Okay so when I set the hook on the fish no matter if it's full drag or not the tension always stays to where the fish is about to get off the line. Moving doesn't help me I've tried that. There's several more having this problem as well that I've asked

Please state your in game name to help Killerwhale look at your logs and what's going on please.

Thank you guys for your patience with this. Killer is good at what he does though so just hang in there! ;)

Yes this happens to me as well and a few of my friends. We were at new York catching fish and everything seemed normal then once i hit level 19 using the same rod, reel, and line since we started fishing in new York, the drag will go from blue all to red and back.  Adjusting drag and reel speed has no change.  We thought that our leveling up had maybe changed the difficulty for fishing so we went to Florida and North Carolina and the same thing happens everywhere we go.  We bought new rods, reels and poles that were better than our others other ones and it still happens.  Now we constantly lose fish because of "low line tension."

Same here. Happening WAY too often. The line is fine, proper drag setting, pulling back on the rod and then the fish gets away with a low line tension message popping up. We've had it happen at least 4 or 5 times today alone. Currently level 20.

Same here. Since the top water "upgrade". Line is kind of tight. As soon as a fish bites the bait or gets near a lure, instantly 10 feet of slack. Try to "sneak" up and tighten the line a bit with reel speed one. Fish either stops biting, or get the "bait moved too far" message. If you are lucky, the fish takes the bait, you mash right mouse button (or enter) and then you get...wait for it.............."bait eaten or lost".  I can understand that happening once in a while. In real fishing it happens. But in this game its almost every single time.

Thankfully it has happened so much I can tell when its going to happen, and can catch one out of three fish. But its not fun. Not fun at all to float fish like it used to be. Pike fishing is bad. Cat fish are even worse. I use non technique lures like crank baits now because its an exercise in futility to do otherwise.

In game name is Yessinia55

Sorry. It is Yessinia without the 55. Thats for another fishing game I play.

So... no one else has noticed how the float physics do not look or act real? I even made a new steam account on a different pc here at home to see if it was just my game bugged somehow. Made no difference. Also, does the new mechanic/physic  have to do with tweaking things to make the new line-glider reels work? Because I have that matched set too. It does seem to be a bit easier to set the hook with live bait such as shiners, but dead bait has the same issues.

Several days ago one of you developers made a post on steam news claiming the physics bugs with floats and rubber band fishing line had been fixed. This is clearly a false statement.

These issues have been on-going since the game went live after the top water night fishing update. The game claims to be super realistic.

Shiners and minnows moving a large float 2 to 3 feet a second? That is not realistic.

Fish that never, ever take a float under when the line has no slack? Not realistic.

Fish that immediately stop biting if you try to take a bit of slack out of the 15 feet of slack that instantly happens when a fish does bite? Not realistic.

Fishing line that looks and acts like a rubber band? Not realistic.

You developers say you will add boats? BOATS? I am laughing so hard I can barely breathe. You cant even fine tune how live bait acts how are you going to handle adding something as dynamic and interactive as boats? Hah hah hah ho ha. :)

Thanks for the laughs I needed some comic relief this morning. Soon some other fishing games will be open. My Steam wallet is pointing in their direction. Maybe I should follow....mmm.

Hi we will take it all into account, and please be patient. Boats are coming soon.

I think you may misunderstand. I DO NOT CARE ABOUT BOATS!. There. Maybe if I scream loud enough you can understand? Boats will add nothing to the game. We will just be fishing the same old lakes catching the same old tired fish. New areas. Lakes. The Amazon river or the Rift lakes in Africa. Those are interesting ideas.

But this thread is about the interaction between player and float physics and/or mechanics and the way lures act like sinkers. When I  see these issues fixed and the fishing line looks normal again instead of like a long bicycle chain or rubber band then I might start thinking about spending money again. I have spent about U.S. $40.00 on this game. I got my moneys worth of entertainment. But not another dime until I see improvements in the game play. NOT BOATS. NOT NEW RODS. NOT NEW LURES. FIX WHATS BROKEN.

Thank you for your very timely response. It only took several days this time instead of weeks. Have a nice day.
