FUMING - invasive advertising causing players to lose lures

I just entered a comp, got to my first spot, and while on my 3rd cast i get a popup. "Competition started"  Who knew right? seeing as i am ALREADY FISHING IT. That is then followed by a results from a comp 4 hours ago, and then followed by 2 store advertisements.

My lure is in the water, now i cant reel, and have to alt+f4 the game. x-series lure gone. 

Now im stuck in a 60min comp without the lure i need, because of bloody popups.

Its causing rod stands not to work, cant reel in tackle, cant re-bait rods and the list goes on.  It wasting our time during comps having to quit, come back, drive all the way back to where you were busy fishing and re-cast all the damn rods. For what? Being shown some crap package I ALREADY OWNED ? I even had stuff popping up while driving a boat.

Do you devs believe dealing with crap like this is making people more likely to buy stuff.... Honestly sick of dealing with the problems caused by these popups. Your UI has been broken since congo released.

I mean, you can understand the frustration if this is costing people real world money with their lures/bait and other items and if it happened twice in 24 hours.   Could they have said it nicer?  Maybe, but if the popups are causing real issues, and costing people real money, the feelings are normal and understandable.

Its not just because a lure is lost

Its time. To be online at the right time a comp shows up, to practice, some of these comps only show up once a month, then you lose all that effort put into it.

And lose the lure for the effort put into a previous one. It easily amounts to 100 hours of lost time. And then you need to also go redo your previous effort because you need another lure.

Totally understand, I just didn't want to speak to that as I don't play the tournaments and don't know what the requirements/time investment was like.  I wouldn't want to comment on something I wasn't familiar with.  You have a valid reasons to be frustrated, especially it happening twice within a 24 hour period.   To add to your point, in a meta sense, the money spent on in-game items is also time lost (you had to work x amount of time at a job to gain that money so that's wasted).  

Also, we only have x number of hours in our lives so losing 100's of them, as you point out, is reason to be frustrated.

And the players have asked for years, that they make these items replenish able after unlocked, weather its xs lures or the stuff from missions. Even if its with baitcoins from the store. But they refuse to listen. Then you lose stuff in this manner. 

The fact that you can lose lures at all to disconnections in the state their game is in right now is a joke in itself. Tons of people have constant lag issues. There is SO MANY UI and other bugs that make the game unresponsive. And each time you cast you need to cross your fingers you wont need to Alt+F4 and risk losing something you worked hard to obtain in the first place. They are spitting on the players that put time into their product and food on their plates. 

I have bought stuff in the past, Can promise you it wont happen again.

And dont think you can put in a support ticket, they just give you the good old. We are sorry we cant help you. 2022 and they cant edit a DB with a sql query when people lose stuff to bugs etc. The forums and steam is full of posts about it.

It's bad to hear from loyal players about this state of the game. We've redesigned the way UI communicate to the server, making it less buggy in terms of disruption of the inventory and with more sync approach. Lags - working on lags. Will do a new wave of rewriting, and in 1-2 month we will start our own server engine to have a full control over the network processes and architecture. This thing took about 2 years to write from scratch. And about mission and x-series lures  - finally have time to let player regain them. So I hope in 1-2 month all this problems will go away. Will write here about steps we make to get rid of all this nasty glitches.

Im sure you guys will get a ton of appreciation from the player base if you can sort out the above issues. It really just got to the point where the frustration is enough for alot of people. Hence the post. Apologies for the way I put things in the heat of the moment but felt it was needed to be said. And thank you for a direct reply, we are really looking forward to a cleaner game play experience.

We will also remove the behavior, which cause player to lost lure if the fish on hook and disconnect (implemented before to prevent cheating to cut of with big fish - not a lot of players use it anyway, and we can check for this exact case).  Now fuming probably cause in some strange server side delay - we are working on to find and fix the problem source. And for sure for last year we reworked a lot in the interface, need to polish all this stuff. And we will sure do it soon. Todays patches for xbox and ps4 target crashes and memory consumption, and also image quality.

This is good, people using Alt+F4 to "save" a lure haven't been a thing since the level cap was 40 back when people fished sturgeons in Michigan. Rods and reels are far more powerful now, and most players have boats or kayak and will never get spooled anyway. Losing a lure to disconnections really only punish higher level players that use x-series rewards and get disconnected, or forced to close the game through no fault of their own.

Well I have a Video of me fishing and actually finishing 8th, but the servers did not accept it. And what do I get from the support? "Unfortunately we found no issues in the game data, so your place 36 is correct." What should I have done? The game still had seconds left, I exchanged the fish on time, and the servers simply did not acknowledge it. Everything on Video.

@Killerwhale Did you see the video somewhere? It should all be in testers chat. I feel completely cheated out of the participation of the final and therefore my chance of lures i cannot obtain otherwise. I spent way too much to let these game go (steam, xbox, fisherman, gifts etc), but at this point I cannot see why I would keep playing the game if all the preparation is worth nothing if the servers are not fixed, more and more bugs that are really heavy (like scrolling in windows/xbox, thread starters topic) are never fixed.
