Hi everyone,

I've been thinking about this for a while.

Would anyone else like to play Fishing Planet in VR?

I'm not asking for full VR controls or a completely different way to play. Even basic VR headset support with a regular Xbox controller would be enough.

I'm a software developer myself, so I know this probably isn't as simple as flipping a switch. There are likely technical challenges, camera work, UI adjustments, animation issues, and maybe even some models that would need extra attention in VR. I completely understand that.

Still, I honestly think it would be worth the effort. A lot of us already own VR headsets, and after games like Half-Life: Alyx they mostly sit on a shelf waiting for another great experience. Fishing Planet feels like one of those games that could give them a second life.

For me, VR isn't about waving my hands around. It's about feeling like I'm actually there.

Fishing Planet already does a great job creating beautiful locations. Imagine putting on a headset after a long day, sitting down with a controller, and suddenly you're standing on a quiet lake at sunrise. You hear the birds, the wind, the water moving around you. You look across the shoreline, watch the float drift, turn your head to follow a fish jumping in the distance.

It's not about faster gameplay or new mechanics. It's about presence. About forgetting you're sitting in your room for an hour and feeling like you've escaped into nature.

I honestly think Fishing Planet could become one of those games people buy a VR headset for, not because it needs flashy VR features, but because it already has something much more valuable: atmosphere.

Since the game is already on Steam, maybe basic SteamVR headset support could be possible someday.

What do you think? Has the team ever mentioned VR support?

If you'd like to see this too, leave a comment. I know the forum is only a small part of the community, but it can still show the developers there's interest.

Tight lines!
