By hitting the + key, you increase the drag setting on your reel (Having made sure you're not going far enough to break the rod or the line) and the fish will find it tougher to strip line from your reel. Moderators PH_TalonAquila Posted April 11, 2018 Moderators Report Share Posted April 11, 2018 My personal favorite bass rig is: Jig Winner (13 pound max line weight, 8 foot something length), Espira MLR with max drag of 13 pounds ( 4500?), and 12 pound line (or 10 pound braid if the unique large mouth bass is not a possibility). Play with the drag to suit your preference, being aware that you cannot turn the reel drag to the max or you'll break your line every time. tight lines.
