Taking a look at the lure selection to see what we can do to keep this challenging but still catch fish, so some feedback for other options of lures to use, would be appreciated from the other competitors.

Much better now with the lure changes, all night fishing lures.  Still a great challenge, but you can catch fish (even though it may not be the species you want).  This will be fun.

For those entering the competition.  You still must have the fish and screen shot entered withing an hour after the catch.  But for this competition you may make the screen shot private, then change it to public within 24 hours of the competition ending.   However, if you chose to make your screen shot private,  the validity of the catch cannot be verified before the competition is over.  If an incorrect lure was used by mistake, there will be no opportunity for you to be notified of the error prior to the competition ending.

Hello there, I wish to participate. I met Ph_Hilrond in NY last month and he said everybody is welcome even newcomers.  So now about the Steam screenshooting , I will learn to do it, I am most annoyed by the Google Form management.

1) First of all neither my Steam account nor my FP registration is linked with a google account, and it cannot be for technical reasons. However I have an active google account that I used, for exemple, to register in this forum. How to link my FP Player name to my active google account ?

2) Second question is a contender for the silly question of the year, should I download Google Form app ?

I would not refuse a bit of help, thanks in advance.

When the competition is open for entry ,click the entry form link at the top of this page, which requires your email address. Enter your active gmail address, scroll to the bottom and click submit.

When you click the link for the standings at the top of this page, you will go to the google spreadsheet.  No need to download anything.

On the entry form, you will find 2 spaces for each species; one for the weight of the fish and one for the link to the screenshot of it.  When you have caught one you wish to post, click the entry form link, scroll down to those (initially empty) spaces and enter the proper information. scroll down to the bottom of the form and click submit.  Then come back to this thread and click standings, which will take you to the google spreadsheet, where you will should find your new entry.  Do this for every fish you want to submit, simply replacing the old information with the new.

Remember, when you upload your screenshots, make certain the "Make Public" box is checked.

Good luck and tight lines.

PetiteOie, there are no silly questions, well there is one, the questions that's never asked..  PH_Talon is correct in his answer, but many will make the screenshots public all through the competition; however, for this competition you can make the screen shot private, but the weight of the fish and the screen shot link must be entered within one hour of catching the fish.  If you have made the screen shots private you have 24 hours after the end of the competition to change them to public.  If you make them private and only make them public after the competition is over,  you can't be notified if you mistakenly caught the fish with a lure that is not authorized.  But you do have the option.  Also, when the competition starts check the Standings link for the code that must be entered on the screenshot.

Good luck in the comp and tight lines.

Thanks a lot for the detailed answers. The purpose of keeping screenshots private is to prevent other competitors to see which lure was used ? I think I will first follow the simplest route, catch a fish, enter a code in the chat box below the catch infos, take a steam screenshot, upload it on steam and enter data in the spreadsheet in that order and it will be good enough for a start.

Good luck to all as well.

Best code word ever to use in the comps Truelight

Yep, so good that I missed it, I was thinking about a surrealist   " < To Be Announced > to be the factual passcode to use. My brain eventually buzy to handle steam/fp/google as a nightmare. Please do not invalid my entries because of course I am going to upgrade the fishes.  thanks and have a nice play.

I had it pointed out to me that the lures that can be used are incorrect on the Entry Submission page.  It should read night lures, only.  The lure information is correct in the rules section of the Standings Page and in the Full Rules tab at the bottom of the Standings Page.  I'll inform Trulight of the error.

Good luck & tight lines!

PetiteOie, there is a lot to edit for a new Competition and sometimes one thing or another don't changed.  But the information was correct on all but the Entry Form.  Sorry for the misinformation.
