PH_Showstorm Posted September 4, 2018 Report Posted September 4, 2018 Hello fishing buds! Showstorm here from PH. I just completed the the missions that were recently introduced to the game. I greatly enjoyed this content! I hope to see many more of these in the future! Perhaps even some 'Random Daily Missions'. This was a very good addition. Any time you mix something Goal-Oriented with Rewards, that's a win in a multiplayer game. I feel the majority of players will enjoy these. Great job! 1 Quote
MaxThaFisherman Posted September 13, 2018 Report Posted September 13, 2018 (edited) I'm actually lvl 25, so I have some good gear already... After some resisting(these mission offers are quite annoying), I decided to give it a go... Bad surprise there... Once you start the first mission, you are almost "forced by harrassment" to do the entire set of mission... - By that I mean that even if you "untrack" the missions, at some point(I can't say how), it gets re-activated and then you are stuck with pop-ups/notifications that can be a real headache in some cases... If you chose to do the missions(interesting for the BC), we can't even use our gear, you are forced to buy and use the **** starting gear, then yo buy and use the items they(Fishing Planet Devs) chose for the mission, which is a really annoying when you have the same category(float/spinning/casting/, and/or better tackles/bait/etc... I really don't understan why they didn't set a condition, that if the player level is above, let's say 10 or 15, there's no more gear specification... Same thing for all the "fishing tips" that are appearing during the mission... At lvl 25, it should be pretty evident that I know how to float-fish and do a "Stop&Go" retrieve(afaik, from lvl 15 you don't do efficient/good/successful fishing without a good knowledge of this technique)... I gotta let out my personnal opinion about these missions... - ******... LET ME USE MY OWN STUFF... Don't force me to buy lower gear... - I DON'T GIVE A **** ABOUT THE TIPS... I know how to catch Bass, and I have much better tackle than the basic "Gold casting spoon 9g" to catch big ones... - Let me choose where I cast my line(I know where to catch bass on Murwater river) - *** Give me the option to be free from the missions... - ******... it requires me to fish on a low-worth map, with crap gear... Would be nice to have a reward that refunds at least 50% from the cost of the trip(gear, fees, etc.)... The actual rewards are ridiculously low... At least, for higher lvl players(lvl 15-20+) the gear and license should be provided(given for the time of the missions), as it's very likely that once the missions are done we'll get rid of it(the gear) anyway... Oh and the travel cost should be paid too... This way we won't loose thousands of $$$ for each missions... - Mudwater travel cost: 1000$ + 200$/day @ every mission - Fishing License: 400$ 1 day, 1140 3 days - ~5000$ of gear for the first 14 missions... Just to get minimal losses(~1000-1500$ atm, whitout counting the income that I would get on other map and fishes), I had to keep fishing untill the 7Kg KeepNet's full, which is painfully long on this map, on the 2 last missions(bass and catfish)... I'm at the 15th(tough setup), which requires to purchase >1000$ additionnal gear... That's VERY annoying, I am forced to purchase the gear I already have! Note-edit: I don't mean that we should make profits from it, simply that the missions shouldn't be an expense... we should make it at least almost even at some point, as it's annoying to waste time and money on it... PH_Carpman99 Posted September 14, 2018 Report Posted September 14, 2018 (edited) The Tutorial missions are simply a fast track for new players to become familiar with the basics, nothing more nothing less. You're given a Advanced Missouri license from the assemble spinning setup mission and it would probably take around 10 (Common)Bass to make up the travel cost. See you on the water Edited September 14, 2018 by Carpman99 1 Quote
Xxdreadpiratexx Posted September 18, 2019 Report Posted September 18, 2019 Pike master II. Oh my God, I cannot get a muskie interested in a shad at all. Ive caught uni's, trophies....muskie,tigers and northern. All on cranks, spoons, shiners. Can I get a 33lb muskie to bite a shad.....no. 10 days I spent in Michigan. Stop and go, lift and drop, straight retrieve. Even a frustrated hybrid of my own involving stop and lift, scream at Tv, retrieve, throw the pillows off the sofa, then fast retrieve and turn it all off. What's the secret guys?? Please. Quote
PH_Carpman99 Posted September 19, 2019 Report Posted September 19, 2019 I managed to catch a appropriate sized muskie on a 10cm (4 in) grass green shad with a 14g (1/2 oz) X-series 4/0 jighead retrieving at speed 2 (twitching or stop and go should work) at 06:05 am on a Sunny day. Anchored the kayak down the end of the King of green bay peg next to the popular "Pike Alley" lily pads facing north and cast down to the very end area where the fish are regularly splashing on the surface. Hope this helps. 1 Quote
Moderators FPdimsam Posted September 19, 2019 Moderators Report Posted September 19, 2019 Sometimes it's really hard to catch the fish you need at the moment. Then I do a little break and trying again. Something is switching in the fish AI during this time and the fish you need is jumping to the bait you need. Sometimes it also works, I checked. Angler's luck, I guess! Quote
kdog013 Posted September 19, 2019 Report Posted September 19, 2019 Mine came pretty easy doing the same as @PH_Carpman99 said, sunny morning between 6 & 7 am in the same spot except I had a heavier jig and used 3 speed S&G. Here's a pic, taken with my phone so it's a little grainy, but you can see the lily pads in front of me. I think I was casting around 100' from out in front of those pads and was dragged to where the pic was taken. Good Luck! 1 Quote
Moderators FPdimsam Posted September 20, 2019 Moderators Report Posted September 20, 2019 Yeah these are very good and famous lilies! You may catch good muskie with not only spinning tackle there. Float and bottom tackles works pretty good also. Quote
BEARlyThereCDN Posted November 7, 2019 Report Posted November 7, 2019 @kdog013 THANK YOU!!! I was at a loss. I spent over 30 game days fishing for the 33.1 lb Muskie at St Croix to complete the Pike Hunt II Mastery to no avail. I watched KrellicOG and KpShamino's videos multiple times and I've read every post I can find on the mission (there's not many of those) and I only managed to catch about 6 TOTAL Muskies, the largest being a Trophy Muskie weighing in at 26.621 lbs. I changed shad colours, hook sizes, fished at times other than the recommended 5-7am, sunny, cloudy, partly cloudy, and rainy conditions - I should add, sunny mornings are few and far between. Even when the forecast for the next day shows it being sunny, I will warp to the next morning at 5am and it's pouring rain. Then, magically at 7am the rain stops and the sun is out. After reading your post I bought a boat (no shortage of cash since I fished Pike Alley during the non-Muskie times), at 6:03am on a sunny day - BOOM - a 41.057 pounder to finish the challenge. Thanks again, and happy fishing y'all. 2 Quote
kdog013 Posted November 7, 2019 Report Posted November 7, 2019 Happy to help @BEARlyThereCDN . There's some good info on a few of the other missions in this topic if you get stuck again. Best of luck https://forum.fishingplanet.com/index.php?/topic/19680-trouble-with-missions/ If it doesn't post as a link, just copy/paste the above line or use the search for "Trouble with missions". 1 Quote
