Crankbait struggle

Hey guys, crankbait used to be my preferred lures to use, but since the update i cant get a technique for them that works. 

Is it just me not knowing what im doing? 

Any advise

Hope not lol. Cranks are my go to lure also. I was feeling a little under the weather yesterday evening, and only fished for about an hour or so, and it was using top water poppers at Michigan. Caught a couple of Pike, Smallmouth and some White Bass, but didn't even put on a crankbait. I will definatley be investigating this later on today.

For me once you cast and start reeling in, it takes about 30ft for a 30ft crank to reach the bottom but there is no movement to it just, goes up and down no bites on it. 

Please ket me know if you got any ideas buddy

Mr. Pierre, I did get a chance to do some fishing last night, and had success with the cranks. I'm pretty busy this morning, so at or about lunch time I'll try to get back and post a more detailed statement of my experince and thougths regarding said crank baits.

I've spent a few hours at Cali today and currently on Mich, no problems with cranks for me.

Yeah Pierre, if this was RLF, I could go on for some time about when, where and how to use crankbaits effectivley. What types of rods, the action of the rod, reels and gear ratios, line types, species of fish, whats are they primarily feeding on at that particular time of year,  are the fish in a holding pattern because of an incoming or outgoing cold front, (which is directly related to the barometric pressure that fish are sensative too), are the fish suspended in deep water above an old creek channel, ridge line or some other underwater structure, are they shallow and hanging around cover such as hydrilla and boat docks, are they pre spawn or post spawn...the list goes on and on. Does this have any effect in game? Maybe, some of it. 

But I couldn't really tell a differance in the number of fish I was catching pre or post update. Obviously there is a notiable differance in the visual physics of the lures that can be seen in the little "retrieve icon box of a thing", and it does seem that by using that as a reference, it does take the crankbait longer to get to the required depth. As in RL, if I want to get to depth faster, and stay at that depth, I will "burn" that crank at the beginning of my retreive. Try cranking your reel speed up the 3 before you start your retreive, and give the reel a few speedy turns. Then click back to your desired retrieve speed. You're not going to notice a lot of vertical movement of the crank, besides the up and down movement, because crank baits are designed to have a more "horizontal" movement or a side to side "waggle". Is that's whats really going on below the virtual water surface? Don't know. I noticed that I had to change up my method for "twitching", and we might all need a couple of days to get used to the new physics. Other than that, I don't have much else to offer at this point. Well back to work, and don't forget to tie on one lol.

Oh... they are borked.  

Still catch fish but their depth is no where near accurate now lol.  Watching my 1m crank dive 15m is hilarious.  Depth rating doesn’t mean much now

i think they now show the real depth or the ground..when i use 1m crank in florida..middle peg i know the depth with floating is under 40cm 30m out, imagine it with 1m(100cm) crank, it will surely touch the ground but at the middle of reeling it it will float back up up to somewhere in the middle also. and if youd stopped reeling in it will float back faster than deeper cranks..the only gripes i have with it is not bouncing anymore( or the ground surface is sandy so it just dig?) and that the lure is parallel to the water not angled pointing down when reeling in. plus if you look at your line in the water it now really is weaving left and right and adjusting speeds will make the weaving more prounounce

using this is better for me when i go use bobber fishing, now i have pretty much idea what to use for depth and adjust accordingly.
