Wow a money grind!!!

This game is to much of a grind. I dont feel achieved from all the fishing done so far. It needs to be more entertaining then a punishment to progress in game!

bud, it's a game..suppose to grind something to progress right? and if your not really enjoying fishing aside from having a lot of cash for your equip or whatnot, maybe this game is not for you. just my 2 cents. fish out

This isn't an instant gratification type game ,thats not what its about.

This is a Fishing MMO ,make no mistake about it. Personally I love grinding type games . I guess thats why I loved World of Tanks and Warcraft .

if only the controller Vibrate function worked for everyone lol

That said yes it is a grind maybe a little to much??? but that can be balanced out over time the game itself if quite fun and a great chillout game so go fish a few hrs of trout or bass and listen to some music

Some people want instant everything these days.

The entertainment for me came from progressing, at no point did I ever feel I was grinding. There are so many species in all the different venues that I never get bored or find things repetitive.

This is your second post slating the game and its format. Perhaps you'd be better off on something like CoD? Oh, wait, you have to actually play to level up on there too..

Agree with you. The technique variation, conditions, various species, etc., all make progression in Fishing Planet a lot of fun. I have a nine year old son who Fishing Planet has converted from the must-have-instant-gratification player to a more patient goal-oriented gamer. I’m grateful for this because although there’s a place for these fast-paced action games, the patience this game requires isn’t a bad quality to maintain in real-life fishing (heck & generally in life as well).

I personally wouldn’t enjoy this game as much if I didn’t have to work any figuring out the patterns and techniques needed to consistently catch fish. Right now for me 264lbs of Largemouth & Peacock Bass in the Glades in a day is still reasonably attainable without sweating the end of the day’s time allotment. When I get the largest fishnet available at LVL 40, I can imagine it’s gonna take a knockout type of day to fill up 400lbs+ of Largemouth & Peacock Bass without adding a couple Snook, Catfish, Gar, etc., to the day’s catch LOL.

I play it because it’s relaxing as well. I’ve found myself starting to float fish most of the time while I catch up on the news or do something else.

I agree, with you I still enjoy playing this game. The Fishing MOM and World of Warcraft are also some of the same genre games that, I love to play. My brother has a huge collection of PC games, which he usually shop online. We find it very interesting, to play these games together, as they are full of adventures and need a lot of patience while playing.

I found this game to be just the opposite. I got to level 40 and had all the top gear in less than two weeks. Really not much of a grind at all. If anything not enough of a grind. When I play a game I expect 2-3 months of grinding to get to max level and all the top equipment. 

I only wish there was more stuff. New equipment would be nice. I'm tired of the same equipment being released in packs but in a different color. Heh, the game needs a quest to get some uber gear

Well, the level cap is at 40,  after that you can gain Rank.  At this point we don't know how the Rank will affect future purchases, etc.  However, it can be a real grind if you don't plan ahead and lose a bunch of cash.  Before you go to a location, plan on spending at least seven days.  Make sure you have all the equipment, bait, etc. in your inventory before you leave home.  Make sure you have the proper licences (don't need to get a big fine).  On the Map Screen you can select how many days you want the trip to be, ONLY GO FOR ONE DAY!  You can extend the trip at the location and if you have to leave for some reason, you won't have wasted any money.  Just like when fishing in real life, or for than matter anything you do you need to have preparation.  I simply call it the "P" Principle "Proper Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance"  

Just relax and enjoy the game!  Good luck and tight lines to you all!

Question on the days and licenses.

 

Sometimes I have several hours to play at a time and other times I may not log in for a few days.  The licenses appear to work in real time, but what about the trip days?  I've been doing 1 day trips all the time because I don't know if I'll be able to log in the next real time day.  If the licenses go by real time but the trip time does not, does that mean you have to keep reupping the license every time you log in?

The in game days only advance while playing. You only need to pay for 1 day travel as you can extend as much as you like at 5 am when you sell your fish. Don't hit leave, just exit the game and you come back where you left off.
