Ah Dong Posted December 17, 2025 Report Posted December 17, 2025 I'm confused about this. I'd like to know if, for surface baits, the fish biting and then getting off the hook is a probability-based event in the game mechanics, or is it triggered by certain specific events? Before we begin, I can rule out one factor: the technique I use to reel in the fish. Because I always use the same technique. However, the results are often very different; sometimes the fish bites and frantically escapes, while other times it's very normal. I hope guys will actively participate in the discussion so that we can get closer to the essence of the problem quickly. Quote
PH_Carpman99 Posted December 18, 2025 Report Posted December 18, 2025 I think there can be many variables when trying to successfully set the hook when using surface lures like the walkers and poppers (etc). Having the right hook size for the size of the fish you're targeting helps of course, and some fish seem to hit the lure better when you stop retrieving when they appear behind the lure, but the best method I've found for getting a good hookup is fishing during peak hours.
