Ma6iq Man Posted December 14, 2019 Report Posted December 14, 2019 My rod stand has the ability to be tilted and I was just wondering if that had any effect on actually fishing. Does it hook the fish more easily? Does it keep the fish on the line longer? Quote

I can see the rods better. Usually, I am looking at the line of a bottom rod. The beep just alerts me to watch the rod. If the line moves right or left, I know a fish is on. When I grab the rod, if the meter shows blue at the bottom, it is time to set the hook. If you have a bottom rod in your hand, watch for the fish Icon. If the icon disappears, set the hook. It actually goes blank, like the fish swallowed the bait. Much like the same technique as the bobber. When a bobber keeps moving and then stops, straight up, count 1001, 1002 and the bobber takes off and you set the hook. A lot of the bigger fish (pike, muskie, salmon) play with the bait. The bobber (float) or the fish icon (bottom) can aid in telling you when to set the hook. Stay safe Quote
