Won't cast further then 35ft

I'm trying to use a telescopic pole and it won't let me cast further then 35ft what can I do?

You will need to change the casting style. On a keyboard you press F11 (function key) and on a controller (I think) you click both the right and left sticks down (straight down, not towards you) at the same time (could be the bumper pads at the same time, I can't remember) before you make your cast (the bait being held in your hand should drop and be hanging from your rod tip instead).  Then you can aim (right mouse button or one of the trigger buttons (possibly the right trigger)) and hopefully be able to cast further. Paying attention to the power meter on the right side of the screen when casting helps.
