Does anyone know what happens if my license expires while my console is off? Let's say I had to work late and didn't get home until after it expired. When I turn the system back on and start the game, do I get fined for all of the fish that are in my keepnet from the day before, or can I just buy a new license and resume fishing?

I tried searching the forum, but couldn't find anything, so sorry if this is a repeat question

kdog013, you will not be fined for all the fish you caught before the license expires.  You will only get fined if you catch a fish after the license expires.  If you happen to catch one after, a warning will appear and you can close the game and restart it.  The fine will not apply.

The license stamp is based off real time, so I would highly recommend saving baitcoins to buy unlimited license or be smart with your time and money.

Good luck!

Thanks Dachinsta, I didn't think I would get fined, but didn't want to assume anything in case I was wrong. I've been saving my baitcoins, but I'm still a long ways away from having enough for unlimited licenses, although I do have a birthday coming up (hint, hint FP team)lol.

If your license expires while the console is off, you just need to buy a new license when you turn it back on; you won’t be fined for fish already in your keepnet.
