Swansbydnsn
I debated on a good place to post this suggestion and decided that the forum might be the best bet. So I am an avid angler in the U.S. and I’ve played close to every big name fishing game (not many) on the market, and Fishing Planet dominates the genre in nearly every category. The inclusion of almost every region of the world and the amount of species in the game are mind-blowing. One thing I was extremely stoked about when I found this game was the South-eastern United States region where you could explore the grassy marshes and mangroves searching for drum, snook, trout and tarpon. Basically, the inshore saltwater/estuary species that are popularly fished in the U.S. I want to try and introduce this, knowing that this is something that’s very likely not going to be looked at let alone elaborated on, but it’s worth a shot. I would like to see the inclusion of some kind of inshore DLC or update that enhances the realism of inshore fishing. I’m talking about new tackle, equipment, and boats to go along with this. Some common tackle associated with inshore fishing that we haven’t seen in the game like soft plastic shrimp, mullet, crab or small squid. On the DLC concept maybe throw in some spinning rods that handle the grade of fish and baits being used. I would really be stoked to see the inclusion of flats boats, or skiffs, that are widely used for stealthy roaming through the shallow mangroves and grasslands that hold plenty of fish. I think that these would add to the realism of inshore fishing, while I also recognize some down sides of this concept. I am sure that after creating the everglades and blue crab island regions, many players would probably get tired of updates that lean towards the inshore fishing subgenre because of the amount of content that is already in the game. Which is why I believe that this should be a DLC, for players who are interested they can purchase it and the people who aren’t interested do not have to affiliate with it. I don’t have much more to follow up with this, but if this is something that could stick I would love to hear back. And please ask and critique my concept if you see anything that raises a question. I provided some reference images to some of the ideas I mentioned, below.
Deconstructed
I will say the game could use the introduction of some shallow draft boats. Getting around some of the maps is cumbersome when water is only 2'-3' deep in some areas.
Violentvole
I've just come back to this game after a 4 year break I always enjoyed florida and, being max level at the time of leaving means I have the gear for Blue Crab Island. I'm having a blast and agree with all of the above, would happily pay for DLC to experience more of this sort of fishing. We have no real life fishing of this type here in the UK, so this is likely the only way I'll ever get to experience what it could be like.
