Tmif Posted October 25, 2018 Report Posted October 25, 2018 I read on Facebook that underwater items were junk and could be discarded. Could we get an official word on if these items can be removed? Previously, FP said they would be useful in the missions and they weren't. I only have 10 storage spots left and am currently holding onto 14 backlash, 5 bat wings, 5 jawbones, 2 nooses, and 5 candle ends. The backlash also says "loot" when you pull one in. I would just like a definitive answer if I should hang onto this stuff. 4 Quote
Precisionist Posted October 25, 2018 Report Posted October 25, 2018 They are waiting for you to empty your storage of them, then they will roll out the missions for them. 2 Quote

They got me then, because I haven't been keeping all that crap. Quite possibly the worst direction the game has taken since launch - and I still haven't heard of a single person reeling in a previously lost lure. 1 Quote
Hate_ful Posted October 25, 2018 Report Posted October 25, 2018 All i kept was event stuff and backlash like Tmif said . If no missions or use why in the hell would they make some you cant keep. This is Fishing Planet not Garbage collection simulation game. Quote
TC915 Posted October 25, 2018 Report Posted October 25, 2018 Same here, I've thrown everything away except the event "trash", just in case at the end something pops up & I need 'em. Tho once event ends it's adios trash lol Quote

Tho once event ends it's adios trash lol You saw the amount of crap I had in our sesh the other night, I'm still figuratively scratching my head as to why it's there. I don't mind pulling in a bit of weed if I cast into a weedbed - that's real fishing. But pulling out turtles, crayfish, bags, shells and boots is getting really annoying - especially on the first turn of the reel handle on a 180 foot cast. I can appreciate they were going for realism, but this is a game. We want to escape into a world where real life rules don't apply - not replicate exactly what can happen in real life fishing. I mean, what next? Forgot your bait, go home and travel back? The river is in raging flood, go home. Sorry, the season has ended, go home and come back in 3 months? Contrary to popular belief ( and description ), this is a game. A very good game that has God knows how many people who don't fish IRL playing it, which is testament to how accessible it is to all. But there's a point where non-anglers will be put off, and the trash system is a step in that direction. Just my personal opinion of course. Feel free to disagree. 4 Quote
TC915 Posted October 25, 2018 Report Posted October 25, 2018 Well stated V, lol not much can be added to that or said to dispute it! 3 Quote
Tmif Posted October 26, 2018 Author Report Posted October 26, 2018 To be clear, i'm not complaining because I have a ton of stuff and don't want to get rid of it. I have 259 home storage slots because I didn't break up my line into 3' segments to game the system. Between this trash and all the stuff I had to buy for the beginner missions, I am close to full. FishMan Posted February 27, 2019 Report Posted February 27, 2019 Posts on this subject are not recent just like most of the things I reply on, but I am new to the forum. This underwater item deal is a pain. Before the recent update you could not avoid snags and underwater items. Now that underwater items are worth something to you, you can hardly get them, but snags are still very easy to get. I do not want to get into the storage deal because I think there is nothing realistic about what they have done with it! I too have the question about backlash being shown as loot when you catch it but it is just backlash in your inventory. Is it going to be a lure you can use or just take up space in you inventory to make you buy more space? At this point, only the Developers know! I wish they would give us a clue. 1 Quote
