Will_Work_For_Weed Posted January 1 Report Posted January 1 (edited) Hello there! I thoroughly enjoy your game, but after playing since 2016 and spending over $700, we need to talk about a few things. You recently added trolling for both saltwater and freshwater, and it’s nice, but most players don't realize that trolling has always been possible. You just needed to use the bass boat, throw the lure out to 50 Feet, and slowly move, swinging the rod side to side or twitching and reeling every so often. And bam, you're trolling. The only difference now is that the fish bite better, and you have rod stands to use. (I can’t for the life of me understand why the Draco boat cannot do this, but it is what it is.) Aside from the trolling feature, I hope other aspects of the game improve over time. One issue I hope gets addressed soon is the bite rates at many locations. I've spent months re-catching all the unique fish since the reset update, and it’s been tough, especially with the smaller fish. I feel like the bite rates for certain ones are terrible and need to be looked at. Some of them took over three weeks to catch, even after catching thousands of fish.(Still Need Uni Perch at tiber, thich lipped mullet at canal, and 5 more at new location them iv recaught em all.) Another thing I want to address is the DLCs. Most people get suckered into buying some of them, but here’s a fact: the only DLC that really matters when you start the game is the Africa Pack. It gives you a lure rod and the ability to power level by catching Nile perch at a decent speed. I personally leveled two accounts to level 80 using this, so for $30, I got a max-level account. (Only took me 3 days to get to lv 80 playing 12 hrs each day Catch uni skip to next night poeak over n over.) Every player can do this, but the jump from level 80 to 90 took forever, which is fine, but be prepared you only need lv 74 I think is when Congo unlocks to get your $$$ worth. This is the best way to power level, especially if you want to get to max level without grinding too much, especially if you have a life or job. Sadly, most players choose the Saltwater Pack or congo pack cause of boat over the Africa Pack, which makes me sad. Most of them get to level 40-70 and then get stuck, having to grind at other locations. It’s not as fun as it sounds once you’ve been there for months, trying to get the next few levels to reach the next area. After a while, it becomes frustrating. Let's be real, the grind in this game, without paying for the Africa Pack, is one of the most exhausting grinds I’ve ever done. In 2016, I originally leveled my account to level 62 but couldn’t take it anymore. I bought the Congo DLC, not knowing how slow it would be with a match and bottom rod (no lure rod). (I bought it because I wanted the only boat with rod holders. Big mistake due to their placement—Lord, how it makes me rage!) But I had 30 days to grind through it, and I powered through, but it was a struggle. Now, aside from how “ghetto” trolling feels at the moment, here are the main things I want to address: Please disable the store pop-ups that appear every time we leave or join a location, or when we boot up the game. We know it’s there, and no matter how many times you show it to us, we won’t be pressured into spending unless we choose to. Look into fish bite rates for smaller unique fish at all locations. Some of them have terrible bite rates, and this needs to be fixed. Add a leaderboard system with options for ALL-TIME, YEARLY, MONTHLY, WEEKLY, and DAILY leaderboards. Offer rewards for being in the top 50-1000, such as special series items or tournament prizes. Right now, tournaments are nearly impossible to win, especially with the way the RNG feels sometimes.and if you want more $$ do these things then add a battle pass or something lolol. Make monster missions and event missions redoable once a month or once a year. Monthly would be ideal, but anything is better than nothing. It’s a shame this isn't already a feature.(HELL EVEN WEEKLY gives hardcore players more options of things to do.) Add fishing matchmaking queues. Some of us have no friends to play with, and others have different schedules. Being able to join a queue would be great. Also, make it so that the room refills from the queue when a player leaves, so we don’t have to worry about penalties or leaving. If a player needs to leave due to real-life obligations, they can just dip out without any hassle. Add the ability to trade with other players, or better yet, place a box at every location by the boat dock where players can leave donations of any kind—lures, rods, bait, ground bait, or even bait coins. Change the focus of the game from bait coins and DLCs to unique fish rewarding players with bait coins, like it was in The Fisherman. The current $$$ focus almost pushed a lot of players away, but honestly, the game is just too well-made to let that happen. Imagine if you added these changes! Add