big fish Big fish catching!

Hi guys first post so delete if it's in the wrong place. 

I have been wondering about catching bigger fish i am currently level 17 nearly 18. Do I need to travel to the more expensive lakes to catch bigger fish or can I travel to colorado with heavier line, reel, and rod. I am up for travelling to the bigger lakes just struggling to get some money 😂. 

My set up. 

Rod:ceaser 23'

Reel: prima 3500

Line mono. 009 I also have fluoro. 009 

Hooks #2,  #3/0,  X-series hook #4/0

Stringer,  44 pounds

You can catch cat fish In neherrin river in think it's called just right from lone star on the map. 

I have pulled 14 pound cat there and seen others hitting 20, it's a pretty God price as well for travel etc. 

I just bought a unlimited license so I can level up a bit and make money.

Awesome thanks I have been there and caught some cat fish but that was before I upgraded my gear so hopefully with a bigger reel and line and a bigger hook I catch the big one's 😂

There is two great spots there that I found via you tube one under an overhanging tree. 

Using small minnows if you have them or cutbait I was pulling them out constantly. 

Only trouble I had was my keep net only let me keep a 7. 5lb fish max so I never made any money that trip lol, so just bare that in mind.

Sweet what pegs where they at? You got a link for the videos? I think my stringer let's me catch up to 13 pound fish so I will give it a go

Should be OK with 13 but you may fill it quite quick.

if you have a decent spinning rod that can reach150-180ft..like featherlight, go for walleyes in new york..just get the biggest net at your level and bring narrow spoons, cast down in the middle of the dock. great exp and cash too. good luck

I know at Neherrin River I am pulling Flatheads that range from 10-12 lbs up to 29 lbs with the average weight being right around 16 lbs.. This past week I started fishing, by 6 a.m. my 154 keepnet was full.

Bigger tackle usually means bigger fish, but limited to what pond you're fishing at.  Example. You can't go to North Carolina expecting to catch 9 & 10 lb. largemouth bass. They don't get that big there. Some examples of the max sizes of largemouth at various ponds ( as per the ubersheet): North Carolina 6 lb., Missouri 8 lb., Louisiana 12 lb. and Florida 14 lb. As the CincyKid stated, he's catching Flatheads in North Carolina up to 29 lbs., and they get up to 36 lbs there, ( as per the ubersheet). However, in Louisiana, they get up to 77 lbs. (yet again as per the uber sheet lol), So again, don't expect to go to North Carolina and catch a 60 lb. Flathead. Check out the ubersheet, it'll give you an idea of the max weight for each species at each pond.
