Diggar Posted November 20, 2017 Report Posted November 20, 2017 I watched Hawkeye's farewell to fishing planet video earlier today. In this video, he said that even if you buy the kayaks DLC you will still have to pay the renters fee everytime you want to use your kayak. Now I realize that the DLC is not out on the PS4 yet, but assuming that it is coming soon to the PS4 can a dev please confirm or deny this will be the same in the PS4 release? 1 Quote
PH_Bear Posted November 20, 2017 Report Posted November 20, 2017 (edited) Being on the PC platform and having purchased the Kayak DLC initially, I've never had to pay any "renters fee" when using the Yak on any of the approved lakes. Can't speak for the PS4 platform but would imagine it's the same there as well. I have to agree with him regarding several points he made so we'll see how it plays out moving forward. Warsteiner Posted November 20, 2017 Report Posted November 20, 2017 (edited) I saw his video also. As much as I respect and appreciate what Hawkeye was trying to do , I have to disagree with him. I don't find money that big of an issue. Yes I pop a few dollars on a premium day from times to time but hey , its a free to play game. The devs aren't making this game because its their weekend hobby , its their career . A few issues I've noticed with him is that he's been making clips for almost 2 years but in his last one , he STILL had not managed level 40 ? I also not one single time noticed his premium timer turned on. Just spending $1.99 once a month on single weekend day of play can make a massive difference. I think a lot of people get the misconception that free to play games mean "100% free game". I've been playing these type of games for over 7 years now. World of Tanks , Smite , Blacklight Retribution , Neverwinter , Dreadnaught .....ect. They all offer a premium time service of some sort and this is usually their main source of steady income to fund future work on the game. TLDR ...I think costs could maybe be reduced 1-5% , but I understand why they are what they are. All FTP models work almost identically to this game. It shouldn't be a big enough issue to make people stop playing .I know how the models work , I'll be playing for many years to come. Edited November 20, 2017 by Warsteiner 3 Quote

Thanks Vicious_Bear. I watched the video again and I'm not sure where he's coming from then. I wanted to be certain ahead of any DLC purchase I may make. 11 hours ago, Warsteiner said: I saw his video also. It seemed unknowing to him that his biggest issue he brought up in the video had to do with Youtube and copyrights. Personally, I've got zero problems with in-game costs. It is so easy to make enough money to recoup expenses. I only wanted to find out about possibly purchasing the boat DLC and then having to pay to use my DLC boat. 1 Quote

My concern is regarding the YouTube copywrite hits he mentioned. I’ve posted a couple of FP videos in the forum myself and wouldn’t want to intentionally violate any TOS I may have missed. Can’t really see why the game would charge rental fees for something owned on any plateform. Doesn’t make sense. I think Hawkeye is just feeling a little pressured and that may have been just a “slip of the tongue” so to speak. I’ve always enjoyed his videos and learned a few things from them when discovering the game. I wish him all the best in whatever he decides to do. 1 Quote
tombomb79 Posted November 20, 2017 Report Posted November 20, 2017 if fishing planet would take time with clubs and smaller man tournments the cash will roll in. giving us the ability to socialize an compete in personal tournments will give us the ability to get to know each other and build and more competive nature. plain an simple clubs are needed to keep are boredom from game 2 Quote
Warsteiner Posted November 20, 2017 Report Posted November 20, 2017 I like the idea of clubs too , but there would have to be a REASON to be in one. Money boost ,XP boost communal bank to share repairs , something like that. Quote
tombomb79 Posted November 21, 2017 Report Posted November 21, 2017 (edited) i was thinking bout having 20 man clubs where we could compete with fellow fisherman in are clubs. we will develope friendly relations with are club members or compete with other clubs for rewards and such. biggest reason for a club for me will would be having the club leader to set up the tournmnents with the stipulations rules and such. we can also try to make are club the best by having are members to participate in the game daily with extra rewards. im interested what others feel bout clubs and how they will be applied in the game ? as for myself if i was a club leader i would have different rules and stipulations every couple of days that the club will try to win within the club for rewards such a gold money etc. it has been done im just hoping if the devs would putt the time an energy for FISHING PLANET community? and clubs will be the best for the passionate and dedicated fisherman giving us lots of options to do besides fishing alone without as much purpose. but what do we do about the cheaters that may create a club? or will they be easy to detect and be the end of cheaters if clubs are made? if a fisherman is puttting up unbelievable stats we will know if something smells fishy. Warsteiner Posted November 21, 2017 Report Posted November 21, 2017 Since this is a server side game , cheating on games like this are almost all but impossible. In order to cheat you would have to do something that affected the servers and doing so would not only help you but everyone else at the same time . Console "modding" in games like this is almost useless. Quote
Rodrigoskybox Posted November 21, 2017 Report Posted November 21, 2017 Clubs are good, with diferents tags, diferent clothes, competition against another team, or country etc... Much to explore in this area. Quote
tombomb79 Posted November 21, 2017 Report Posted November 21, 2017 (edited) devs i would like to know if u guys are looking into this option of clans, personal coms and fishing clubs. from all these responses about this topic i feel it is really important for fishing planet to look into all these options. i understand the devs have plans but i hope the devs can change directions an look into clubs clans and personal comps it will solve problems bout fisherman getting bored and shy to win a say 120 fisherman comps. lets cut them down to any limit we see fit Edited November 21, 2017 by tombomb79 Quote
Shb3600 Posted November 24, 2017 Report Posted November 24, 2017 Clubs would be really good you could all so have in club tournaments where you go against your own fellow club members and have a leauge and biggest catch of each species ECT Quote
tombomb79 Posted November 25, 2017 Report Posted November 25, 2017 (edited) devs put things in reverse and work on clans. this would clear up boredom an create more socialization withing clans. i would love to be a clan leader and set stipulations with fish species with awards or certain baits to use. if devs are thinking bout creating these clans please atleast let us know if clans are being looked into for fishing planet? it would be nice to get too know some of the clan members and compete and become a team against other clans. or let us know bout some problems we may approach having clans ? Billy bob Posted November 28, 2017 Report Posted November 28, 2017 (edited) I don't get your obsession with the developers of this game needing to acknowledge your opinions of the game. Yes, clans would be an interesting idea, possibly stir up the competition a little bit. However, personally I feel like there are a million other things to add to this game, before giving little kids a chance to FINALLY have that faze clan tag..... As leader of a clan, I'm sure you'd be willing to shell out prize money and Xseries lures to all 20 entries right? Or let me guess, you want the DEVS to pay for that too. tombomb79 Posted November 28, 2017 Report Posted November 28, 2017 no not at all we all putt up a small amount of money and money is processed accordingly u would be amazed how many people would be in clan tournments rather locked down tournments with same guys winning. i bet if the competition was smaller there would be 3 times as many people attempting to play . Billy bob Posted November 28, 2017 Report Posted November 28, 2017 How could a competition be smaller, AND attract 3 times as many....just stop. Quote
ThePedroKid Posted November 29, 2017 Report Posted November 29, 2017 Great suggestions for clubs, etc. just remember it’s a FTP game. Bonus XP, money, etc., kind of breaks things businesswise. If you want to see cool stuff like that, buy something. Quote
Billy bob Posted November 29, 2017 Report Posted November 29, 2017 @ThePedroKid Funny you say "buy something", after I just read a comment about you begging for a discount a day after they announce a release. What is it with this community.... Quote