a level requirement for hosting tournaments, not just for creators. It would be great if only players who have reached a certain level can create tournaments. Add the ability for all the cosmetic items to be added to char customization or something different to save box space for hoarders who keep it all like myself. thru them into skins and not items. add fishing together to normal rooms and not make it a private only thing. I understand if its designed the way it is to not cause server issues. would be cool to just drive up to ppl ( you wanna get on my boat and catch em all.) ya know THE ABILITY TO REBUY ANY DLC ITEMS I PURCHASED AND SOLD FOR BAITCOINS with the same amount of baitcoins or if you had them for so long in game $$. If anyone has additional suggestions, please add them to this list, and let's get them to the devs. Forget all other fishing games—this one has the potential to be the best. But these things need to be addressed because I’m sure many long-time players and others in the community would agree that these changes would make the game a whole new experience. Just rethink the pay-to-win aspect, because that’s what will eventually kill the game. Thank you for all the years of fun, and if you listen to these suggestions, I’ll be incredibly grateful. — 36/M/GA, PC Steam Player, 2810 Hours Edited January 1 by Will_Work_For_Weed Quote
gvolkhin1 Posted January 1 Report Posted January 1 Happy New Year to everyone!!! Thank you so much for your hard work. You have done a good job and made many suggestions to improve the features and quality of the game. I've been playing for 5 years, I've spent 6,000 hours in the game, and I've made a lot of suggestions, just like you. None of the developers have ever paid any attention to my suggestions, although I offered almost everything the same as you (but maybe you'll have better luck). In my opinion, the fact is that the developers are not at all interested in the opinions and suggestions of the old players. They took a different path - they only work with those players who have just arrived or come to the game, trying to make money on them by selling DLC, without even being embarrassed by unscrupulous tricks like dirty cabin windows on a rented boat (Ocean location). They only need money. That's why they're not interested in our opinion at all. Quote
Will_Work_For_Weed Posted January 1 Author Report Posted January 1 (edited) Thats what I have always seen happen to layersl who suggest things to make the game better for all us hardcore dedicated supportive players. hopefully they will open their mind this time but we will see. ALL WE CAN DO IS BEG AND PLEAD FOR MORE BETTER CONTENT TO KEEP US ENTERTAINED. Cause lets be real then new players ask us how to do things and imagine if we were not there to help em out and give them the knowledge or teach them what we learned over the years of playing this game. THEY WOULD SPEND WAYYY LESS $$$ so in a way they need the older player base too not just the new inexperienced ppl who will more thn likely wast $$ on the DLC just to get stuck and caught by the LV grind. which is the reason id say most players give up on lv up and just quit and dont return. gvolkhin1 Posted January 1 Report Posted January 1 Both I and all my fellow players, old players, have always supported and support newcomers with advice. We loved this game the way it was a year ago. But here I'm talking about something else - the developers have managed to change the game this year so that the gaming climate has become prudently commercial. They are not interested in anything except siphoning money from the players. And they don't give a damn about our advice. Quote
ivanlobo77 Posted January 2 Report Posted January 2 You are also an "old" Fishing Planet player with a total of over 4,000 hours of play on PC, PS4, Xbox. The game itself is really good and could be even better, but unfortunately the developers do not listen to the voices of more experienced players. examples include requests to look at the frequency of bites in certain fishing grounds and certain fish, failure to use the potential of some fishing grounds, e.g. Sander Berrgesee, or requests to personalize equipment (color of buoys or fishing rods). Another practice that destroys the potential of a theoretically free to play game is introducing equipment (boats, fishing rod holders - anyway, the holders on the sides of the boat are a disaster - ) only in the form of DLC without the possibility of earning it by fishing. Even though I know that my voice doesn't mean much to developers, I still say it with the hope that they will listen. best regards and break fishing rods Quote
DannyWilson Posted January 2 Report Posted January 2 I've been playing since 2017 I have over 18,000 hours in the game and I can say things sure have changed the bite rate was so good back then you could catch 5 to 8 unique musky just in one spot at Saint Crox but that was letting people rank up fast Quote
