Now the species list on PS4 says there is a trophy blackfish??? However, there was none on the leaderboard. I emailed support last week to get a definitive answer and the answer I got was "give us some time to investigate". How long does it take to find out if a trophy is there or not?

There was one trophy Alaska Blackfish on the PS4 leaderboard when I checked last night.

It was 0.722 lbs. I believe I have seen trophies at 0.482 lbs. I am not far off at 0.441.

Yes, but according to their profile they caught it on the 19th. It wasnt on the leaderboard until a couple of days ago. So far the user has not replied to a message or friend request.

Or maybe, just maybe, we all really are in the wrong spot?

I mean, we all know many species can be caught in several spots on any given venue, but there's generally only one spot where you can get the uni. And I am generalising before anyone mentions LMB in Florida.

Maybe, just maybe, there's another Blackfish spot in Alaska that we don't know about. Because who the hell wants to go using flies and crickets when there are huge salmon to be had?

Looking at the original pic, that is not the bush we all know so well. And, caught on a 2/0 spoon.

I get the feeling that the Trophy is down on the 3rd island. TC, care to confirm or deny?

I have spent more time than I care to trying to catch this. Different spots, baits, and hook sizes. I have never caught a blackfish on a lure but i'll admit I haven't really tried because I value the little bit of sanity I have left. I have sent a message to Sandropen in hopes he takes mercy on me and will share any information.

I'll take a crack at it. I've only caught one to check it off the list and I don't do comps or know where the bush is, but the one I did catch was .441. I just did the cash bag III challenge by buying a bunch of one month licenses and I think Alaska was one of them, so I'll give it a go when I'm done swearing at the tiger trout in Michigan.

I have to disagree with you on this one. In Alaska alone I have two spots for uni Chinook and Coho, neither of which involve standing on one of those islands near the cabin. I've caught uni Dolly's in three different spots, although I think one of the spots was a fluke.

My favorite uni Pike spot (thanks in part to you), is in open water and nowhere near pike alley.

When I finally got the uni whitefish after countless trophies, I looked it up on youtube to see if I was in the same spot, but I was at the opposite end of the lake.

Just last weekend I beat my PB Walleye in Michigan 3 times without fishing around the floating dock.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to bust your chops, I do agree that some species may only have one spot, like the bluegill in Louisiana or the bull trout, or that darned tiger trout, but I've been able to find a bunch of different species with multiple uni spots.