What is it with this community.... Gimme, gimme, gimme. A lot of the more dedicated players and vocal posters here went quiet after the Halloween gar event eBellx, for various reasons. Disgruntled? Sure. But quite a few high profile launches and DLC too. But there is a great community, September/October was a superb time to be here. I have made so many friends here it's unbelievable, and I've spent time with a large majority of them on lakes shooting the breeze while fishing. I'm not ashamed to admit I've spent nearly £600 on this game, and I know there's a few others have spent large amounts too. In my opinion, the devs deserve something back for what they've given to me - a lifelong angler who can now partake in my passion without the rain and mud! After a break I'm now coming back, the new CoD briefly distracted me. But this community is so much better than the toxic CoD community, I can hardly join a venue without someone from the forum saying hi or joining whatever room I'm in. And there is no BS regarding language, spelling, punctuation etc, we all help each other as much as possible. It's a community I'm proud to be a part of, because everyone is just so damn nice. The amount of PMs in my inbox is ridiculous, both asking and giving advice. And then when I end up spending a week with Headshot ( we'd never met beforehand ) in Louisiana trying to figure out the vampire gar...well, that's a community right there. Yeah, there's always the everything for nothing brigade, but there are far more people here with public spirit. Forgotten what I was replying to now. Ah well, I'm getting old so sod it. TL:DR - still plenty of us support the devs and each other. 3 Quote
Billy bob Posted November 30, 2017 Report Posted November 30, 2017 I can understand the quiet period, especially with all the holidays. I haven't dug to deep onto these forums. As for in game, I can speak very highly of the people I have come across in game. I have never seen a question go unanswered, and always pretty good answers. It was a strange switch in attitude, from "you should try this lure over here", to....well....a less supportive vibe. I've only been playing for about a month, I bought a month of premium, and the pro pack. However, I didn't really know about the community until I started streaming the game on Twitch. As of yesterday, I have been really pushing people to be active on the forums and create more helpful content that others can reference. Stop by if you get a moment, search eBellx on Twitch. Also, anyone know how to get access to the fishing planet wiki? I would love to update/add all the info I can from the PS4, it's been a couple years...and....I have the time/happy to help. Quote
tombomb79 Posted November 30, 2017 Report Posted November 30, 2017 (edited) Sorry but pushing people to become more active on the forums by calling them idiots an cheap? Enough said. I hope u can handle ur ctitism u dish out an devs delete this thread if things get to personal cause i dont want to see that? This guy actualy wanted people to bann me i think im one of nicest guys fishing if u would get to know me. Edited November 30, 2017 by tombomb79 1 Quote
Billy bob Posted November 30, 2017 Report Posted November 30, 2017 To be 100% honest. Once I saw your "rant" from the other post @tombomb79 I encouraged everyone I could to come to this forum to prove you wrong. You know exactly what I am talking about to because you later said sorry for it. Don't mix up what I am trying to say. I'm not sorry for calling people cheap because they were asking for a discount less that 1 day after the announcement for an update, they don't even know if a price is associated with it or not. I never actually called you an idiot. Every time you post something, you kinda do it to yourself. Going forward, if you have something to say to me directly, feel free to message me. I don't want you to have to have ANOTHER forum topic in which you say "sorry I'm bi-polar". Quote

What is it with this community.... I’m sorry. I didn’t realize I was ‘begging’ for anything. Currently, baitcoins and premier time are 60% off on PC. My post was a reflection of that and whether we would see the same offer when the update launches. I’ve been called a lot of things but ‘cheap’ has never been one of them. Not sure that’s a bad thing, though... I feel ‘frugal’ may be more descriptive; however. 1 Quote
Billy bob Posted November 30, 2017 Report Posted November 30, 2017 ROFL. I like frugal. Frugal works. Quote
