That equipement should work, but i would recommend to fish max depth because the lake is so deep. Try to fish peak times and look for the visual clues of fish activity.

Good spots to fish are near the rockwall on the top of the map or at the logs at the bottom of the map (im refering to the map where you spawn on, not the one that comes up with M)

Edit: maybe using fluro line makes a difference as well, because trout have good eyesight. Im not sure this is a big factor as i used mono with succes for them.

I'll will try the spots you mentioned since I haven't fished there before. As for the line, I'll give mono a try and see how it behaves.

Hijacking my own topic, I have two questions:

  1. At what durability percentage should I change my line?
  2. Is there any place where I can see when its the best time of the day, weather conditions, maps, etc to fish certain species?

Thank you and excuse my English.

1. The line wont break because of durability before it reaches 0%. I usually change line between 10-20% durabillity to be safe.

2. The most used resource for fishing in this game is the ubersheet, which can be found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1B5W-Ab_oaUAmJKQC0F6EsZ-3O9kyutLQtP4EuSh8VT0/edit#gid=1353546866

It has a list per map of peak times for most species. It also lists favorite baits and lures. Besides the mentioned, it also has a big list of balanced rod and reel combinations

Was targeting 20% to be safe but I'll try 15-20% and see how it behaves.

This is a very nice resource. The balanced rod and reel combinations are a godsend for a novice like myself.

Loving the game and the community :)

Thank you very much.

Hi,

I am currently trying to catch the lake chub and the pumpkinseed at White Moose but I haven't had any joy. I've looked at tips and even YouTube videos of people catching, where to fish, what bait to use, what length my leader should be etc etc. but, after around 10 hours of real time fishing (in different locations), I just cannot catch. I get nibble after nibble but never a solid bite. I even tried waiting for days where the temperature was warmer and obviously peak times but I am yet to catch. Any tips would be very much appreciated.

Not sure on your set up, but I got them both with semolina balls, size 6-8 hook, the both like to keep close to the shore so you only need to go out to 50-80 feet cast and you should get them mate
