CozyComic Posted December 31, 2017 Report Posted December 31, 2017 So I joind this game on the ps4 after my pc died and I am having some problems. The first is the fast forward cool down why do we need a fast forward cool down? Why can't I skip the rest of the day if my stringer is full with out having to wait an hour and 30 minutes to do it again? The second is the travel cost why is the travel cost so high? I mean the way i see it is that if we shell out 3 grand to go somewhere and only get 600 to a thousand back in fish then we are a bit sol. On top of that we have to wait another hour and a half for the fast forward just to clear our stringers and hope to make our money back. I fell in love with this game and want to continue loving this game but these little things are starting to add up. The other things that are bugging me is getting to use coins to get a lure at lower levels but having to farm up a bunch of levels to get it with in game currency. I know this is ftp and the devs need to make money some how but it's upsetting when micro transactions for coins is pushed like that. The last thing I am having trouble with is the controller vibrates which means fish but there is no line tension. I will set the hook and nothing happens. Right now this is the best fishing game on console and I dont want to see it die due to phone game level micro transactions. I am sorry for being up set but this is frustrating me to no end. Quote

Hello there no need to get upset about cool down time period it's the method DEV'S made it , try getting used to it. Now for the travel cost, as u r saying u r spending 3k to get only 600-1k, it depends upon how big ur keepnet/stringer is and also not to mention what species u r going after. Let's just say U went to Missouri to catch those 3 big catfish and ur net is full, that way u won't make any money. You will have to choose regarding ur level what is giving u in return, try going after that species to make money if u r in grinding process. Now regarding your MICRO TRANSACTION issue, This game is by far the best F2P game I have ever played and DEVS of this game they do not force you to buy stuff just like other games in one way or another. It's totally up to u whether u want to spend any money or not. As for the bait coins goes forget about them for now, keep playing u will get plenty by completing achievements and other stuffs. One thing I can say by reading ur post u must be at low level and u want to go to different lakes but I would suggest don't sweat it until u have sufficient in game cash. I would say try grinding at Texas first to make enough cash to by good gears then move to NY then make more money and for fast XP goto Oregon so on. Also quick two tips, 1. Try logging inn everyday even if u play or not by doing that u can get extra cash. 2. If you managed to spend all ur money and u regret it then try sending an email to " support@fishingplanet.com " they will reset your account for you and u can do the fresh start. I hope that helps and if not there are others out here who will be very much eager to sort u out. Thank you. 1 Quote
Tmif Posted December 31, 2017 Report Posted December 31, 2017 Agree totally. I haven't spent $1 and got to level 35 so far. You're gonna have to grind a little like he said but it's still fun. Get to where you can buy a rod capable of bring in 4 lb fish and you can farm NY and Oregon. I haven't even gone after the really big fish yet. Still building my gear. Level 35 and still grinding spotted bass in Texas. And I have 100 coins I barely use. You'll get there. Quote

You are L35 then why grinding at Texas? That's for starters, try grinding at Florida or Michigan and 20lbs setup would do it unless going for Uni's. Quote
tombomb79 Posted December 31, 2017 Report Posted December 31, 2017 this game is money well spent.. It gives u more freedom and more options to fish different locations. Fishing Planet deserves all the riches that are coming too them for creating such a indepth and unique game on the entire market 3 Quote
Tmif Posted December 31, 2017 Report Posted December 31, 2017 I've been to Michigan and done Pike Alley. I go to Texas to practice techniques and just enjoy the fishing with no time constraints. I don't always have the time to fill 100 lbs. Today I practiced my new frog lure and made $6000. It's a game and games are supposed to be fun --Mr. Baseball 1 Quote
Violentvole Posted December 31, 2017 Report Posted December 31, 2017 Hey TC, you don't say what level you're at but if you're only getting a grand for a full net/stringer then you definitely need a bigger capacity net. There's no reason to use a stringer apart from one Walleye competition, so you really should buy the biggest net you can afford. No matter how much it is, you'll soon make it back. You'll also find yourself needing to skip time far less frequently when doing general fishing. 2 Quote

Haha guessing you meant CC, ViolentV But yea if anyone is only getting 1k for full net it has to be the smallest net ingame, or they're just using very lite equipment & catching only 2lb'rs & under. Even in Texas you should clear way more than 1k a day. Definitely invest in a bigger net & upgrade equipment regularly. 12 hours ago, Roy said: You are L35 then why grinding at Texas? I've caught Uni' in Michigan & Florida with my 13.2 rig, just takes finesse & patience. All dependent on if you want a quick 2 sec reel in or a battle lol. Quote
Violentvole Posted December 31, 2017 Report Posted December 31, 2017 TC = Topic/Thread creator I assume he means he's only clearing a grand after travel costs are deducted. If that is indeed the case, he should be staying on a venue for multiple days to turn a decent profit, along with getting a bigger net. Quote
CozyComic Posted December 31, 2017 Author Report Posted December 31, 2017 (edited) Like i said I am sorry for getting upset. I am lv 16 and have been farming walleye. I also found a way to farm coins with the shellcracker panfish. I think it was mostly the cool down that pushed it over the edge. I have the fish net that holds 26lbs. CozyComic Posted December 31, 2017 Author Report Posted December 31, 2017 Also this is the best fishing game out there right now and i have no intention to stop playing it. 1 Quote
Violentvole Posted December 31, 2017 Report Posted December 31, 2017 2 months from now, you won't pay the cooldown any attention whatsoever. Take note of what we say above, because we've all been there. Make getting a bigger keepnet your priority, and also spend multiple days on a venue. Your first day you may make very little over your travel costs, but the second day all you have to pay is a 2k fee and the rest is yours. Same for each subsequent day. The absolute worst thing you can do is go shooting off to venues you can barely afford, there is plenty of money to be made in NC. If I knew in September what I know now... You're still at a fairly early stage of the game and to me, it seems the stringer is limiting your options. Get that bigger net, stay multiple days and the money will soon start to go up. If ( and it's a big if ) you can afford to buy some baitcoins, do it. The Fishfort XL keepnet is 660 baitcoins. Yep, it's steep, but it will make you a hell of a lot more money ingame. 1,090 baitcoins are currently £24 here, seeing as the game is free just that one purchase for half the retail of a regular game helps the devs and helps you progress through the game much easier. I bought it when I was a fairly low level and my money just went up and up from there as it holds 330lb of fish with a max single fish weight of 110lb. Didn't take long before I had the spare funds for the Fishcastle XXL. Getting a bigger net should be your ultimate aim because ultimately it puts money in your account, and means you no longer have to skip time every 45 mins. In the meantime, hit us up. We're all happy to help in any way we can 3 Quote
CozyComic Posted January 1, 2018 Author Report Posted January 1, 2018 Thanks for the help guys. Yeah once I dont have a paycheck going to bills I will start investing in the game more. I shall invest in a bigger net. 1 Quote
CozyComic Posted January 1, 2018 Author Report Posted January 1, 2018 I dont know if it is just a placebo or not but it is knowledge to those who fish irl that reels over 5 ball bearings tend to run smoother. I upgraded to the reel that looks like the phluger president it's the blue one for a little over 5 grand and it actually feels smoother. Is that a game thing or just me? Quote

CozyComic Posted January 2, 2018 Author Report Posted January 2, 2018 Shellcracker is another name for red ear sun fish. You should get coins from unique red ear on Neherrin river unless it has been changed . Quote
