[Steam] New Twitch Drops Campaign Congo Discovery Drops!

Hey, Anglers!

The new waterway release celebration has already gained momentum, and therefore we have prepared for you the Twitch Drops Campaign - Congo Discovery Drops!

Watch Twitch streams from December 8 to 11 inclusively and get new boxes! But this time, the boxes will contain the new baits to successful fishing on Congo river!!

To get prizes, you need:

• Connect your Steam to your Twitch account

• Watch streams, marked with a special icon!

 

Remember that in order to receive boxes for watching streams, your Steam account must be linked to your Twitch account.

And this is what will be inside the Congo Prize Boxes

Those who will watch 30 minutes of the stream will get Small Congo Box, which includes:

• 50 baits "Banana Bread"

• 25 baits “Caddis Larva”

 

Those who will watch 60 minutes will get Medium Congo Box, which includes:

• 50 baits "Banana Bread"

• 25 baits "African Giant Water Bug"

 

Well, those who will watch the broadcast for 90 minutes, will get Large Congo Box with:

• 50 baits "Banana Bread"

• 5 baits "Small Tilapia"

• 1 baitcoin

Nice feature, but it doesn't look like much thought went into this. Anyone who is in Congo by leveling have millions of $$$ and nothing to spend it on. And even those that are new and went there with DLC could catch like 3 perch and buy those baits. 

 

If you want your players to interact with features like this, giving them something meaningful would go a long way.

If you bought the DLC, does that mean you can also buy the baits in the shop even if you dont have the level for it, since there is level requirements on them?

From our testing it looked like Large minnow is just as good as Tilapia, don't need the level access to even buy those. Banana bread, who knows, you don't see most people fish the small stuff. For catfish all the older catfish baits worked just as well, the crab, lambari, minnow, large cut. You will unlock access to a bait long before you used up the stuff provided with the DLC because exp is so high. Our new member on dc went from lvl 8 to 62 in 1 day fishing there with just lures and the DLC baits. 

 

Well if people feel doing all the steps, and streaming 90mins to get 5 Tilapia's, they can go for it. I personally think its a complete waste of time for what they give you. Even if you ran an extensive test and can show Tilapia is superior to Large minnow in some way what are you going to gain from having 5.

If you want to run a twitch thing to increase your game's popularity, a good place to start is making the twitch drop good enough that people feel they miss out not having it. Not something that has practically 0% impact on your gameplay.

Please make Drops exciting. For example, a random item with a tiny little chance of being x-series.
