Hello, anglers!

Welcome, 4 new inhabitants of shoreless Blue Crab Island in Mississippi.

•  The first one on our list is Shoal Bass, cousin of the Bigmouth and Smallmouth Bass. This indigenous freshwater inhabitant of the southern part of the USA, easily recognizable by its colorful body and aggressive behavior.

• The second one is Bigmouth Buffalo. One of the biggest species in the Catostomidae family, native North American freshwater fish, mostly known for its giant size and its long lifespan. Despite being mostly planktivorous species, it easily could be caught on sports gear. So choose the right bait and good luck!

• The third one is American Gizzard Shad. This small-sized, extremely fecund and gluttonous member of the herring family serves as a feeding base for many freshwater predators. But due to the enabling environment of the Blue Crab Island, it has grown to a very impressive size and catching fish more than 1 kg is not so rare. Although American Gizzard Shad feeds mainly on plankton, here in the south it also willingly bites! Arm yourself with small hooks and the same small nozzle - and you are guaranteed success!

• Last but not the least interesting fish species is the Black Drum. This giant inhabitant of the sea depths, well known as the largest of all the drum family. Its behavior is very common to his close relative Red Drum, and you need to look for it in approximately the same places.

I can’t catch fish now.... used to fill up 55 lbs of fish in about 30 min now I barely catch anything. My twitch technique after the update now is lift and drop??? and seems to not work and the stop and go bottom technique I used to use was very fluid and just kind of gracefully swam up then down. Now it drags along the bottom and doesn’t seem to work as well. I can’t tell if I catch a fish anymore either in lonestar and the mechanics just feel off... it’s hard to enjoy now, used to avg 4-5 lbs per bass now I’m lucky to get 2 lbs and seem to only attract young little guys and even smaller ones I’ve never caught before..

What percentage of the FP population is level 55 and can even have the opportunity to catch these new fish?

I feel you the grind from 50 to 55 was terrible. What makes it worse is soon the Amazon lake will come out and i imagine we will all be grinding again . Cali sturgeon till rank 50 then Willow for carp till 55 was what most people did .

It was probably not the best way to go about it, but I leveled from 50 to 55 at "Blue Crab Island". I think the $39.95 I spend on the Bass Boat Explorer Pack was a better option for me than to grind elsewhere, (Cali Sturgeon, bottom and float fishing...no thank you lol), plus you'll be at BCI. 30 Day Pond Pass, 30 Day Unlimited License & 30 Day Premium, plus some pretty decent gear, not to mention a bad ass Yacht...I mean Bass Boat lol. If you would opt for this route, hit me up. I can provide a few tips and bouy markers to get you started.

I had noticed quite a few changes in the game as far as physics go but I thought it was just me being picky. And I haven't filled my fishnet once since the update. Before, I could fill it before the in-game day was finished. And I'm glad that a few of you are having to grind to hit 54. I think it's taken me at least two weeks of fishing and still haven't hit 52. I'm so close but I expect another two days of fishing before I actually level up.
