Hope i have solved a murder case ? lol This sounds familiar to me, I'm pretty sure it's a poor man's minnow trap, used by fisherman whose setup consists of a hook with a bunch of line wrapped around a soda can. Ever see one of these guys make a cast? I was pretty impressed.
kdog013
This thread has been giving me flashbacks. I caught a small turtle once. It was trapped in a minnow bucket that I snagged off the bottom and had been rotting for quite a while. My god, the stench that erupted once it reached the surface was one of the worst I ever experienced. Made my partner chum the waters lol. If we're gonna start catching random crap, why can't we catch random bonuses too? I found and snagged a Shimano medium action combo off the bottom once that I still have to this day and I can't even count the number of times I've been out in my canoe or coleman crawdad and found both lures and bobbers either hanging from a tree or hooked to a log under the surface that someone fishing from shore had lost. I wouldn't mind catching trash once in a while if I had the same chance of catching some free tackle. I'm sure I'm not the only one irl to catch a fish and find another hook or lure stuck in it's throat from breaking someone else's line.
nordak76
If we're going for realism, plant debris (algae, twigs, leaves) should be top on the list. I do like the idea of fishing up gear though by chance if the devs insist on having us snag trash. Edited May 25, 2018 by nordak76

That is a cool idea you are suggesting here and it would not surprise me if something similar eventually came out of this whole "trash" feature. Great idea! 3

I spotted this in a youtube video from the pc version when I was learning how to play and getting ready to go to Michigan for the first time. Not very big, but the xp is crazy. I'm wondering if they aren't already on ps4. I use a 20 lb. setup for pike and I've landed a 40 lb. musky with it before. I recently found a good spot off to the right of the sandy cape? peg for pike. I've never seen a single musky there and have caught many trophy pike and uni pike with no problem, but twice now I've hooked into something that my setup is no match for. It acts like a pike, but when it jumps it's too far away for me to see, so I can't be certain. The first time I fought it for 55 mins before losing it, came unhooked when I was chasing it along the beach because I was running out of 290 feet of line for the second or third time. The second time my brother hooked into it with only 245 ft., the end of the spool in our backpack, and after just 15 mins, it was gone and so was the line. I've caught random walleye, smallmouth, salmon, and even a 20lb. blue cat once in this spot, but have never seen a single musky of any type, so what could it be? When I go back I'm going to use my 32lb. setup, maybe I can turn down the drag for all the other fish. I'll take some snapshots of the spot where I'm casting, maybe one of you guys can catch it, or has somebody already caught this before? J.Mitchell WV
Way back in the early 80's, I was stationed in Dover DE while serving in the Air Force. A lot of farm land with private farm ponds and small rivers and streams that feed such. One afternoon, I was fishing a favorite spot of mine under an old wooden bridge were I had in the past caught many large mouth and chain pickeral. I was using a 3' shad crank bait when I hooked on a snag of some sort. Very heavy, but had some give to it. I didn't want to break my line and loose my lure, so I ever so slowly managed to drag the "snag" within a couple of feet of the bank. The lure came loose, and I managed to make out what looked liked a burlap sack as it sunk back into the depths. A couple of days later, I was talking to a fishing buddy about the incident, and began to ponder what may be in said burlap sack. Maybe someone had robbed a bank and chucked the bag out a car widow while crossing the bridge in order to return at a later date and retrieve the booty, (yeah, right lol). So, unknown to me a day or two later, my aforementioned buddy, and his buddy, after a few libations, decided to investigate the scene. Being familiar with the area I was fishing, the two had no trouble locating and recovering the burlap sack. Money...gold...jewelry. No. A sack with 2 bricks...and half a dozen dead kittens. Fyi, it's the woods of the eastern bank peg for anyone interested. Sorry, I don't know how to edit my previous post.
Del_Udy
Just got the underwater objects update on Steam. Caught 2 Lily pads and 1 seagrass so far. They have their own folder but I won't know if they take up inventory slots until I have completed the 30 day trip. 2

Have you ever caught a turtle or a plastic bag? Maybe a shoe? You will be surprised by what will be on your hook soon! And there are pictures of said items caught on the lure, presumably baitfishing will be even worse if your bait is on the deck. As if there weren't enough problems we now get to catch trash and less fish. While I appreciate the nod to realism ( we've all been there ) this is like having dud bullets in CoD. I can't post a screenshot due to the format of the forum changing some time ago, but, it's there on FB. Sweet mother of God, tell me they didn't do this to the PS4 version........... I was fishing with my father at the time and neither of us commented as I was only 17 or 18 at the time. Facepalm moment. Upon subsequent lick/sniff tests it was indeed confirmed to be a female dildo. And I really am kidding on that one.. in tears right now....
