Tmif
I would like to extend a challenge to the FP community. The Unique Common Carp in Russia seems to be more elusive than the the trophy Alaska Blackfish in Alaska, as it has not been caught at all to my knowledge. I have tried and tried but came up empty. Please someone catch this fish and in the process prove it is actually there and save my sanity. I have been assured by support that it exists there. Good luck.
Hazenclements
Perhaps the Trophy Alaska Blackfish has strange powers. Fishing there today I had - on two occasions in the course of a few minutes - a bite, a bob of the float, and then the entire tackle flew straight up out of the water, and into the air about 30'-40' and back towards me. One time landing at my feet (where, luckily, a dolly varden hit it!). I think the elusive, mythical TAB is flinging tackle in the air. My story. I'm sticking to it.
Tmif
If only it was that fish. I've had that happen with a dolly and bull trout there. Sturgeon in Cali. Rowdy bass in Mudwater. Etc, etc. Since they are so rare, perhaps they should make us risk a fine for keeping one if we are ever so lucky to catch one on a lure 3 times the size of the fish.

Tmif
Challenge cancelled. Apparently you need a carp rod to catch one. Which we won't have for probably a month. That would have been good information to have before I spent a bunch of time fishing for it. Thanks FP. 2
Tmif
So using my new carp rod next to the bottom sniper for the uni carp in Russia. 0 carp on the carp rod, trophy on bottom sniper. WTF
Del_Udy
They are there, patience required. Caught a lot of common and trophy before this.
Tmif
Patience is not the issue Del. Just wondering why a regular rod catches more carp than the carp rod using the same bait, hook.
