Quick question in relation to one of the missions.

I have to catch a 1.3+lb Grass Pickerel in Missouri, which I assume is Trophy Weight. I have to use a #1-#3 casting spoon.

I've spent the past two days catching 115lb of Pickerel and a few bass, but never once got a trophy. I also saw nobody in that time get one.

I watched a video or two for tips, which was the same setup and location as what I was doing. Tried other lure colours.

Both days have been cloudy.

Does it need to be different weather? Or am I just unlucky so far?

You want to be fishing during the day when the weather forecast (from the Map tab) indicates high fish activity. The Grass Pickerel (normally) likes to sit very close to cover, like lily pads and sunken trees. I would recommend using a 1/0 casting spoon (I used a red and white pattern), speed 1 or 2 with twitching or stop and go retrieves. I cant remember the weather, but it did take me quite a while to get one big enough. Using a light spinning setup might help as they are not very big fish. Hope this helps in some way.

It took me a long time to get a trophy because of uncooperative weather. I didn't claim any trophies at all until it was partly cloudy or sunny. Just keep trying! For me, the grass pickerel was the hardest part of the mission. I got the redfin pickerel and chain pickerels quickly when compared to how long it took me to get the grass pickerel!

Also, like Carpman99 said, I recommend using a #1/0 casting spoon as opposed to the #2/0 or #3/0. The grass pickerel are quite a bite smaller than the chain pickerel or redfin and might not bite correctly on a #3/0 (though #3/0 is just fine for the chain pickerels).
