Why a telescopic rod? And why is the golden corn so pricey?

I started my first thanksgiving event and I’ve already ran into a problem with it, why do i have to use a telescopic rod? They don’t cast far at all, they’re not the best of rods for larger fish like buffalo and catfish, both of these fish live farther out in the water unlike the smaller fish needed to catch, so i hope my question gets answered. As well as why do we HAVE to use golden corn, when its harvested you only get 15, which i honestly think you should get 30, i hope that gets answered as well, also, 12 BAITCOINS?!? why?????

You can use regular float rods just carry on you the telescopic rod
