Ubersheet Updates

Recommended Posts

Have begun.

Ubersheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1wEvjycxSaVLNmVOCIZPALsPvLtxnJSz_LDcPKowAFb4/edit#gid=1806653623

With the time I have been away this will take some time.  Due to level cap increase I am still locked out of many new things.

I have begun with what I can so far:

-Removed price paid per weight of fish caught, not something I want to track
-Added all new store reels to level 40 to drag sheets (DLC reels likely missed)
-Bait Pricing sheet, fully updated with all baits
-Preferred Lures and Baits, added slots for new uniques in low level locations
-Locations Summary, updated with species and max weights through to Colorado
-Texas, Missouri, New York, Colorado sheets.  Updated with new species/uniques, max weights to reflect current game info
-Czech, new location sheet added

From here I will likely continue updating/adding sheets up to my current level cap (40).  Locations I can fish to confirm data.  Once I hit a soft wall on that I will move to updating much of the new gear that has been added.  The balanced combinations sheet may be a long while coming as I am level locked out of many reels (which I need to buy to confirm number of drag settings available).

As always in the past.  If you have info that can help increase the accuracy of the Ubersheet (especially peak times) please let me know.  To maintain the integrity of the data please provide screen shots/links to confirm information.

Thanks.

New updates.  Had some help from PH_Carpman99 (thanks again) which allowed me to find the number of drag setting for most reels I couldn't access.  Did some Netherlands fishing.

-Reel Drag Sheets updated for all store reels except the GiantSpin series.

-Netherlands location sheet added, section also added to Locations Summary sheet

A great source of information regarding rods and reels is OldAces-Noneya's Sheet:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VwTKpPoHICgSbMWFzUER199xLwH5j35wW3AxGc-dI4k/edit#gid=306396154

Unfortunately he does not allow copy/paste 🙄

Looking forward to the update of your great work though, it helped me a lot in my first days 😀

I can't even view that properly.  Was a time I could but now the header is so large I can only see the top row of the scrollable area.

I liked this information a lot because the official wiki is sometimes wrong with it.

Not something that ever came from me.  Someone made a copy of my sheet long ago and added that.  Kept it at the time as it was accurate and added no work (and I assume no longer accurate for what was there with a ton of other species and locations missing).

  • Split Balanced Combinations sheet.  Due to volume of gear not in-game there will be separate sheets for Float/Lure/Bottom rods.  Work-in-progress.
  • Added warning to Balanced Combinations sheets that gear after level 40/Alaska is not included while work-in-progress
  • Minor formatting changes for consistent look and feel throughout
  • Hid unused columns throughout for cleaner view

Lots more work today:

  • Added new sheets for all remaining locations (United Kingdom, Mississippi, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Congo)
  • Added all locations to Locations Summary sheet, due to the number of locations now in-game using this sheet has become onerous, may remove in future.  Thoughts?
  • Added all species to Preferred Lures and Baits sheet.  Due to the number of species now in-game scrolling this sheet for quick reference has also become onerous. I had originally not included this information on the sheets for each individual location so as to not repeat information for fish on multiple maps.  Likely removing this sheet and combining with location sheets in future.  Thoughts?

  • Completed moving Preferred Lures and Baits data to individual location sheets.
  • Removed Preferred Lures and Baits sheets.  Too onerous to navigate for quick reference.  Data relocated as noted above.
  • Added all remaining reels to Reel Drag sheets (including DLC).  For the GiantSpin series, Chocoboom and GoldenHarp reels... I cannot complete these entries without knowing the number of drag settings for these reels.  If you know, please share.  Thanks.  Additionally, once I know the numbers for all the reels I can move on to the balanced setups sheets.

  • Added new sheet for Selenge River, Mongolia
  • Added new Ultimate Roller Reels to Spin Drag sheet
  • Added GiantSpin reels to Spin Reel drag sheet with 8 drag settings.  Info obtained fro reliable source, if incorrect please advise.
  • Some further work on balanced combinations sheets.  Still work-in-progress.
  • Added Boilies/Pellets to bait pricing sheet
  • Added new baits that came with Mongolia to bait pricing sheet

  • 3 weeks later...

The bite rate info for uniques are 99% irrelevant now, almost all fish just follow the peak time chart, and you can catch them at most times the time chart is not on the very lowest part. Don't even think its worth the effort trying to plot that.

I would say the only relevant info now for uniques are which lures work best, color depth etc for various weather / pressure

I have noticed.  In my latest update (not yet live) I have started setting unis times to match with peak times (recommended best times now rather than you can only catch them at these times).

With the recent move of preferred baits and lures to the specific locations sheets rather than a single sheet based on max size lure/bait info is also more relevant to max size fish at a specific location.

With the expansion balanced combos sheets, addition of line/leader combos sheet, addition of x-series rewards sheet I am also attempting to add some value outside peak time charts which was the original primary reason to use the Ubersheet going back to 2016-2018.

Yeah a bunch of us kept a sheet for a while, but really just gave up on that, if you add the images it simply becomes to large to load. You can load those into the cells as a "background" but even then its annoying, you cant click cells below the image that is semi transparent.

But you wil see the uni blocks end up matching peaks almost perfectly, i really think knowing that is irrelevant now, peak just means increased bite rates. Uni can still be caught well outside of peaks.

The most relevant info people need is :

How many uniques can be caught from x amount of spots.
Best lures and color for each weather.
Depths for different pressure.
Correct hook sizes for the largest uniques.
And actual locations as in x,y coordinates.

We also played around with the idea of using text recognition, and screenshotting markers info. It will come up with a nice string that can be read for literally all the information, weather, lure, fish, x, y etc. Then that can be plotted onto an actual image of the lakes. Doing this would allow players to quickly map out the exact spawn boxes of each fish.

Yeah, some of this like how many unis at how many spots, cooldown timers,  a database of coords to fish at, etc is beyond what I would ever do.

I believe people should actually fish and learn some things themselves.  No interest in creating a point and click to win reference.  Same reason I have never done videos for this game.  Quite frankly with existing videos and sharing markers much of this already exists just not in a singular reference.  Yes, many videos suggest fishing with hooks that are way too small when bottom or float fishing, people need to actually fish, play the game, try different things and learn for themselves.

I've read comments over the years that a uni can't be caught at x time or on x lure because it's not on the Ubersheet.  I've had people argue with me in-game recently that x spot is the best place to fish at x location because that's what they saw in a video.  I had someone try and tell me you could only catch uni marble trout on a rainbow spinners, lol.  Anyone can make a spreadsheet, anyone can make a video.  Any such tools IMHO are intended as and should be used as a guide at best.

With the amount of new players power leveling and relying on videos or other tools the fishing/gaming IQ in-game is at an all-time low.  Too many have no clue how to actually play the game or 'fish' they just mimic what they have seen in a video.  The Ubersheet has always been purposefully a non-exact reference to help guide a player but not to practically play the game for them.
