hi

the fisherman game is coming and a lot of people are going there. Many questions remain unanswered such as:
1st - I play on ps4 and soon I will have to renew my annual premium, is it worth ? i think not considering the price it costs compared to fisherman
2nd - what is the future of fishing planet on ps4?
3º - fishing planet will have new updates like fisherman?
4th - since it makes no sense to pay so much money in dlc, premium etc ... prices will fall?
Until I have answers, I will not renew my premium or spend more money.
Thanks

As I know, Fishing Planet will exist and develop independently of Fisherman and vice versa. These are two absolutely different games, each with its own gameplay, leveling system, money earning system, even tutorial. I've already said that it's like movie's spin off. The same Universe, heroes, but absolutely another plot and morality. So you may try Fisherman, then return to FP and vice versa again.

I would not jump to conclusions.😀 I had an opportunity to play Fisherman as beta-tester, but I'm happy to return to FP. BTW, the FP team is looking for beta-testers for Fisherman, why don't you try? I guess your experience would help.

I think prices are unlikely to change. But this is just my opinion, which is based solely on intuition. If smb knows more, share please .

I'm totally confused by this transition tbh.

As far as I can understand it, a publishing house has taken the reins and decided a P2P version is the way to go.

The F2P version may stay alive for a while, but it makes zero sense for a publisher to be selling a game while keeping a free version alive and kicking.

And is it just me, or does Fisherman sound exactly the same as the current F2P Fishing Planet? A few new fish/methods/currency differences but essentially the same game. So we get to do everything we've spent 2 years achieving all over again.

Confused and not at all enthused by the promise of 35 free DLCs. There will be more paid ones, there has to be or the game will stagnate and go nowhere. And microtransactions.

Basically, the publisher (Big Ben?) is calling the shots now. The best days of Fishing Planet are about to end, very soon.

From what i have seen VV you are right same game with new economy and leveling system. Not a fan of 2700 Baitcoins for three DLC's i imagine that by the time you get the coin saved you'll have the normal version of said stuff .(Basically unlocking a skin at that point ) Are the bugs still gonna be in paid version like the stuttering or the sound glitch , is the new fish Ai implemented for U.S. Venues ,competition reworked like promised .What about private competitions that where talked about? From what i seen its hard to tell. For me its a wait and see what happens to once its released and we get more reviews .

The bugs are a major factor for me too Chris.

On the F2P format I can understand and accept - I've only paid what I wanted to, if anything. On the P2P format, I want everything to be peachy and smoother than a mink in a marshmallow factory. I've paid good, hard earned money, I expect a game that works.

Very disappointed on the lack of info about this major step tbh.

I don't read the general discussion/PC boards etc - I play on PS4 so why would I? - and it's alarming how little info us PS4 users have available here.

We were once at a point a few weeks ago where the entire first page of this PS4 forum was stickies about comps, tournies, updates, changes etc. Now, not even one sticky from the devs about the upcoming change?

If I'm confused after 2 years of playing from launch, I'd imagine one hell of a lot of other people are too.

I still put my money on the F2P version dying sooner rather than later. Why give a game away when you can sell it?

Basically a big smack in the mouth with a stick to all of us who've been there from the start and bought baitcoins or DLC. "Thanks guys, now you can do it all over again"

The publisher is to blame, not the FP team. Bet those same bugs will still be present, because it'll just be a basic port, not a re-work.

I predict there will be an announcement within the next 9-12 months that the F2P version’s servers will be shutting down. It makes no logical sense (financially, and from a marketing and development standpoint, etc.) to maintain both versions.

Plus, this game from the F2P standpoint is long in the tooth, so the P2P version breathes a new bit of life into the title and will extend its life a bit longer than had it simply remained F2P.

This transition of F2P to P2P of titles of this nature is more common nowadays than you might think - however there is some stark differences, and the largest is the fact that each is considered its on separate entity, and both operate on separate servers. One’s gotta go, and it sure as shooting ain’t gonna be the P2P version.

Now, they aren’t going to come out and make it public knowledge until it’s absolutely necessary - they’d be foolish to do so. But, the script has been written, and as someone who solely plays independent titles, I’ve already experienced this movie before.

I’ll play the F2P version until D-Day, then I’ll say adios and have no regrets. If 35 DLC’s floats your boat (pun intended) then go ahead and spend your money. I have zero interest in repeating an entire journey for what little benefit the P2P version offers. In watching the first few episode’s of KPShamino and the beta version, it has further cemented that I’ve made the right decision.

Regardless, of what I think...To each his own. Happy fishing!

Yes, the severs on Fisherman and Fishing Planet for PC, PS4 and Xbox are different yet. But I heard that developers like an idea of connecting servers.

Ok , we hope so...

In addition as far as I know,  merging of servers is difficult because of the divergence of interests between platform owners such as Sony and Microsoft. So we hope too.
