suepollock Posted October 5, 2019 Report Posted October 5, 2019 Can / will anyone give me some tips on how to fish using the jerkbait? I have been using a stop and go with a retrieve speed of three but I'm not sure if I'm doing it correctly or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Quote
Moderators FPdimsam Posted October 5, 2019 Moderators Report Posted October 5, 2019 I like three ways when using jerkbaits: straigt slow at the first speed, stop and go at the second speed and twiching at the first and second speed. The third speed is too much for jerkbaits as for me. Hope it will help. 1 Quote

J.Mitchell WV Posted October 7, 2019 Report Posted October 7, 2019 What seems to work best for me is kinda the same way I fish Jerk Baits IRL. 2 Speed with a very fast twitch. And by fast, I mean a quick twitch on almost every two or three revolutions of the reel. Not a big sweeping twitch like you might use with lift and drop, but a snapping twitch. I also like to sweep my pole left and right while retrieving to give the lure a change of direction. Quote

dadbod_fishing Posted April 9, 2020 Report Posted April 9, 2020 I see this question posted all the time! By no means am I an expert or a professional, but I recently launched a How To series on my Youtube and the very first video is fishing a jerkbait. I demonstrate and explain the equipment I use and what works for me. You may not do everything the exact same way, but its a good reference to try something new! Hope it helps! https://youtu.be/pgeqd1m72BY Quote
