The Unique Common Carp in Russia seems to be more elusive than the the trophy Alaska Blackfish in Alaska, as it has not been caught at all to my knowledge. I have tried and tried but came up empty. Please someone catch this fish and in the process prove it is actually there and save my sanity. I have been assured by support that it exists there. Good luck. 4 Quote
Hazenclements Posted March 21, 2019 Report Posted March 21, 2019 Perhaps the Trophy Alaska Blackfish has strange powers. Fishing there today I had - on two occasions in the course of a few minutes - a bite, a bob of the float, and then the entire tackle flew straight up out of the water, and into the air about 30'-40' and back towards me. One time landing at my feet (where, luckily, a dolly varden hit it!). I think the elusive, mythical TAB is flinging tackle in the air. My story. I'm sticking to it. 2 Quote
Tmif Posted March 21, 2019 Author Report Posted March 21, 2019 If only it was that fish. I've had that happen with a dolly and bull trout there. Sturgeon in Cali. Rowdy bass in Mudwater. Etc, etc. Since they are so rare, perhaps they should make us risk a fine for keeping one if we are ever so lucky to catch one on a lure 3 times the size of the fish. 1 Quote
