White Sucker

White Sucker (Catostomus Сommersonii) is a freshwater fish commonly known as a "sucker" due to its fleshy lips that suck up organic matter from the bottom of rivers and streams. Native to the waterways of upper Midwest and Northeast in North America, these fish are generally found in small streams, rivers, and lakes in the Midwest and East Coast of the United States. White Suckers have long, round bodies with dark green, grey, brown, or black sides and a light underbelly. Adult White Suckers can reach the weight of around 1 - 2.5 kg. (2 - 5 lb). These fish are bottom feeders and will eat mostly small invertebrates, algae and plant matter.
