CozyComic Posted April 3, 2018 Report Posted April 3, 2018 (edited) Ok i just noticed this today why are all of the shad color spinnerbaits bait coin only? Also why are half of the crankbaits baitcoin only? I'm almost lv 30 i don't get lots of bait coin anymore! Is there a way to get baitcoin besides horking money over or tournament fish? (Sine unique fish don't give baitcoin anymore) I mean if horking money over is the only way to get bait coin then i am just going to throw my gear in the truck buy some bait with that money and go catch real fish. I think it would be cool if there was an app where if say i go to sporting good store A and buy lures B I can enter a code from my receipt to get the in game equivalent. Or get some cool gear for going to an event. Grant it there would be some things to work out so someones kid does not spend 800 bucks on tackle but I think it would it would be a cool little thing. Hate_ful Posted April 4, 2018 Report Posted April 4, 2018 You can complete challenges to earn bait coins but it would be slow going . They sell bait coin only items as away to generate income as it is a free game but from my experience only bait coin only lure that seems to work better than others are frog poppers. Quote

Not to hijack the thread, but have you noticed any significant improvement over in-game brand x-series lures and hooks over standard shop items? I was using the x-series bass jig in Michigan last night after earning Trophy Collector 3 and it seemed like the smallies were all over it. I also have good luck on x-series jigheads vs. standard it seems. Do you know if there is an actual benefit or is it all in my head? Edited April 4, 2018 by nordak76 1 Quote
Hate_ful Posted April 4, 2018 Report Posted April 4, 2018 I believe x series lure are said not to give an advantage but in my experience i have better luck using them. Like you said bass jig works wonders for me. 1 1 Quote

I caved and dropped 20 bucks (I took it out of my tobacco money ) >.< With it I got the unlimited advanced fishing for new york and florida. Know any good higher level farming places with an unlimited advanced license for around 170 coins? Edited April 4, 2018 by CozyComic Added more to post Quote

The floats cast farther than their standard counterparts. The line wears slower, so it needs to be replaced less. The hooks and jigheads set the hook easier, and are less likely to become unhooked. The lures have exclusive colors that attract more fish. The night hat has the light. The fishnets have a larger maximum capacity. The rod cases/tackle boxes carry more reels and tackle etc....None of these things individually make a huge difference, but using all of them in conjunction will make a difference in your success overall. 12 hours ago, Hate_ful said: You can complete challenges to earn bait coins but it would be slow going . I've noticed a slightly higher catch rate with bait coin lures, but not as much as x-series stuff. One thing I have noticed for sure, is that bait coin live baits definitely catch more fish. Even more so with event baits, so stock up on event baits whenever they come around. The regular baits such as large minnows that you can buy with baitcoins instead of in game cash seem to have a slightly increased bite rate as well. 2 1 Quote
Hate_ful Posted April 5, 2018 Report Posted April 5, 2018 According to killerwhale ( Posted on x series dlc thread ) X series doesnt affect bit rate but affects bite speed slightly so it technically gives you a small advantage . 3 Quote

I think the night lures have the same advantage as the X-series 3 Quote
WhiskerFisher Posted April 7, 2018 Report Posted April 7, 2018 I've been saving my baticoins.... for what I am not sure yet. I was thinking about buying a few spoons. but maybe saving them for advanced licenses is better. So far the only unlimited license I have is for Texas, and I generally slay the bass there left and right. I'm a level 24 and I think I have around 70 BC that I have earned through completing challenges. I don't have much money irl so I am reluctant to enter comps for $16+ a pop. But I may buy the bundle expansion pack cause I feel like it's a fair deal for the price. I want to be able to catch big cats and gar so it'll take forever leveling up to get that gear if I don't buy it. Quote

Here's a link to a spreadsheet showing the majority of the x-series items and their benefit descriptions. As well as how to get them. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3O8d21lAetballYMGdGTDBSYXM/view Edited April 7, 2018 by X-xH3aDxS4o7x-X 2 Quote
