. I catch salmon over 20lb in Alberta, as soon as the comp starts I get Burbot and Perch. I do great in Cali, until a comp starts, then I am the SMB king for 45 minutes. I kinda like it though, big difference between comps and casual fishing. This is also like real fishing because I will lug 6 outfits, my own bodyweight in tackle and gear, enough bait to sink a battleship and then use one outfit all day. Same with lures. Will take 8 boxes and use half a dozen all day. But...they have to be there ' just in case '. This game is like real fishing because it's bloody expensive! 2 Quote
