DannyVD Posted January 17, 2019 Report Posted January 17, 2019 Aiming to catch big walleye and northern pike, any reccomandation for a good crankbait? Quote
KYLEROBZ Posted January 17, 2019 Report Posted January 17, 2019 Many will work probably best if you stick to the 2/0 s as any larger you will most of the time missing strike from smaller fish. Depending on the weather certain 1s wil do better. For the walleye and sauger go for deeper cranks pike 3ft-8ft be perfect. Couldnt say what deeper depths to go for as to me de depths on cranks seems messed up i just try and control where abouts in the water i want my cranks to sit. As for colours the glows will get you plenty of walley an saugers even in the day and pearch, lemons and smokeys work well for pike and walleye. 1 Quote
DannyVD Posted January 17, 2019 Author Report Posted January 17, 2019 with 2/0 i only get small fishes, maybe because its a 3ft one Quote

If you go to say a 3/0 or 4/0 you will get less small but also less fish. Say for example 2/0 gave 20 fish only 4-5 of them big the chances are if you used a 3/0 get 12 fish 6-7 big. Again only an example . If its just that youre after some big fish in new york there are other methods that work great. And the 3ft cranks just remember some areas are deaper than others try keeping out of the middle of the lake with it. Probly a 12 or 16ft for walleye and sauger Quote
BobNudd10 Posted January 17, 2019 Report Posted January 17, 2019 quarter ounce purple narrow spoon best for wallys at night 2 speed stop and go works well 2 Quote
Bradlley Posted January 17, 2019 Report Posted January 17, 2019 Danny in my opinion the best way to fish a walley uniq is taking a jig head #3 or #4 with fluorosence worm 7,5cm or 10cm and fish at night near rock in left side of docs, use kayak. The best time for uniq walley in 2am to 4am. If you play on ps4 you can call me in game, psn id : bradley1990 Cheers. Quote
BobNudd10 Posted January 17, 2019 Report Posted January 17, 2019 bradlley there are no uni walleye in emerald lake Quote
DannyVD Posted January 18, 2019 Author Report Posted January 18, 2019 i preffer crankbaits because they are easier to use for my preffered technique Quote
Miles Smith Posted January 18, 2019 Report Posted January 18, 2019 Hey Danny sounds like you have quite the dilemma there. I would like to help but unfortunately I have no advice to give other than you should ask the one person who knows everything about this game WarlordSully. the man is a sitting legend. he is very important and knows more about FP than even the developers do, just ask him and he will tell ya. I hear that nobody in the history of FP would have won a comp without his careful guidance so im sure he can straighten you out on baits to use. Quote

Nothing of any value to the thread yet again im sorry miles but your life doesnt seem much greater than the ones you slag off every given oppertunity at this moment in time. They guy just wants pointing in the right direction as we all did when we started this game. Maybe you have some tips your self you could contribute?? 1 1 Quote

DannyVD Posted January 18, 2019 Author Report Posted January 18, 2019 nice catch bradley, what technique are you using? Quote
KYLEROBZ Posted January 19, 2019 Report Posted January 19, 2019 Stop and go lift and drop work well. Lift and drop works best. The spot you see in the pic any glow crank deeper than an 8ft will bag you unis try using the same rig as bradllys pic you will get plenty between the two and remember its free to skip to next night rather than in day Quote

Rob_cheese Posted April 23, 2019 Report Posted April 23, 2019 Stop and go at three or two speed works well for me as this technique searches the depths in all areas of the lake and minimises attention from other species. Most successful lures (i always target trophy fish) so far have been 4" night (glo) worm on 2/0 jig Pink 1/2oz night narrow spoon 2/0 Ammolite 1/4oz n spoon 1/0 (biggest Walleye so far) Green 1/2oz night n spoon 2/0 Caught the odd fish on black n spoon and 3" and 5" night worm. Daytime particularly when its raining pink glo n spoon has proved most reliable. Not used cranks at Emerald to any great extent. I've caught fish up to 14ft depth on minnow and leeches and doubt a crank searches holes or troughs (at the speed Walleye prefer) really effectively. Unlike in Florida where its a killer technique. Cast out and let it sink to the bottom then reel in - stop - reel in - reel in - stop - reel in. I've never focused on the number of dots next to the lure graphic. I just try to imitate an injured fish. 11 trophy Walleye in a day and lots of smaller ones so it works for me. Though some days you get 1 or no trophies. Left side Dock of Peace out towards the left tall tree and right side of the dock out towards the rock/stream mouth have been best areas so far but searching where its deepest can throw up fish anywhere. The fish you're showing isn't a walleye, but (in English) a sauger. It's interesting that they're called "Canadian walleye" in (what I assume is) Polish. As far as regular walleye go, there are no uniques in Emerald Lake. Quote
