This has happen to me a few times, having drag set to max is not always a good thing. If you get a fish bigger than the line weight it will cause major damage and could snap the line real easy. It could also cause rod and reel damage if it happens enough, It might take a little more time getting the fish in but back off the drag some.

If indicator hits the edge of the red play it slowly, if it is peeking in the red back it off 1 or 2 clicks and play the fish. Remember lots of times MAX drag means damage..

This might not help everyone but has helped me land fish.
