czoomx1 Posted September 19, 2017 Report Posted September 19, 2017 (edited) Hello Everyone anyone have any luck catching Tarpon in Florida? I am currently level 31. I have been hunting tarpon off and on but no dice. Checked Youtube videos still nothing with those spots! Anyone know of baits or spots to try? Cause I am tired now . I seen one Tarpon caught after many days of fishing Florida, but right before I could see where he was fishing or ask him what bait he used, he left LOL. Edited September 19, 2017 by czoomx1 Quote
Violentvole Posted September 19, 2017 Report Posted September 19, 2017 (edited) I asked if they were in the game, not had one yet. And my post was deleted for some reason. Edited September 19, 2017 by Violentvole Quote
czoomx1 Posted September 19, 2017 Author Report Posted September 19, 2017 I seen one caught in the chat on PS4, but the dude left right away lol. I know they are in there or that could of been a fish test for the devs. Not sure, hopefully a Developer or a Fishing planet pro can respond about the tarpon in PS4 and what to use. Quote
Violentvole Posted September 19, 2017 Report Posted September 19, 2017 (edited) The fact my thread was deleted says a lot. I don't care if they're rarer than hobby horse poop, just wanted a yes or no. Easier to delete the thread apparently. Edited September 19, 2017 by Violentvole Typo Quote
PH_Bear Posted September 20, 2017 Report Posted September 20, 2017 I've had some sucsess on PC so not sure if this applies. Standing on the left hand side of the dock at "Salty Delta" cast out (heavy float gear) between the trees way the &$@( out there. You have to be 150-165' to be in the sweat spot. Any closer is a no go. My problem is my rig only shoots 145' so I have to wait until it drifts out into the Tarpon area. Quote
WPfromWP Posted September 21, 2017 Report Posted September 21, 2017 I have caught a tarpon on ps4. It was at the lily pad channel and completely by surprise. Quote
WPfromWP Posted September 21, 2017 Report Posted September 21, 2017 Sorry I don't remember the details of how to catch. I didn't know it was a big deal at the time. Quote
Violentvole Posted September 21, 2017 Report Posted September 21, 2017 (edited) Nice one! I must have spent 2 real hours yesterday fishing for them from the...um, can't remember what it's called, the peg that tells you you have a taste of the open ocean. Had one bite, and I sodding missed it. May have been a snook or drum, no way of telling. Will have another go at some point. Violentvole Posted September 23, 2017 Report Posted September 23, 2017 (edited) Ok...don't ask how much money, how much time etc. But here is Voles tarpon ( finally ), with date. They are in there. Totally wasn't worth it lol. Edit: and 2 mins later, another. Another edit: although there are only commons, my last pic shows they reach a decent size. 3 in 10 or 15 minutes. athiest4life Posted September 24, 2017 Report Posted September 24, 2017 so far I've caught one that was19 lbs. Quote
Violentvole Posted September 24, 2017 Report Posted September 24, 2017 I have to be honest, I see a wasted opportunity. They aren't worth anything and require time and patience. Theae are aggresive fish that should be hitting lures and scaring anglers, instead they're only 150 feet+ out and give a very poor return on your investment. They also fight like a carp whereas they are known for their aerobatics IRL. But, they are on the PS4. Not worth fishing for except for a tick list, but they are there. You don't need to cast at the trees in my last pic btw, they just seem to be further than 150 feet. You can catch them in the open channel too. 1 Quote
J.Mitchell WV Posted October 9, 2017 Report Posted October 9, 2017 I caught one just this past Saturday. Completely by surprise. Was fishing for the uni Snook. Next cast though....43lb. uni snook. Was at number 27 on the leader board as of yesterday morning. Quote

The last few that I caught were definitely more acrobatic than when I started catching them. I think there was a patch in there somewhere. The ROI is not great on them but what I was doing in FL was filling my 220 net to 219 or so with LM bass and then going to get a giant tarpon to overfill my net. So like in the pic above my total ended up being 249.116lb. 219lb worth of LM bass money then a bonus grand for that tarpon. 1 Quote
