JeremyWade78261 Posted November 18, 2022 Report Posted November 18, 2022 Newbie - obviously. I have been trying for days to close out the first challenge with zero luck. I've seen others catch Golden Shiners but they continue to elude me to the point where I'm ready to bail. So many people catching so many fish yet I can't get any. I'm using dough balls (the other bait I'm not allowed to purchase apparently) on a bobber, I've tried all corners of the lake, leader depth up and down and all over, and zero - zero! - bites. Can anyone tell me how they managed to find / catch this ghost fish? Thank you! Quote
PH_Carpman99 Posted November 19, 2022 Report Posted November 19, 2022 Try using the smallest hook (#10) you've got, normally found close to shore near weed beds and lily pads, target those areas. Dough balls will work, blood worms (from the Home shop) or the red worms from the compost pile (found in the small clearing at the end of the wooden bridge crossing) work also. Try a depth of about 60 cm (20 in). Fishing during the day during the higher parts of the wave indicated on the fish activity chart will help (from your Inventory select the Map tab then select the Weather Forecast tab to see this) use the time forward option (T on PC version). Bread15 Posted June 20 Report Posted June 20 It still didn’t seem to work for me… out of all the baits listed which one is the best to catch golden shiner’s Quote
PH_Carpman99 Posted June 22 Report Posted June 22 Try the Red worms from the compost heap or dough, walk onto the wooden bridge near the compost heap and turn left (not the open water area), at your feet should be some lily pads, cast your bait next to (not into, you'll get snagged) these lilies.
